Grilled or Fried Shrimp
Four shrimp stuffed with our house-made deviled crab, fried, and served on a bed of greens with a lemon butter sauce
The Edward Ball Dining Room was quiet, peaceful and tranquil. The food choices were varied with something for everyone. As they prepare the food on sight be prepared to wait while the chef’s prepare it. It does tend to be a little pricey but overall a great experience.
Food and service was excellent. Our server helped my friend and I decide on what we would like to have for dinner.
Service was excellent. Portions are large and food was delicious. Wait staff was very helpful and attentive without being obtrusive. Can't wait till next time.
A wedding reception was going on at the same time so the dining room was very quiet. Beautiful facility.
Food was great (French Dip & Fried Shrimp Dinner)! Service was a bit slow this time. Nearly every table was filled and they seemed to be short staffed. I highly recommend making a reservation and packing your patience as more people are discovering this local gem.
Food was very good
And service was great as well.
This is one of our favorite places to eat in Wakulla County
Waited over an hour for our food. The waiter never came back to fill water. After we said we were ready for bill, we waited another 15 minutes while the waitress had a conversation with another patron. We were the only two tables left with people.
Very pleasant experience. Didn’t love the coleslaw but everything else was really delicious.
Awesome out of the way special place to eat, service was great and food outstanding!
Stayed in St. Teresa ... about a 45 min drive away ... but food and service so good that we came to the lodge for 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner. And either before or after each, enjoyed a boat ride from the Lodge on the Wakulla River. Ate something different every time, and it was all delicious. Our waitress, Denise, was with us 3 of our 4 visits and provided excellent service.
good choices of food
dinner was very good tasted good and prepared well
breakfast was average but service very good
Great out of the way place. Southern atmosphere. Good food. Great service. Excellent plave to take the family. Old Florida feel.
Excellent service, varied cuisine
As always, just delicious as can be. Can’t wait to return…hopefully soon.
The menu is just the right length and the dishes served are plentiful. Always a pleasure dining with the background music at a low level that allows for conversations and keeps with the early mid 20th Century style.
They have great food and the dining experience is enjoyable listening to some swing music during the evenings. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. Will definitely return there next time on vacation in panhandle areas.
Food was excellent. Service was slow. Slow getting to the table. Slow waiting for the food to be delivered to the table.
I swam in Wakulla Springs a lot as a youngster and also had the opportunity to visit the hotel on several occasions in the 1960's. It seems the same today as it did then and I could not pay it a higher compliment. The restaurant was great and the food was perfect. Old Florida at its best.
Very relaxing experience. The food was delicious. The servers were timely, fun, helpful, and respectful. Breakfast menu is the best, especially the potatoes. The music was very good, made for a great meal.
The food and service were excellent and atmosphere so relaxing. Highly recommend the crab stuffed shrimp. Can’t wait to return.
The dining experience is like a quiet step back in time but the food is up to date and excellently prepared. We ate five meals there as we stayed at the lodge and were pleased with all of them.
Beautiful, historic setting with a family vibe. Nice but also laid back, this is an easy place to be. The ribeye was one of the best I've ever had chargrilled and perfect temperature which isn't easy for my rare to medium rare order they have it going on with the parmesean crusted asparagus as well. We'd highly recommend this for a unique treat for your family!
I enjoyed our dinner at The Edward Ball Dining Room at Wakulla Springs very much. The food was just okay. My husband had the fried chicken and said it had zero spice despite being described as spicy on the menu. He said it seriously lacked flavor and was dry. My son ordered the shrimp and said his meal was very good but we found the portion size a bit too small. The kitchen was pretty slow but our waitress was very attentive and friendly. We were in no hurry so we didn't mind the wait. The ambiance is so nice. In my opinion this is one of those places you go for the ambiance and the history - not so much the food. It was enjoyable.
the food offerings are very limited and rather pricey unless you get a hamburger. nit really sure why you need a reservation, we were at the lodge 3 days and never saw more than 5 tables used.
We had a group of 10 people for a celebration and had a great time. Loved the ambiance. Food is great too!
Great food and service. Love the ambiance and historical feel of the Lodge.
This is a beautiful setting overlooking the springs. Takes you back to old world times with a great staff.
This is one of Florida's hidden gems. We live about 45 minutes away and have lunvh or dinner here once a month. The menu items have dwindled a bit over the years. No local grouper, mullet or oysters as in the past, so be sure to review the menu online before you go. I highly recommend the fried shrimp dinner or fish tacos.
Can highly recommend the shrimp & grits and chicken &waffles!
Only three tables occupied in restaurant for late lunch. Only one waitress but requested tarter sauce which she was going to bring but we never got it. After food was delivered she did not return until lunch was finished. Never came to refill drinks. Very disappointed in service.
The food was good but not exceptional for the price. The salads, fried chicken and stuffed shrimp I would recommend. One person had the ribeye steak, ordered med. rare, came out very small, thin and medium well--at best.
Could not ask for better. Great wait staff, & food was excellent.
Overall good experience.
Great service and good food.
Special occasion of a birthday was definitely enhanced by celebrating at The Lodge. The ambiance, food, service were all excellent. This place is a true gem.
Terrible service!!! Great food
There were 6 adults dining. Each couple split a meal and all were delicious. We ordered the blackened shrimp, southern fried chicken, and 8 oz filet with a cup of gumbo. All were delicious. While the desserts are not homemade (don’t listen to your waitress, we had one the night before that told us everything but the banana swirl was homemade… NOT) anyway the cheesecake with special request of chocolate sauce drizzle and the tiramisu were very tasty.
Lunch was delicious. There were 8 of us and we had the French dip, club sandwich, and Philly cheese steak. Very generous portions and we all enjoyed them very much. Would recommend splitting with someone.
Fish Tacos were disappointing. We had another table with them and they were huge servings. When our table of 8 got their orders there was only a tiny fish in each taco.
We ate two dinners and two breakfasts here. It was a nice experience. Yes service was slow but it made the meal leisurely. Food was good, not great but good. They ran out of chicken one night and creamer one morning . The atmosphere of the park and the lodge and this restaurant was lovely. You are dining in a State Park not a 5 star restaurant on Palm Beach so don’t sweat the small stuff. It was enjoyable .
