The Eagle Short North
The sides were very good. Our server was excellent!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Allesana. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. Cheers, The Eagle Short North
First time visiting, and I’ll be back soon! The food was great and the mac’ and cheese was out of this world. Staff was friendly, quick and we were immediately sat. The fried chicken sandwich was really good, and the chicken was incredibly crispy. We had the hush puppies as a starter, and they were great. The comeback sauce was amazing, I almost ordered another set. My only complaint, which is very minuscule, is the seating. Inside they have booths or bar. The booths are “sharing” spaces, so you could potentially sit with people you don’t know. I understand this saves space, but I had a friend visiting from out of town and we didn’t want to share a booth with random people. The bar was fine, and was equipped with hooks for bags/jackets and had a ton of outlets for phones. So it worked out that we sat at the bar. Again, I’d go back in a heartbeat!!
Thank you for the review and the feedback about seating. We do try to maximize the space as best we can here. I am glad that you all had a good time. We hope to see you soon. Jarod Klever - GM
Group of 3 people. Were seated at a booth. And although we placed a reservation, we were not asked, but "told" that we'd need to share that booth because other people would be coming. This was a first. We left, the staff didn't seem to mind. Incredibly rude and unexpected treatment from a restaurant. Glad we were able to give someone else business.
We really enjoyed this place, the food was great and the service was also great. We were celebration our 54th wedding anniversary and we mentioned it to the server Brian and later the Manager came to our table and congratulated us and said she would take something off our bill. She took 1/2 off. What a nice thing to do.
We had to wait 20 minutes passed my reservation time and the host girls apologized with an indifferent attitude (childish: no eye contact). The bartender was friendly and quick, especially since the other guest was indecisive on what drink they wanted. The waitress though, was not nice very nice and made us feel rushed. The hush puppies and cheese appetizer were delicious. The chicken was great, but the sides were just ok. I would maybe come back for takeout. Columbus is concentrated with restaurants, service is just as important for me to come back than just the food.
Sean, I apologize for the less than satisfying experience. This is not an example of the standard we like to set here. I would like to get your email so we could discuss more specifics. Thanks, Kevin Campbell
Everything way overpriced
The food was just so so
Tried it once won’t be back.
Parking was ridiculous too.
Sage was great! Food was delicious and generous portions.

Excellent food but service was lacking. Also wish there were Southern desserts.
Thank you for the review. We take this feedback very seriously and we will discuss as a team how we can improve our service standards. We hope to see you again soon. Jarod Klever - RMP

Thank you so much for your kind words, Abbyd. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. Cheers, The Eagle Short North
Great service and great food. Traveling in from DC, and I needed to head to The Eagle every time I’m in Columbus.
Food is always good!
Reluctant to try....big mistake. Great place, new favorite
Enjoyed a lunch date. The food was delicious.
The food was very good and reasonably priced. The macaroni and cheese was excellent! We will be going back without a doubt.
Great food. The chicken is amazing... I can't wait to go back.
They are a communal seating restaurant, so the idea of getting reservations is a little moot. The food is good, though, even if the place is a little loud. You almost have to sit at the bar to get any semblance of privacy, which is pretty funny.
The food was great. The best horseradish mashed potatoes I've ever had
Love this restaurant. Great food and service. We took my daughter for her 25th birthday and everyone loved it.
The service was amazing here. Loved the very masculine, yet warm and welcoming decor. Ambiance was good as it wasn't too quiet, yet allowed conversation.
I tried the chicken (of course!), succotash and spoon bread. I really could have eaten the succotash and spoon bread by themselves. They both were delicious. The chicken was okay. The skin wasn't quite as crispy as I would have liked and the seasoning on it fell flat for me. My dining companion said hers readd dry--I didn't have that issue, which was impressive for white meat. The chicken wasn't better than the fried chicken at The Pearl, or even Hot Chicken Takeover. I hate to say it because I wanted to love that chicken. My other companion raved about the shrimp po' boy, though!
For a place that calls itself a beer hall, was very unimpressed with the beer selection. I'll be back for the sides, though!
All the food we had was fantastic and we will be returning because of the food. The service was less than good and 3 of us are in the service industry so we tend to give a lot of leeway to servers because we've all had bad nights. But this was just not good. We all ordered main courses and then collectively six sides. When the mains came out he realized he forgot to put the sides order in. Which ok it happens. The manager tried to fix it and the sides eventually came and were very very good. But the server still never came back to ask if we needed more drinks, you ask how the food was, to make sure everything came out ok, we had to ask two different people for checks and boxes, it was a mess. That being said the food was so damn good we're gonna be back. We will just know to expect not great service when we do.
The best macaroni and cheese I have ever eaten!!! Very cheesy! Yum
Great food! Exceptional service! Fast!
Our server was laid back but on top of our service! Food was awesome. We had a great time.
Great food! Celebrated hubby’s 48th birthday with friends. Food was delicious as always and their happy hour drinks were to die for! Great comfort food and a nice variety of options.
This location is more casual than the one in OTR in Cincinnati. But it’s very affordable for what you receive! I don’t think the chicken is that wonderful but when dipped in hot honey it seems that way.
Dining with out of town family from New York. Excellent service for a large party. Definitely will return in the near future
Food was amazing! Service was bad from the moment we walked in. Had a reservation, but host couldn’t find it and had an attitude. Showed her the email confirmation and she then seated us. Waitress was kind but not overly friendly.
It was ok
The server was not very helpful as this was our first time. Good was ok. We got the bacon snack where tough.
Delicious. One of my favorite comfort food restaurants
The waitress we had was not good! She took way to long to bring the food out and fill drinks.
Great birthday dinner!
Best chicken in town. Great service. Highly recommend!
We were pretty disappointed with this restaurant. We came in from out of town and we're sad that out of all the places we could've went to that we ended up here and the experience was close to awful.
We ordered our drinks and they literally look 18 minutes to bring them. At 5pm on a Monday when the restaurant was nearly dead, they claimed the bar that we were sitting right in front of was "busy".
We ordered a ton of food to try. I am a vegetarian and my husband eats meat. We ordered 5 different sides to try, 2 appetizers and my husband ordered fried chicken. He said that the fried chicken was "Same as anywhere else" and EVERY SINGLE side we tried was very very underseasoned and lacking.
The service was very low-end, and when we were done trying everything and wanted to order another drink our server was no where to be found. Then when she eventually showed up, she placed the bill on the table and left not even asking if we would like something else. We had only had one drink each and was never asked if we'd like more. 15 minutes later when she finally returned, we ordered more drinks and they took another 15 minutes to get to us.
Once we decided it was a lost cause and got up to leave, we couldn't find the server once again, and had to leave our cash with the other people at the table beside us because this restaurant is communal seating.
The only saving grace was that it was Happy Hour so we didn't spend an arm and a leg on this lack luster food. I would choose any other place on that street before this restaurant.
Had a 7:45 reservation and was sat down immediately upon arrival. Everything was delicious and perfect. The blackberry jam for the biscuits is to die for! I just wish the chicken was a little crispier, still worth ordering though
Great southern cuisine!
My husband and I decided to have dinner here before going to the Blue Jackets game and I’m glad we chose to dine here. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very inviting. We will definitely go back with friends!
