The Edison Ratings and Reviews
If your looking for a dinner restaurant keep moving on down to any other restaurant at Disney Springs. If you want a fun atmosphere for drinks and appetizer stop in. We booked this as a dinner after hearing it was a restaurant at times and a club at others. They should promote themselves for what they are which is an awesome bar. Instead we saw it as a terribly over priced restaurant. The clothes line bacon app was good, my piece was a bit fatty, but more luck of the draw there. The Negroni was excellent! However, my Greek chicken salad was below what I had the day before for lunch from Publix. I wish the food menu was a little more extensive and not as heavy. Not many options for someone trying to eat lighter fare.
The look of the restaurant was amazing, and that’s what drew us in.
It seemed a bit over staffed too. We had a server and his trainee, which was expected, but other waiters would stop by and ask how we were doing several times as well.
I recommend sitting on the first floor, much better ambiance than the second.
We will be back for drinks, but not a meal with this menu.
It was a birthday dinner. Bar service very slow ended up cancelling 2nd drink as we were almost done with dinner. Never got our side item. Some dinner items come with sides and some don’t. We order sides and received one and one dinner came with sides. Didn’t say it on the menus. If you go in ask if it comes with sides. Probably won’t be going back any time soon very pricey. The atmosphere was cool but that’s about all it has going for it
We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had a 3 year old with us. We sat in the dance floor area downstairs and there was a particularly loud table nearby. The sound bounces around all the walls so that’s all we could hear until they left. Our server was friendly and attentive. My husband was very disappointed only the small lunch menu was available - salads, burger, soup, a couple sandwiches. That being said, his burger and my sandwich were good but we felt both were over-priced. So is the Clothesline Bacon, but it’s great for a splurge! We’ll try it again sometime for dinner when we can get something a little more substantial
After being told our reservation had been “stolen”, we were seated and had to wait at least 15 minutes for a waiter to assist us. We were very excited by the menu and looked forward to our food. When the food arrived however, we were disappointed. The waffles tasted like pre-cooked frozen waffles and the portions were a bit smaller than expected for the price. Our waiter was very nice. An average dining experience, but don’t think I would pay that much again for as little food.
Glory was our server and she went out of her way to make our night as special as it was. She was amazing. The food was especially delicious and the portions were great. The live band was awesome and the burlesque show was top notch. Thank you for making out anniversary so special..
Me and my husband came here for our anniversary. The atomosphere is very unique and entertaining. The staff was polite and efficient. However the food lacked flavor and was not worth the price for what is offered. For the price and the elegance of the restaurant, we expected the food to be amazing, and it lacked just that. We’ve been to many high end restaurants, and it did not compare to any of them in quality and taste of the food. It was mediocore in taste and presentation. We will go back for drinks and entertainment. It is very good for late night fun, however for a only a sit down restaurant to eat at often I would not attend regularly.
Wow! Our waitress was phenomenal and the themeing of the restaurant is so cool! Had the deviled eggs for an appetizer and it was a great new twist on a classic. I had the meatloaf and oh my.... it was incredible! Highly recommend. It is a bit pricey, but truly worth every penny.
My review of the restaurant itself is the atmosphere is amazing, the wait staff was extremely friendly, and the food was really good. So definitely go try it out! Great addition to Disney Springs...
Unfortunately, after getting our $ for a pricey meal the service quality seemed to end. Later in the evening unfortunately I had to go back to get my receipt for valet, which admittedly I forget to take with me. The manager at the Edison couldn't have been less helpful. I told him I have the credit card used ( which I know he can swipe and find my receipt to print ) but he kept saying I'm sorry I just can't help you. Even if he couldn't do it at that resister there was nobody behind me so he could have gone to a back office and taken care of it. Thankfully we found the valet manager was more friendly and accommodating than he was which showed in the positive review she received.
I just don't feel customers should receive a different service level after dining as they received before. If so, the next time their friendly greetings come across as a little artificial.
Service was excellent, well trained staff. Appetizers and desserts very good, however entrees were over seasoned with too much pepper! ( tomato soup and fried chicken) the grilled cheese was too greasy.... one of the cheeses was probably the culprit. We were there dinner time and there was no entertainment. I would recommend to others to come after 9:30 or later for drinks, apps or desserts and entertainment. During the day leaves much to be desired.
Overpriced for what you get. Chef was not willing to change the side that came with my main dish for a different one that I could eat...due to food allergies. But I was given the option the order something from the list of side for an additional $9! No thanks...I'm already paying over $30 for a meal I can only eat part of. Gluten free options were not listed. Very limited menu. Won't be back unless it's for some special and we are willing to pay more. The food was pretty good, but nothing special.
