boneless duck breasts sautéed medium rare...pan sauced with brandy and a ginger enhanced demi-glace...with peaches and dried currants. served with potato turnip purée.
sea scallops sautéed with mushrooms and a hint of garlic...pan-sauced with sherry and cream... served with rice.
7 oz. skirt steak marinated in balsamic vinegar, garlic, Dijon, and fresh rosemary and grilled… with potatoes and vegetable
The food was a big disappointment. Very low quality, poor seasoning, and very over priced for what you receive. Our server was very good. The wine options also by the glass were flavorless and seemed old. Overall we had high hopes based on the reviews but left very disappointed.
First time and the waiter was great. Wine list is excellent and the food was good. But… I reserved for a table for 4 and noted it was a special occasion. The table was very small - better for two. It was odd - the waiter needed to keep removing things just to make room for a normal dinner for four. It wasn’t comfortable and the staff seemed indifferent to the cramped space. Probably not a $300 dinner I will repeat.
The music was nice - it would have been nice if we could have actually seen the musicians. If you go here for dinner, make sure you aren’t crammed into a corner.
A great evening! Great music. Incredible food. Excellent wine selection. Our first time. Definitely a little old school, but The Earle still has it!
Abigail was fantastic server, Caitlin magnificent sommelier. Veal and chicken paillard and bean/pork soup absolutely delicious. The wine list is second to none as are cocktails. Love this place; Ann Arbor jewel!
Went for birthday dinner, they gave me a free sorbet and my waiter was super nice
We ALWAYS go to The Earle to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and when out of town guests come to visit....
because we know it will be a fabulous dining experience!
Last night was our anniversary and it couldn't have felt more special.
Food delicious, waitress accommodating and atmosphere made the evening very special.
They even gave us a gift certificate for our next visit!
Enjoyed the food greatly, sometimes thought the flavors were too strong but nonetheless the meals were delicious and the ambience was great. Was a little loud but I preferred it that way so that I could have my conversations without thinking others were listening and could laugh out loud.
The Earle never disappoints, even during a pandemic. This is my favorite AA restaurant. The ambiance is nostalgic with a live 3 piece jazz band. The bartender was very friendly and made perfect martinis! We ordered 3 appetizers for the table (crab cakes, goat cheese and stuffed mushrooms) and they came timely and were all delicious! The white fish dinner was like no other white fish, in a very good way! The filet with Roquefort sauce, OMG, so good! The side of vegetables were even so tasty and fresh. The seafood pasta dish was enjoyed till the very last bite. The peppered tenderloin was also perfectly prepared. A magnum of Nickel & Nickel 2013 Cabernet paired well with all of our entrees and was enjoyed by all. They have a wonderful wine list. The Earle is a special place that we are so thankful has not missed a beat with providing high quality food and service during these very difficult times for the hospitality industry as a whole. Thank you!!
The Earle did not disappoint. The service was excellent. Our server Lisa was an absolute joy to dine with. The overall experience was just what we were looking for. It has ambiance, allure, mood and great drinks . The band added just what was needed to make the dining experience pleasurable for a New Year Eve celebration. The food was good some of the dishes had a bit too much salt not horrible but noticeable.
Wine list was almost overwhelming with excellent choices. The calamari, duck and sea scallops were outstanding. The staff was amazing.
Had a great NYE dinner. Live jazz was just the right volume, not loud. Would recommend.
Attentive service. Reliably very good food. Outstanding wine selection and sommelier guidance. An amazing gem for our town. A seemingly hidden basement bistro; anyone who has been here for awhile knows about this place which accounts for its popularity.
The food at the Earle is always spectacular. We love the peppercorn tenderloin.
Great for a first date or any date night. Live jazz is an added treat. Highly recommend, .
Very nicely decorated room. Great service and food was simply amazing.
Perfect place to celebrate anniversary, everything we ordered was amazing!
Solid venue for a night out
An Ann Arbor institution which must be on every local’s restaurant bucket list.
Nice place, but was cold when we were there the other day.
We had a lovely family Christmas celebration with three generations. The private room in the back was perfect for our elders who are hard of hearing. And it felt like our own personal party. The wait staff was attentive and the food was wonderful.
Took my partner here for a date night and we had the absolute best time. Couldn’t recommend more.
Great food recommendations from our waitress.
The Earle has expanded the price ranges for their menu. The duck on their menu is one of my favorites in the fall and winter and not something I would make myself. The tenderloin dishes are always a good option.
Holiday family dinner. Food and service was excellent. The jazz music was a plus. Highly recommend The Earle!
Great food and great music. If you're a wine connoisseur, you'll love the selection.
Appetizers and salads were fantastic. Then the entrée exceed that standard. Craft cocktails were perfect!
The entire staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend The Earle!
We started in the bar, very cozy, great service. Our table in the main dining room had such unique ambience. Totally wonderful smooth jazz playing throughout dinner. Food was excellent, but I missed my favorite salmon Wellington, but the duck was very good.
What we got was not what was portrayed on the website.
1. The place is dated and floors dirty
2. The server didn’t remove dishes from the table until we asked
3. Kids drinks were filled with water
4. The steaks had a plastic taste
5. Scallops were salty
I could go on but feel when you spend over $350 for a meal you expect better. Now I doubt how they are able to get so many reviews especially if they are rated high. I would rather have gone to Olive Garden and would have gotten better value for money.
Food was great and Juliana is the best waitress ever!
The Earle never disappoints. Our very favorite place! Food, wine, service is always wonderful!
Got to make a reservation. Had a wonderful waitress and the food was outstanding! Only negative was that it took a while for drinks and food to come out. Such a nice cozy atmosphere
Great meal with our kids and their roommates/friends.
Staff were great, food was excellent, and there is nothing that is so relaxing than walking in the door to the Earle beautiful atmosphere, perfect music.
My favorite special occasion go to restaurant. I especially like that staff all are masking.
Always a wonderful experience dining here. Always too notch service and wonderful food. Great wine selection. Don't skip dessert!
We were easily able to make reservations at The Earle, unlike other establishments in the area and of this quality. From the moment we entered the premises, the service was impeccable. The food was delicious with good portions and arrived steaming, Very fresh tasting vegetables and perfectly cooked main dishes. Due to needing gluten free, vegetarian main dishes, we decided to try the Earle. We will be back again for any other special occasion!!!
Great food, great service, great music.
The main food was amazing! Was disappointed with the mashed potatoes though. Also sad nothing said by waitress for birthday or on desert.
