I treated my bf to a date night here and it was great! Nice ambiance, relaxing Jazz music, great service and amazing food!! We Both had the Chicken Saltimbucca. It was delicious!! The only gripe I have is the sauce was a little greasy and acidic so my GERD didn't like it lol. But it was a great dinner otherwise! I recommend the risotto balls!!

The Earle is one of our “go-to” restaurants for special occasions. The menu has been consistent over time, while prices have gone up (in keeping with the post-COVID world). Food is very well presented & delicious. Located in the basement, the ambience is mellow, with soft, slightly muted lighting. Live piano music accompanies dinner starting at 7 pm. The Earle can get noisy, especially if a loud person or group is seated nearby. We started out in the back alcove, which can give the sense of being secluded, but had the unfortunate luck of having a group of three businessmen seated next to us early into our meal. There were times when we couldn’t hear each other, or the piano. The business party wasn’t being raucous, but clearly had no concept of “indoor voice.” Not the fault of the restaurant, just luck of the draw for this particular meal. I think next time we’ll request a booth, if available. We will continue to enjoy The Earle for special occasions. I would caution, however, about parking in the lot diagonally across, at Huron & Ashley. While most AA public lots are under $2 per hour, this lot charged us $9 for ~2 hours. It used to be the same prices as the other lots, but apparently is no longer controlled by the DDA. It’s also a “credit card only” lot, & doesn’t give a receipt without you asking. City-owned lots are nearby, & will be our choice in the future.

Service was ok at best — it was our first dinner after engagement and we put that in the notes (because we wanted the evening to be special), but not a word was said. Food was very good for my fiancée and pretty good for me.

Overall fantastic experience, lots of energy as the room filled up on a Friday night. Our server was there when we needed him but not overbearing. The Sommelier was excellent and we enjoyed her recommendations. I would say avoid the beef bourguignon. You’re paying $37.95 for what is essentially beef stroganoff, delicious but not worth the price point. The salmon in puff pastry is to die for however. Solid meal and would return if ever in Ann Arbor again.

It had been quite a few years since we ate at the Earle. Happy to see that it is still going strong. Very good attentive service. Appetizers were good but not particularly impressive, but our main dishes were excellent, which included three seafood dishes (one was a salmon in puff pastry, described by one of our party as a “Salmon Wellington”). Two had the sea scallops, and I opted for what was described as a Veal Scallopini, but was more accurately a Veal Marsala, in a wonderful creamy Marsala based sauce. Very Tasty.

The Earle is a regular go-to for a good conversation and great food. The menu is very consistent, and I miss the mussels special! The wait staff is excellent and the wine selection as well. The waitstaff has been with them for years and that says something. It's nice to have live music, especially non-intrustive pleasant guitar.

Perfectly cooked duck breasts and onion soup! Professionally friendly service. The only disappointment was the mocha chip ice cream which for the first time in many years of our partaking at your restaurant lacked its superb taste (please return to the original recipe!)

We have not been to the Earle in years (over 10) and we really enjoyed it. The food was very good--better than I remember last time-- and now that I have been to lots of other restaurants in AA over the past decade, watching the prices go up, the Earle is really pleasant to return to. It is not *quite* as overpriced as other places like Taste, and the ambiance is actually way better than I remember. Also, I forgot how great the wine list is. I am glad to find my way back to it!

Was there with a party of seven. Most dishes were average and pretty generic. Presentation was meh. I would have paid $25 for the same meals instead of average of $42. I polled with my visitors and all agreed it was poor to fair value for money.

My wife and I ate dinner at this restaurant while visiting Ann Arbor. THE MEAL WAS GREAT!!!!!!! The service was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. This place has set a standard that should be obtained by ALL levels of eateries in the food service industry. The salmon and shrimp dish my wife had was, (and these are her words) EXQUISITE!!!!!!! My four cheese penne pasta with chicken was so good that licking the plate clean was a definite possibility, but, for decorum's sake, I Dare not. Let me NOT forget the risotto balls. These little fried bits of other worldly goodness will make you swear off mozzarella sticks for good. If you are in Ann Arbor this place is a MUST visit. If you live in Ann Arbor, and have not been to this place, you do yourself a great disservice. This place is a definite must visit. And l WILL be back

I shared on Rest too. For the Valentines mid-week it was all good. The only bump was the mushroom caps app came with our entree. The waiter was good and attentive, and apologized. I had a side salad while waiting - with husband enjoying the complimentary bread basket. The decorations and cozy atmosphere were appreciated. Dessert was delicious. $24 for a ok Old Fashion. Most I’ve paid for a single Drink in memory. Nothing out of the ordinary, but again it’s valentines week for the restaurant business. We like the Earle.

I made the reservation for 9 people and stated that it was for a business, which is one of the questions. When we arrived at the restaurant we were in the brighter portion of the restaurant which was great. We were all chatting and talking about our day and then a gentleman came out and started playing the guitar right directly next to our table. He was fantastic, however, we were there for business purposes. Sitting us directly next to the musician was not appropriate. That being said the food was fantastic, everyone was very pleased. Our waitress seemed annoyed with us a few times, but she was attentive. I will definitely be back but maybe just look at where you put people when they are there for business and when a musician is playing.

While my wife's dinner was perfect, my pasta was warmish, not even warm and the bowl was cool. Flavors were great. My daughter had arranged to pay for our dinner as a birthday surprise. This didn't happen. I paid for the dinner but was credited later. No surprise dinner.

It was a very nice evening. The food was great. Our waiter was very personable and attentive. We have been coming to The Earle for 40 years. We enjoyed it always. We received two $100 gift certificates so we will be returning soon for another enjoyable dinner. I had escargot but prefer the type in melted garlic butter how The Earle use to make it. It still was wonderful. Thank you for the great evening.

An excellent venue for a gathering of friends and family. The food is among the best in Ann Arbor only exceeded by its copious wine and dessert menus. A definite return place for gourmets in search of a high-class restaurant with an unsurpassable and sophisticated atmosphere with a extremely attentive and caring staff.

We go to the Earle every year for our anniversary. Some years are good, some are bad, but it is our tradition. The food is usually good, the ambience is always great, but sometimes the service is poor. Unfortunately that was the case this year. Our waiter seemed disinterested, blunt and anxious to move us out of there. It was disappointing, but perhaps he was going through something in his life that was distracting him. Having this happen on such a special occasion was just a bummer. I will say the bartender and host staff was nice and pleasant.

Such a wonderful experience in every way. I’ll admit we’re a picky group. We like good service, a great wine selection, delicious food that comes out hot, gluten free options a must. The Earle has all of this. We’ve been looking for a special occasion go-to and finally found it after almost 2 years of looking in Ann Arbor/surrounding cities.
