The Eagle - Louisville
The chicken was amazing and only surpassed by the service. All the sides were excellent... we will be back.
The food was great as usual, but the service in the outdoor patio was not great.
Everything thing was really good. The only negative was when we got the bill and a glass of “house” Chardonnay was $14!! A little surprised at that one. When questioned I was told that that was the correct price .
Thanks for the kind words Tim, I apologize about the pricey wine! Next time your in, ask for the the general manager and I would love to buy you a glass on the house! Thanks again! -Kellen, GM
The four of us all had chicken 3 people had chicken belt and 1 person had 1/2 chicken. Sides consisted of Mac and cheeses and fries and fritters. Food was excellent. They were having trouble with draft beer taps. Long wait for our beer. I will return.
I love going to The Eagle and have always enjoyed my experience. I had a family gathering this weekend and there were six of us together. Food was great, however we sat for almost an hour before our food came out and the restaurant didn’t appear to be overly busy. I have never had to wait long here. Other than that, food again was great as always.
Solid food... extremely slow service. Not a good place if you have young kids
The Eagle did not disappoint! Top notch service and the food was amazing. Best fried chicken I’ve had in a long time! Will be back! Definitely put in a reservation a day before!
Hi, Jennifer Thanks so much for the review! We strive for superb guest satisfaction and it seems we did a great job! We are glad you fell in love with the chicken as well! Come see us soon!- Kellen, GM
Great fried chicken at a reasonable price. excellent Mac and cheese and biscuits also.
Great down home comfort food. Delicious Chicken
Great food and service
Delicious food...homemade biscuits with blackberry jam-YUMMY!! Had 5:15 reservations on a graduation night (college graduation), place was busy but we were called back at exactly 5:15. After seated, waited approx 15 mins before server came to us, once approached our table, very apologetic stating she was serving out on patio, and they forgot to tell her that she now had tables inside. Very sweet and apologized several times. Service was great and friendly, food came in timely manner
Great bar atmosphere but this restaurant has a very small meal menu!
First time there for a graduation lunch. Very crowded but we had made reservations and got our seats in a timely manner. Even though it was crowded our waitress was very courteous and friendly. Food was very good but chicken had a little kick to it. Would recommend.
We never received our food. We left a gift card for the drinks and appetizer and left the restaurant. We arrived for our reservation at 5:45 and was seated around 6 pm. We were seated in off in a dark corner by an exit door. We were served drinks and appetizer and ordered. We waited for a while for the 2nd round of drinks as our server took a while to get back to us. I noticed she was taking the drink order of a couple that just came in. Server came to us to tell us our order will be out shortly. About 15 min later the manager game out said that they were putting the finishing touches on our order. Server came back 2 min later and asked if the manager came by and offered us waters. 20 minutes later the couple that came in a while after us, received their order which appeared to have some of the same items we ordered. At 7:20 another order came out of the kitchen and wasn’t ours so we left. This is the first in my life that I have
ever felt that I had to leave. We will not return. Oh and it was our wedding anniversary.
This is my 4th time eating here. The food is always awesome!
Food was excellent, waiter was a little slow and not much of a personality, but overall a good experience. One issue was fruit flies were all around our table, we sat indoors.
Best fried chicken ever!
Wonderful service and mighty fine vittles! :) I especially love the chicken; it was well seasoned. I look forward to visiting again the next time I'm in Louisville.
Beat Fried Chicken in Louisville. My top 3 overall. Order the High Life. Comes in a giant mug.
We lucked out and got there just in time to get on the patio like we wanted. All the appetizers (get the bacon) were great and the fried chicken yummy!
Always good food and service
Not very accommodating. Staff seemed put off by the large table. Difficult getting any beverage service. Seemed short staffed. This is the second consecutive time this has happened. We won’t be back
Took forever to order and receive food - 180 degree difference from the last time we went when the restaurant was less busy. Lots of great options for kids...but not very helpful if they take forever to arrive and your kids are hangry. I'll be back, but will definitely avoid times when there are only one or two spots left / when there's likely to be a service crunch.