I love the ambiance, Disney does a great job at creating a theme and transporting you to that. The cocktails are outstanding, their signature bacon appetizer was amazing. Their entrees are trying too hard to be something they aren't, I wish they would work on their menu. I had the burger and was underwhelmed by it (and it's $22 price tag). I'm willing to pay for a good meal and experience but it needs to deliver. The meatloaf was a hit at our table, I was curious to try the Grilled cheese and tomato soup... I just couldn't justify paying $20 for it... maybe it's worth it, maybe I'll try that next time, since I loved everything else about the place.
This restaurant is just generally not impressive at all. I have had the pleasure to dine at 95% of the options that Disney offers and this restaurant has to be in the bottom 5% easily. The mixed drinks are lacking and for $14.00 a drink I would expect at least a normal portion. I almost laughed when they brought it out. I had to double check the menu to make sure I had not ordered a shot. The food is basic and once again completely overpriced. I understand that everything is more expensive in Disney. Trust me. However, when the signature dish is a burger that couldn’t compete with what Five Guys or Burger-Fi has to offer at a fraction of the price...something is wrong. Lastly, this restaurant has a cover charge at night? Really? I understand if you want age restricted, but check IDs at the door and lose the expense. I am supposed to pay to get in only to be overcharged for a bad drink and basic food? Count me out. Very disappointed with Disney on this one. Their other recent additions were home runs. The Edison strikes out on every level.
There still a lot of growing pains we talk to the manager because it took us over an hour just to check out but he didn’t even ask for the waiters name the food is OK but it is not the best do not get the Caesar salad it’s really just a salad with chicken thrown on top there’s nothing special the salmon tasted good but it’s not worth the price I would find somewhere else if you want to go for drinks and a few hors d’oeuvres that may be OK but definitely not dinner
My boyfriend and I went for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner. This was our first visit and we had a great time. The service was amazing (please forgive me, I forgot our server’s name) and the food was delicious! We each got something to drink and we enjoyed our cocktails as well. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I had a wonderful service who name was Reti or Reda. He was wonderful and took his job to the next level. He was friendly as well as provided a higher class of service that made us feel special. We will be asking for his section every time we come to the Edison. The restaurant is bit load and the seats are somewhat difficult to seat in for a long length of time but the theme of the restaurant was great.
I did notice many supervisors throughout the evening which made me have an idea that they too should be dress in more of a period feel. Pin strip suits or black tux.
Very cool interior, excellent selection of drinks. great bourbon list. The seating was kinda cheap and the tables were VERY small. My salmon was so so but my wife's $38 steak was absolutely tasteless. I didn't even finish the small slice she gave me, over cooked as well. Also, her nice steak cam with fries and no veggie...?????? 2 drinks each and bad food for $135. not again, if you want to have a drink in a cool environment I would recommend it but eat before you go!
Great service, delicious food, authentic setting as well as ambiance, and a reasonable price are the main reasons eating at The Edison has been one of the best dining experiences of recent memory. I would definitely come back to eat here again regardless of the occasion, and I cannot think of a single person I would refrain from recommending it to. Many place either just make my expectations or just miss them, but this is the first restaurant I have been to in a long time that has GREATLY surpassed them. I VERY MUCH look forward to dining here again.
My wife and I decided to go to the Edison for Valentine’s Day/our first wedding anniversary and we were very happy with our experience. We made a reservation and checked in and work immediately shown it to our table. Our server, whose name escapes me, greeted us almost immediately and was attentive the entire night. Because it was an anniversary celebration for us, he did not charge us for our appetizer. The food was incredibly delicious and the drinks were tasty. It’s a little bit on the expensive side, but that is to be expected when dining at a restaurant located on Disney property. The music was postmodern jukebox, interspersed with a live singer and it was not too loud so we could carry on a conversation without shouting.
Based on our experience, I recommend this restaurant highly to anyone looking for a fun night out that is different then your typical restaurant experience.
We went for Valentine's Day dinner so that may have affected the overall experience - making it harder on the staff given the escalated business. Over all, though, it seems Disney spent more time on the Theming of the restaurant rather than teaching their cooking and bar staff how to make what was on the menu properly. My boyfriend ordered a rare steak (at 34$) and it was not rare and my burger (at 22$) had a patty too big in comparison to the rest of the ingredients. And for a restaurant that boasts that they are Known For their bar menu, mixed drinks, and specialty cocktails, they made both of are drinks improperly - my boyfriends mixed drink tasted only of whisky and my drink was simple made wrong. Love the theme, love the Steampunk, love the 1920's Flappers... will be great for pictures on Dapper Day or a night out. But, again, it seemed Disney cared more about the theme than actually it being a successful restaurant.
