The Eagle - Louisville
The food is always good. We frequent the Eagle. We brought out of town company there Sunday night and we were disappointed . The food order was incorrect , several items, and they ran out of FRENCH FIES. How does that happen.
Don’t blame the waiter. The manager took an appy off our bill for the inconvenience .
Great food, great atmosphere
we had fruit flies everywhere and the service was slow.
Great bar with good food and great bar service.
Everyone in our group enjoyed the food and the waiter was wonderful.. We sat outside on a beautiful night .
We will come back !!!!!!!
All good! We will be back. Food delish!
The eagle is a relaxing place to eat, talk, and visit. We sat inside, but there is a nice outdoor area.
The restaurant was excellent. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was absolutely incredible and especially for the price. I would recommend this place to everyone!!
My friends and I have gone to the Eagle for a number of special occasions (they always seem to do well at accommodating larger groups). The food is great. Chicken, sides, apps...never a bad one. The family style deal is superb. Atmosphere is good, drinks are solid. Service generally is good, but it was not ideal on this occasion (server was friendly, but I felt like we were flagging him down more than he was paying attention to us and anticipating needs--I say that as a constructive criticism).
The fried chicken is excellent and the price can’t be beat! I was iffy on the mash potatoes... excited about the description but wasn’t quite what I’d hoped (but still good, just not the flavor explosion I’d anticipated from the menu description).
Service was excellent. Very attentive and speedy. Ambiance was great. Will absolutely return!
Great fried chicken, macaroni, grilled cheese and sweet potatoes. We will return for another meal next time we visit Louisville.
I took a group of colleagues to The Eagles recently for lunch. Everyone was wowed by the food. I had the 1/2 chicken, which was amazing when the spicy honey was added to it. There was not much of a lunch crowd, but service was quite slow. For example, I had to specifically request that our order be taken. Otherwise the team at The Eagle we very pleasant.
Food, cocktail and service good. But music and noise level way too much. Not into shouting to my dinner partner.
We had a great time. The atmosphere was great. We just stayed and talked for hours and had a few drinks. It was a very inviting place and friendly staff.
We went because our friend loves fried chicken. I found the restaurant in the local dining guide. We were not disappointed. The fried chicken was delicious. Crispy with a little bit of a spicy touch to it. We had fries and grits for sides. Delish!
Thanks for the stars Susan! Mandi Mills - Bar Manager
Awesome food, fried chicken is superb
Great selection of side dishes all very tasty
Bar drinks and selection of beer i/ bourbon is expansive
Service could be a bit better.
Overall highly recommend
It was the worst service I have ever experienced in Louisville. They only had one waitress for the entire patio. I really like the food but will never return.
We lover bringing friends here - our favorite chicken place! We consistently order too much food because everything is so good 💗
Very unique eating experience, different than anywhere else i know. Fried chicken is awesome, kale salad is awesome, grits are awesome...
I take business partners there for the unique setting and food, because they aren't going to get something like it from wherever they are from...
Outstanding food and great service. Always a good experience here
Everything was terrific. Will be back! Fresh and sooo good
The Eagle is a fun place to go with excellent food and excellent service! Highly recommended.
Food was OK, but every time we ordered a beer, the server would come back and tell they were out of that beer. Server was not very knowledgeable about the products availability. Was pretty disappointing
It was our daughter‘s 21st Birthday dinner. The service and food was amazing!
A group of friends and I visited The Eagle in Louisville. The beer selection was awesome, the candied bacon was the perfect appetizer! We decided on the family style dinner with Mac & Cheese and Horseradish mashed potatoes. It came with a wonderful kale salad, and a spoon bread that was to die for! Our server was terrific, and the atmosphere was just lovely. Thank you for a wonderful evening!!
The food was great as always. They were out of spoon bread which was kind of odd for 5pm on a Saturday. No one acknowledged us at our table for about 15 minutes or so when we finally went to ask about a server. Restaurant wasn’t overly packed at this time so I’m not sure what was going on.
The bar tenders ate with their fingers behind the the bar it was disgusting. One wolfed French fries the other was eating some sort of dip dish. Disgusting
Our first time experience at The Eagle was AWSOME! Server, Anna could not have been more fabulous. The food was outstanding, tasty and served hot, LOVED IT! Love, love, love the atmosphere. The mgr on duty even stopped and said hello and gave status of our dinning room order. We will return for sure...with friends & family too. Thanks The Eagle Rest, you nailed it.
We had reservations and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. The server was very helpful and attentive. We came to try some of Louisville’s best fried chicken and were not disappointed. The chicken was delicious! Our party of four shared 1.5 whole chickens and two sides (which also were good) and we did not leave hungry. Highly recommend The Eagle for the fried chicken.
Our favorite place for hot chicken when friends travel to town!
Glad to hear, Doug! -Kellen, GM
Great spot with a wonderful outdoor patio. Super dog friendly and delicious food! The fried chicken is a little greasy but so good!
Celebrating a coworker’s birthday!
Sarah, we're happy to hear you chose The Eagle! -Kellen, GM
My mom and I really enjoyed the “southern spread”. It was a delicious assortment of snacks. My mom especially enjoyed it as good ole southern food. She said her chicken was delicious and I know my kale salad with chicken was great! My only comment would be the music was rather loud. Also, pieces of the chicken on my salad tasted slightly burned. The other flavors of the salad including the delicious vinaigrette compensated for that though and overall we were very pleased with our meal.
Patrick was a very attentive server. Also, It was nice to meet Kellen. We’ll be back soon!
Thank you very much Cara, It was also very nice to meet you! See you soon! -Kellen, GM
First, our server was SUPER. He talked, cut up, and gave honest opinions. Second, food... they feature fried chicken & it is very juicy, however aside from that everything we tried fell in that good but not WOW category. The mixed drinks were alright, but their selling point is craft beer. I completely understand why it’s a nice hangout for the highlands area, and again, the chicken is very juicy, but there are places with a greater WOW factor for the value of you look.
Great local gem and the chicken is great
Awesome! We're glad you had a great experience. -Kellen, GM
Great chicken. Friendly service and delicious food
We're glad to hear it! -Kellen, GM
Thanks for the love! -Kellen, GM
We were disappointed that the spoonbread was not availabe because it didn't cook right, but we were given complementary biscuits. That's one way to have happy customers. The server was very familiar with all the menu options and helpful. I had had the chicken during another visit and happy with it. However this time our server said the chicken was a bit spicy so no one ordered it. I don't go for even a bit spicy so maybe they changed the recipe? My half salad was a good size and three of us shared 2 sides which was plenty for lunch. The succotash was different and excellent.
We ate here for the first time this week. What a treat! Lots of places SAY they're known for their fried chicken, but this was the best I've eaten in a looooong time! The waitress was as sweet as she could be, and our chat with the personable general manager was a delight as well. I'm still thinking about the side dishes, too! The collards, horseradish mashed potatoes, and spoon bread were all delicious - we WILL be back - SOON!
