Service slightly slow for second round of drinks. Vegetables in macro plate should have been cooked just a little more for texture. Went for potato wedges with aioli no longer on menu. Overall good.

The pork chop wasn’t as good as last time. They should go back to old recipe. It also wasn’t as big.

We sat the bar and it took forever to get refills on our drinks. There was only one bartender working and she was too busy filling drink orders for tables. The restaurant should have had another bartender! We left after one drink, as it was a challenge to get the bartender’s attention.

We took my mom here for her 87 birthday. We were met by a man who appeared to be the owner. He was very pleasant and seated us right away. The server was sweet and extremely attentive. My issue is with the food for the size and the price. The salmon tartare appetizer was pretty small for $24 as was the pasta bolognese. There were like six wide noodles in the whole dish, and it was $26. My cavatelle with kale pesto was a good size for $24. But the pasta was too al dente and the sauce too garlicky. The chocolate pecan pie from 4 and 20 bakery was delicious. The crust was perfect, because they clearly used good quality butter. The flourless chocolate cake was also good. I forget the price of the desserts. But I remember thinking they were high. And the lattes at $8 each were ridiculously overpriced. I would recommend the place to people in the neighborhood. But I certainly would not suggest people travel any distance to go there.

We chose this restaurant because of it's close proximity to the Park Avenue Armory. The food was good, the prices a bit high for the quantity. As a vegetarian I primarily have a pasta in meaty restaurants. I could have wished for more than about 1.5 cups of cavatelli. The kale pesto was no better than what I make at home. We probably won't be going back.

The food was good and our server was friendly, knowledgeable and fast. The outside seating is wonderful. Oddly, the experience began badly. We arrived for our 11am reservation to a locked door and were told they didn't open unto 11:30. We were rudely told we were mistaken, and had the door locked again on us. 2 other tables also arrived with 11am reservations. We all sat down outside to wait. Then the hostess arrived, opened the doors and began seating us all. Not sure why the staff inside did not know they were open at 11am, or why they were so rude to us all. The hostess at least was nice and welcomed everyone in. Strange start to an otherwise nice meal.

The East Pole is a useful restaurant in the neighbourhood. They give you a warm welcome and the food is consistently good. The washroom is very stylish!
I didn’t score them higher this time as we were quite late and there were only 2 other tables still eating so the atmosphere was not a buzzy as my previous visit. However we were glad that they accepted a booking for 10.15pm!

We haven’t been back since it re-opened from its ‘renovations’ and we were expecting something great. The food was vastly overpriced for the taste, portion size, and plating. The server then spilled the drinks slightly as he got tot he table and it got out my boyfriend’s shoe and table - the server didn’t realize and/or offer to help clean it up. There was mold on the ceiling and the covering on the walls was peeling and rolling. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.

The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. When we first walked it, we were happy to be there. Overall it was fine, but there were definitely issues. (1) my girlfriend’s Bloody Mary was not good, plain and simple. She has them all the time and this one was subpar. (2) All the food was a over-salted. Not dramatically and it still tasted good, but the eggs and potatoes were clearly over-salted. (3) This is my biggest issue: When you have an egg dish on the menu, and specifically an omelette, and more specifically, an omelette at $19.00, you serve bread with it, period! To order a mushroom omelette for $19.00 and then have to pay an additional $8.00 for bread takes some of the joy out of the meal. It’s not really about the money. I don’t mind spending money on quality food. It’s about what’s appropriate in restaurant service and this was a significant faux pas. I had to order potatoes too for another $8.00. So, it was $16.00 to add bread and potatoes. I don’t mind the potatoes, but the lack of bread is a major mistake.
Bottom line: Never serve eggs without including bread! That is just wrong. Even a greasy spoon diner knows this and they lost me today because of that. I am frequently in NYC and have a place near there. I would have loved to have found a new place, but they lost me with this today.

Ambiance is weak. Needs a little more warmth. Staff excellent. Calamari appetizer off the chain good. Food in general excellent. Pappardelle ragout dish excellent, but very small portion. No good if you're hungry. Desert excellent. I would recommend.

We've walked by this place on our way home and we had never visited, so one day we decided to stop and give it a try. From the outside it looks like a very cute spot. They have a few tables up front and most of the restaurant is towards the back the building. The hostess was really nice and welcoming but the waiters seemed to be having an off day because they did not treat us well. The food was just okay (nothing special) and it is honestly overpriced for the food we had. We are always down for a good meal and don't mind paying UES prices as long as its worth it. I did not feel like the food here was worth it. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Used to be one of my favorite places for a date. The two tops are offensively close together. When you drop 200 for a meal for 2, they can remove one 2 top and spread the remaining tables out. Instead they opt for greed. Its a shame because everything else is great especially the food. If you are three or four, not a problem as those tables are spaced better. A date for two? I'll avoid it

The East Pole is an excellent restaurant. The food is good albeit small portions. The service is excellent. The wine stewardess was fabulous! The noise level is far too high for any normal person. But, somehow, we persevered and the throng and their high pitched voices left. Either go early, arrive a bit later or eat outside if not too hot and humid.

Overpriced breakfast - $75 for two people. The food was bland and nothing too exciting to write about. I had coffee with my breakfast and was not offered a refill despite my cup sitting on the edge for my server to come back and refill. She saw my empty mug but never offered me a refill. My husband ordered the Bloody Mary. He said it was ok. My breakfast was the avocado toast with boiled eggs and my husband had the eggs over easy, beans, "black sausage", bacon, mushroom and tomatoes. We ordered the "black garlic home fries" for an additional $4 and that too was 'meh'. He gave me the sausages because it didn't taste right with him. I only took one bite because it was not appealing. I am from Asia and I eat a lot of things, but these sausages were very DIFFERENT. The restaurant could use some remodeling. Looks like there was a leak in the ceiling and tiles needing to be replaced. It's a tight fit around the small tables.
