Shrimp & Grits
Fresh Gulf shrimp served over our southern cheese grits, topped with tomatoes, scallions and bacon bits
Four shrimp stuffed with our house-made deviled crab, fried, and served on a bed of greens with a lemon butter sauce
Grilled or Fried Chicken
The Friday night all-you-can-eat shrimp deal was great. Our service was perfect and the ambiance was so quiet and relaxing. We really appreciate the lower volume music. It’s so refreshing to not have to scream over music to converse with our friends during dinner. Thank you for a lovely dinner experience.
We absolutely loved the softer more gentle music because we were able to talk and actually hear each other without having to scream over loud music.
The cheese grits were a little too dry and not cheesy enough and the pork loin was over cooked and dry.
Order a slice of the Layered Chocolate Cake to go and got chocolate sheet cake ……😕
Day after Thanksgiving lunch with family. Waitress was great and food was exceptional!
Staff were attentive. Meal was fabulous. I’ll be back.
Great way to spend Thanksgiving day with family…..
This was our second time and my son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We go for the Thanksgiving dinner Buffet and there’s so many delicious choices you just can’t get enough but it’s also very good. It’s a wonderful setting. There was a crowd which we expected since it was Thanksgiving and a Buffet. Service was excellent. Wonderful setting at the historic Edward Ball Hotel with a view of the spring.
Very poorly organized. Very long line of people just to talk to hostess. Food was buffet style in very small area. Again very long line. Just very poorly organized. Piano player was absolutely horrible. So many wrong notes.
Always best choose for holiday buffets. Or any other times you want a special place to dine.
This restaurant serves the most authentic and tasty southern fried chicken imaginable. The key lime pie is also very good. Very friendly servers- tip well!
Food was great with even some vegetarian options. Service was ver friendly. We really enjoyed it.
Prices were good, ample amount of food that was hot. Wait staff friendly and working hard. Sauce was missing from my dish but server brought it soon after I mentioned it. Good pours on our glasses of wine. They really need someone at the entrance to greet and seat customers but I think the lack of someone has to do with staff shortages in the restaurant industry.
The following are observations from our most recent experience and not necessarily criticism. This visit was the first in recent times having not dined there for many years.
The dining “room” / hall is quite noisy especially when there are a number of dining guests. The room has hard floors and a high ceiling which causes the noise to “echo” throughout. The chairs are low and the tables high making one feel like a child at a grown-ups table. Might be time to update the tables and chairs. The room is brightly lit and has a nice view of the springs. It’s a nostalgic trip to the once elegant period of when the elite stayed and dined at the lodge. There are several more entree selections on the menu than one might see online - including their “famous” fried chicken. Portions are ample and the pricing what one might expect. The stuffed shrimp is a good value at $18.95 with ample portions of the deviled crab, although not sure if the shrimp were actually “fresh” or Sysco-sourced.
Everything was great. Our server, he was excellent. I can see why Ms. Michelle Laxton confirmed that the calender is already full and booked for groups the rest of this year. Its a very nice place to have any event. Great job to all the workers!!
This was a lovely restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday - it was both of our first time visiting here. The ambiance was quiet and classy with jazzy tunes, lowered lighting, and an old-world vibe. It wasn't so fancy that they have a dress code, but it was a nice and different experience. There is a lovely view of the springs if you get there before dark. My husband and I agree that we will be back and we look forward to bringing our out-of-town guests.
The breakfast was amazing with great service. Dinner food was great but service was terrible, our waitress forgot to put our order in and it took 50 minutes to get our meal. I never expect anything for free but I kind of figured we would get a discount on our dinner since we had to hunt down our waitress and find out what happened to our meal. But we did not. I would still recommend this place
The Shrimp Dinner & French Dip were great and worth the wait. They were short staffed again. There was group event and some of the wait staff were pulled away to help. We were seated only a few minutes past our reservation time and our order was taken within a reasonable time. But it took awhile to get our meal. When the food arrived, it was perfect!
It was good. There was nothing outstanding about it but there was nothing bad either.
The dining room was perfectly suited to the ambiance of the lodge and the rustic setting of the park. The room was quiet, even though the ceilings were high. The service was attentive, cordial, and nicely timed for a leisurely meal. The food was top notch and well prepared.
Our group of six was very satisfied.
A charming place within the Lodge at Wakulla Springs State Park. The food and service were outstanding. While it doesn’t have a huge menu, it is certainly more than adequate. I had the bee charmers salad (with shrimp) and navy bean soup. Very delicious and filling
I was excited to dine here from the pictures on Google. But having joined you in person there’s no comparison. The food was perfect. My steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The fried chicken was moist but not greasy. The server was super sweet and very professional. Well done everyone all the way around. C
We went to Wakulla Springs to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We had a large party and were seated in a small separate dining room which was perfect. We could talk easily without having to speak over others in the main dining room. And we didn't have to worry about bothering other diners with our animated conversations. The service was great and everyone enjoyed their meal. It was a special night to remember.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner, food great and a lovely atmosphere
Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Had dinner and breakfast. Both very good.
Dinner was perfect after our Boat Tour. Loved the Shrimp N Grits, best I have ever had. Made for a perfect day!
As always, the food was excellent. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and the mac & cheese as a side. You can't go wrong with any choice on the menu. Enjoyed it once again and will be back.
Would also recommend taking the water tour on the Wakulla River. Always spectacular sites of the animals and the foliage. Sites are different in all 4 of the seasons!
Our food was excellent. We ordered half salads which were large and full of delicious, healthy ingredients. The crab cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the stuffed shrimp was also very good. We enjoyed the banana swirl cake for dessert. Awesome restaurant.
Great food, the kitchen was excellent! Denise at breakfast is a jewel!
The food and service was excellent and prices reasonable, As a minor point, the furniture needs updating.
The food was fabulous. Host and hostess all very kind
Beautiful old facility, may plan to stay there in the future.
The ambience was delightful and the food was delicious. The wait staff attentive.
The Edward Ball Dining Room was quiet, peaceful and tranquil. The food choices were varied with something for everyone. As they prepare the food on sight be prepared to wait while the chef’s prepare it. It does tend to be a little pricey but overall a great experience.
Food and service was excellent. Our server helped my friend and I decide on what we would like to have for dinner.
Service was excellent. Portions are large and food was delicious. Wait staff was very helpful and attentive without being obtrusive. Can't wait till next time.
A wedding reception was going on at the same time so the dining room was very quiet. Beautiful facility.
Food was great (French Dip & Fried Shrimp Dinner)! Service was a bit slow this time. Nearly every table was filled and they seemed to be short staffed. I highly recommend making a reservation and packing your patience as more people are discovering this local gem.
Food was very good
And service was great as well.
This is one of our favorite places to eat in Wakulla County
Waited over an hour for our food. The waiter never came back to fill water. After we said we were ready for bill, we waited another 15 minutes while the waitress had a conversation with another patron. We were the only two tables left with people.
Very pleasant experience. Didn’t love the coleslaw but everything else was really delicious.
