All in all fairly disappointed. Service was only ok. Salads were good. Entrees were barely average. I had the linguini with sausage, cappicola and hot peppers. Plate was too small so if you tried to wind the pasta on your fork everything spilled on the table. Sausage was flavorless. My wife ordered the tenderloin and roquefort. Everything was drenched in the cheese sauce. The vegetables were unrecognizable. Tenderloin was tough. They got our drink orders wrong but they did correct it.
Luckily saved Valentine's night with a great dessert around the corner.
Most likely we won't go back.
We went to The Earle for my husband's birthday. The whole experience was wonderful. The service, food, etc. was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
First time either of us were here. Great recommendations from our waiter when undecided between entrees. Greatly appreciated his input and honesty. Both of our meals were excellent. Many thanks to the hostess who was reassuring and delayed our reservation when I called because we were being delayed with traffic and bad weather.
Warm welcoming place on a snowy night. Excellent food as usual. Duck breast is my go-to entree. Lamb chops and veal for the rest of the group. Kudos all around. Our guests were new to The Earle and were blown away by the size and the prices of the wine list.
Went for an early valentines dinner, we had a really good time, the food was delicious.
The servers were outstanding; truly the best I’ve ever experienced. The food was very good, but not as exceptional as the servers. I do think the price could have been a bit lower.
The food was delicious. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. I liked that she wasn’t afraid to make a suggestion when asked about specifics. The only drawback was the temperature inside. It was chilly.
We went to The Earle for our anniversary and enjoyed everything about the restaurant. The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious; we both decided on pasta dishes. I would strongly suggest finishing your meal off with their Crème Brûlée. I strongly recommend The Earle for anyone looking for a pleasant evening enjoying wonderful food and wine.
Birthday dinner for my dad the salmon in the Puff pastry was outstanding as were the scallops the wine a $73 bottle of ridge Zinfandel was awesome the bread as usual with terrific and I tried the bread salad
It was tasty as well
Just a bad night for the Earle. Paul the waiter was not very friendly or personable. The toranadoes were over peppered
We were truly disappointed to learn that we could not use Happy Hour discounts because we have secured a reservation through Open Table. When we brought this concern to the managers attention he simply responded the reason was due to the reservation - nothing more. We were frustrated and not happy.
Extensive wine selection and a great happy hour.
Food and service were excellent. This is our "go to" restaurant for a fine meal.
Dwayne was an excellent server, getting all the special changes to our orders perfectly. The food was delicious. The live music was delightful and it was quiet enough to allow for normal voice volumes for conversation
My wife and I went to The Earle for a date night. Service, ambiance, and the jazz trio was excellent. The food was delicious, just not spectacular in my opinion. Overall wonderful experience however.
Amazing meal! The salmon was terrific, and the red velvet cake was the best I have ever had. I can't wait to go back just for that.
Great atmosphere, great food!
Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating!
Excellent experience. Outstanding food and service. A special place. Will be back.
This restaurant is overrated. The live music is outstanding, ambiance good but decor is a bit dated, service is slow and menu items a bit stale. My steak was drowned in overly-salty cheese sauce. A martini costs $20, way over-priced. Won't be going back.
One of our favorite restaurant. Always have great food and a good time.
Our waiter Dwayne made our experience unforgettable. He’s one of the best .
Celebrated an anniversary. Was greeted with a warm “Happy Anniversary” by the hostess & our waiter Josh.
We went to The Earle for a special occasion on a Sunday night. The food was pretty good for a fancier italian restaurant. The ambiance wasn’t great because they were moving chairs into the center of the restaurant for what appeared to be a floor cleaning. It was 8 PM at night so that made it seem less fancy and more like we were in the way. Service was good overall and we enjoyed our time. It’s probably not a place we will visit again but it was enjoyable.
We had a party of 12 for a company dinner. Was impressed right away with the atmosphere. Then the service, drink selection and food just made it better and better. Highly recommend
We are very fond of the Earle, it has great owners and has been a major supporter of the arts. The ambiance is good, it has a good wine list and, in general, the food is great. I have noticed, however, that the main courses seem to have an extraordinary amount of oil or fat in them to the point where there is a pool of fat at the bottom of the plate. I tried to avoid this by ordering the roasted vegetable vermicelli but even this was swimming in oil. I know that a lot of restaurant goers seem to like expect this but for those on a low-fat diet, the options are slim. Yes, I am sure we will continue to support them and, hopefully, there will be some more fat reduced options in the future. The desserts were delish and I recommend the almond pie.
I went to the Earle with a friend for restaurant week. She had the duck and I had the whitefish and we both agreed that the entrees and desserts were excellent. The restaurant is located in the basement of a building and it would be romantic if they updated the decor, which is a bit out of date. I don't think I would go back at full price, as I would rather have the ambiance of one of the other restaurants in town.
The first time we ate at the Earl was in 1982, and it has changed very little, but for the better. I don't think I've ever had a better prepared meal there than last week. Wine list is awesome, service was prompt and courteous, and live music was setting up just as we were leaving. Highly recommended!
Great place that has some of the best food in Ann Arbor.
Visited during Restaurant Week so the restaurant was VERY busy, but I must say that the wait staff was friendly, experienced and not flustered by the extra diners. Overall, food was very good and the value was exceptional. Visiting during Restaurant Week reminded us about the local "gem" that The Earle truly is. We will be back.
Good food. One of our meals (duck) was fantastic. The Mezzogiorno was alright but not spectacular. The sommelier gave good enough advice, and our waitress was excellent. Dessert (cheesecake, chocolate mousse) were both excellent. Overall a good experience but not amazing.
Salmon was excellent, calamari needed more cooking, bean soup was not good, delmonico was tough and sauce flavor was poor. Normally, food is much much better.
We absolutely love it!!!
Love the atmosphere and quiet. Food was ok
It was restaurant week and stresses the limits of every restaurant. Super busy night so not up to usual standard yet still an enjoyable evening with great food and wine. Good to see the town and restaurants so vibrant this week.
Kaitlyn (who has replaced Steve) was calm and cool under fire and a pleasure.
The Earle is one of our top 2 favorites in A2. Best wine list with best prices and one of the reasons we keep coming back.
This is one of our favorite restaurants, we go there often
I have dined here numerous times and have had great experiences. This time not so much. I felt service was rushed and servers not friendly. The food was below normal quality. The risotto balls were cold and tasteless, the onions inside crunchy and undercooked. Maybe because of restaurant week. But, not a great way to showcase the place to someone who had never been there before. I'll think twice about returning. What I shame. Usually, a great dining experience.
Me and my girlfriend went here for dinner. The food sucked. Tasted like catering food. I was genuinely shocked with the quality of the food. Alcohol was the only good thing about this place. Worst restaurant in Ann Arbor. Please don’t your money. The check came faster than the service.
Food was very good. Service was slow on an evening when the place wasn’t overly crowded.