When you go to Louisville you had better be ready for two major foods, fried everything and BBQ. It is usually very good, casual and fun.
The Eagle would be one of the best in town for fried chicken. It is crunchy outside hot and juicy inside. It's about as good as I have ever had. The sides of spoonbread,
Mac and Cheese, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes are all outstanding. Service was quick and attentive. Worth the trip and make a reservation.
Me and my boyfriend went for our prom and we loved the food and service. I highly recommend! We even talked about going back soon!
Amazing as always, one of our fav places!!
I didnt care for any of the food. Chicken was greasy and salty. Sweet potatoes was hard, greens was vinegary with no flavor. I was very disappointed we will not return.
Great food and nice environment!!
The staff was as great as the food. I took an elderly relative and they were very attentive and accommodating even though it meant changing table reservations around at the last minute. They were fast and efficient and never made us feel as if we were causing a problem. As someone who has worked in the restaurant business, I was very impressed.
Food was amazing... chicken delish, sweet potatoes, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and the kale dip all great... greens a little too vinegary... will go back!!
Food was not as good the second time The server was not too bad. Food was better on my first visit which was Valentine’s Day
Great dinner. Best chicken I’ve had and we got very personal service from Amy the manager. Highly recommended!
45 minute wait to be seated when we made a reservation and then waited another 45 minutes for our food. We were provided a free appetizer which helped ease the sting of waiting so long. The food was good.
Fantastic food, and great atmosphere. We had a weird table in the corner behind the bar and I think our server forgot about us at times for water refills (needed more than expected with the spicy honey) but been here a few times and it never disappoints. Fantastic spot.
I normally don't eat meat but my husband highly recommended this place. Because he ate at one with our daughter and friends in Cincinnati and loved it! So I decided to take his mom and our son to eat there. We didn't have to wait at all to be seated which is good and bad. Because my hubby said the one in Cincinnati has at least an hour wait. Long story short the server had way too many tables for her to handle so she wasn't around much. After taking our order she disappeared. We ordered a lot of food for 3 people. The spoonbread, kale salad, French fries, chicken sandwich, shrimp to boy, and a whole chicken. The chicken was very greasy as if it has been cooked and sat in a warmer like KFC buffet. Just drowning in it's on grease. Honestly if it wasn't for my mother in law and son. I probably would have left. With that said I would have complained too if I did not have them with me. We brought the entire chicken home and I had to throw it out because it was so greasy and over cooked.
Over all experience not good:(
Next level fried chicken, fun atmosphere and good service. Try the succotash, spoon bread and cheesy mac. Good selection of tap micro brews and hello, bourbon flights.
My family and I loved our meal at The Eagle. We have the fried chicken, fried chicken sandwiches and the kale salad. We also had the mac and cheese and fries as sides. All of the food was outstanding. This is not the place to go for low cal fare, but the if you are in the mood for comfort this is the place to go. I also enjoyed the bourbon flight! We will be back on our next visit to Louisville or Cincinnati.
Tasty fried chicken and lots of southern sides... I had a small kale salad which was very good as well. The menu is somewhat limited but they are known for the fried chicken so go for it!
On vacation with family. First stop after getting off the road. The ambiance is Lu rly and it’s hit a great feel. However the food is hit and miss. The bacon that everyone raves about literally felt and looked like it was dipped and spread with lard first. The menu is all a la cart and the portions are not very big in terms of sharing ( mac and cheese was very small). The kale salad was good and the pier boy was a decent size and tasted good. The chicken sandwich was mediocre as were the collards. Biscuits also weren’t anything out of this world.
Just didn’t live up to the expectations set by the website and the decode and feel. Services was friendly but spotty. Manager gave us free biscuits because our were burner and a new batch took forever to make . So as I said friendly service and it spotty. It’s also in an adorable part of the city so there is that !
