The Eagle - OTR
Upon arriving the hostess was very unprofessional. We said a reservation was in our name. Her response was I don’t see it on mines. She took us to our seats and I showed her our reservation and with a smirk on her face she replied with okaaaaaaay have a nice meal. Once was my favorite restaurant but I will never go again because of her.
Embarrassed to admit this is our first time but we will be back!!! Yum!!! He had the whole chicken; I had the half. Oh so delicious flavor and crispy without being too much breading. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful. The spicy honey is a great added kick of flavor. We shared cole slaw, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy. I loved them all though I would have loved the taters without horseradish. Service was quick and attentive without being rushed. But we had lots of leftovers. On street parking was easy.
The Chicken was delicious, we loved it!
Mac n Cheese - very under cooked, sauce runny and pasta barely cooked. When I asked the server about replacing, he took it away and said, any they had would be the same and he did not ask if I'd like a substitute. He did take it off the bill. Collard Greens - yuck very strong vinegary taste, could not taste onions, garlic, ham/bacon or any other flavor.
Felt the chicken was a bit dry, and the wait for food was longer than the last time I was here. But overall was very good, service was excellent. happy with the experience.
Nice, competent and fast service during a business day lunch. their chicken cannot be beat. Good value, nice area of OTR for lunch, plenty of metered parking on Vine street.
The fried chicken was phenomenal, the waiter recommended us a couple sides to get and took really good care of us!
Everything was great!
Birthday for my wife. Best fried chicken I have ever had. Spoon Bread & Mac&Cheese also outstanding.
Simply the best!
Food and service were excellent. Hope gave us some great recommendations. We’ll definitely be back!
I have always enjoyed the Eagle Restaurant and today was no exception. The food, although a little salty, is flavorful and plentiful. Service is warm and welcoming while cocktails are truly worth the price. Bartender Ben is a great host who makes it all so much more enjoyable. Please stop by and try it. You won't regret it!
Decent food served on inconvenient serviceware by marginally pleasant server. No attention to accoustics in the design leave a very noisy dining area
Food was fantastic as always. The service was quick, but the server could have been a bit more professional and friendly. Otherwise, all was good!
Service was very good, and the food is always amazing, first time I had the chicken sandwich, juicy chicken, on a roll with spicy sauce and Cole slaw, the only negative comment is the bun, although it is delicious, it's just a bit to large. The spoonbread, greens, and mash potatoes are delicious!
Excellent food, service and comfortable seating; salads especially fresh - just right
Cameron, our waiter, was fantastic! He helped us choose our dinner items and everything he recommended delicious.
My favorite place to eat in Cincinnati. It is a must every time I am in town.
The food was OK. Spoon bread was good. Chicken sandwich not so much. Menu selection is rather minimal. I made the reservation then when we arrived there was no individual table so we had to share a booth. The other gaggle of women talked so loud I could not carry out a conversation with my daughter in town from NY. Very disappointing overall.
This was our 2nd time there. Everything about it is amazing
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday. This my second time eating here, and her third. The experience was everything we expected. We had their specialty, a whole fried chicken. This chicken is exceptional. Very tasty, and their sides are just as delicious. We had the collard greens, Mac & cheese, and kale and sausage appetizer. We added a shrimp and grits side that they made up for us. We were a party of four and had just one side of each, which was enough. We also left with some chicken to take home, as the pieces are large. I was also extremely pleased with the final bill! Great time!
The food was really good and the service was good, too. :)
Food is delicious comfort food. It took awhile for the bartender to notice when our drinks were empty, and pretty sure she forgot to ring in our food, but it all ended well.
We’ve been here quite a few times and love the food. This time we had terrible service. The waitress was not attentive whatsoever and was very irritating to listen to. Disappointed, but will keep coming back to enjoy the food.
Best fried chicken in Cincinnati. And everything else is excellent too, whether it's a sandwich or a side.
Good food chicken was delishous
Mac and cheese was very tasty.
The drinks were great. Food was ok. We sat at a communal table for our date night out without our kids. It was with a mom and her intrusive 2 kids. The waitress forgot my second drink and brought it after eating and ready for the check.
Food was well cooked. Sides were good. Chicken was okay. Flavor was missing for me. Wife & I got BlackBerry lemonade (Non Alcoholic) which was 100% tart. Price is good for a downtown restaurant but just wasnt that good for me to come back.
Was great! Reservations got us in and they were spot on on time
Hope they start taking reservations all the time!
As usual, food and beer selection were fantastic. Our server was great, attentive and patient with the kids that were with us. Love the cozy atmosphere in the winter.
Our first visit- we made reservations and were seated right away. If sitting at a table with other folks bothers you (it didn't matter to us), don't go (shared seating). The spoon bread was very good as was the chicken, although it was not as crispy as we like it? It was very noisy- almost to the point where you couldn't carry on a conversation with each other. Service was good and the food came out quickly- pricing was reasonable.
The food is always delicious. The bartenders were fantastic, and the drinks were amazing (beer, bloody mary, eagle tea). The mac n' cheese was to die for, and I always love the southern salad... My boyfriend and father both enjoyed the fried chicken. The only part I wasn't a fan of was the attitude of the hostess. I'm sure she was busy, but it never helps the atmosphere to have a sour first impression.
We made reservations for lunch and they were definitely needed as there were people waiting. The restaurant is very loud. Hard to have a conversation. Additionally, I didn’t like the communal seating, had we known (we’d never dined there before), I’d have chosen another restaurant. My husband and I were on a date and they sat a child, mom, and grandma with us and the child didn’t want to be there and made the atmosphere miserable for the whole table. The food was okay, but not enough for me to go back. I thought the prices were great though for the portion sizes. Waitress was excellent.
Birthday dinner was good
Our server, Hope was terrific! Friendly, super fast service and great recommendations for first-timers.
Delicious food as always!! And great service. Can't wait to come back.
Took about 40mins to get our food, but once we did it tasted fantastic.
Excellent food in a fun atmosphere. Always a great time
Get a baby changing station. Very inconvenient for new parents. Also don't bring our food out when we are not at the table. Thanks for the stress.
Best chicken sandwich on the planet!
