Everything was lovely but I would recommend table cloths for dinner tables. The food was very good. The service was excellent.
Same tupe of MV overpriced, limited menu that exists at so many of the restaurants on island. It was also noisy with live musician.
Our first time at this Fantastic place. Beautiful view. Great food. Great service. So glad we tried it for our anniversary !
Very good food and great ambiance for our anniversary dinner. We marked it as anniversary on the OpenTable reservation and also when we checked in so figured someone might have said something nice but nothing at all.
Great birthday celebration with the family! Love the section for kids, too!
Great dinner and fun water taxi ride to the restaurant from Edgartown. Great kids play area to keep little ones entertained and let grown ups enjoy the views
Wonderful restaurant—family-friendly and elegant!
Understaffed. Food took over an hour to be served, waitress had a very hard time understanding the orders. (Language issues). Food was finally served cold. Double charged for drinks on the bill.
The views are great! Just remember, it’s a resort dining hall so it’s going to be loud and probably full of children.
Food quality and composition of the dishes was excellent- however, one person in our party bit a lobster shell in his lobster toast, the truffle fries were cold, and the mussels were cold.
Additionally, the bartender completely forgot our pre-dinner order that we made outside on the deck.
Not a great evening .
Much like the food, the quality of the staff was inconsistent. They seemed overwhelmed and undertrained. The lobster dish was excellent, but the pasta was mediocre and the swordfish dry and overcooked.
Swordfish and pasta dinner was disappointing, no flavor. Opera cake was also flavorless. The hangar steak was very good. S’mores dessert was excellent.
Frederico made the experience. Deserves a raise.
Only 1 of 8 of us liked their meals. The waitstaff was inexperienced, and for those prices, you just expect better food and service.
Great experience. We took the water taxi, which was fun. The restaurant picked us up at the dock in an old fire engine to bring us the rest of the way to the restaurant (we could've taken their 'normal' shuttle bus, too) and that was a blast. Service at the restaurant was great, food was excellent, and the view was beautiful. All of the staff were kind and professional. We would consider staying at the resort next time we visit the Vineyard.
Family friendly. Great service.
The menu is somewhat limited, but every taste can find something. The service is good and attentive. The food was tasty but not terribly creative. As would be expected for a hotel restaurant. But if you are a guest at the hotel, you cannot beat the convenience!
Just great. Service was superb. They have a full kid section with movies and supervision so my wife and I had adult time even though we had our three kids with us.
We booked a reservation for brunch at 10 am. To book a reservation also requires a credit card. After arriving, we were told they don’t offer brunch- breakfast ended at 10 am yet they still took out credit card and confirmed our online booking. Very careless. Before leaving we asked if we would be charged as a no show and the hostess assured us that we would receive a call from the manager and should not be charged. 7 days later and no call or apology. Don’t recommend this place so. Very they can’t get their hours and reservations accurate.
Excellent evening enhanced by visit to our table by the resort manager, Matt Moore, who expressed genuine interest in our experience. Most welcoming.
We’ll be back regularly.
The decor is very pretty. We ordered a few items to begin just to find out after waiting that they didn’t have. We had some people in our party with allergies and told multiple people (servers, managers and chief) several times what they were and waited over 2 hours for our entrees and my husband meal still came out wrong and last. Maybe they need to work out some kinks since it’s beginning of season but was disappointed.
Menu needs a revamp. Food choices weird and limited. We had a party of 7. We know all the retaurants on the island. Sat for 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Had to request bread and drink refills. Servers polite despite being inattentive. Go elsewhere for better food and service.
Excellent dinner and service! The fish is especially delicious.
I brought my adult daughter here for her birthday, thinking it was fine dining, but quickly learning that it was more of a family restaurant. The noise level was loud, and there were children running around, some in their pajamas, and some laying on the floor. After dinner, I asked that the waiter put a candle on my daughter’s dessert, but after a short time, he came back and told me they didn’t have any candles. Really? The best part of the night was when we had drinks outside on the deck, and the bartender introduced us to his Cuban mojitos. Overall, it was a disappointing and overpriced experience, and I will not go back or recommend it to any adults looking for fine dining in Martha’s Vineyard.
Great location, wonderful service, excellent meal, had the swordfish which was prepared perfectly. Would go back.
We were able to make arrangements for an impromptu visit to Martha's Vineyard over the Memorial Day Weekend and we figured that restaurant reservations would be hard to come by. The Dunes was able to take us at 6pm on Saturday night. The place is beautiful and the food was outstanding. Wife had Mushroom Struedel, I had Roasted Cod, and the kids had burgers. Appys were Mussels, Caesar Salad, and Clam Chowder. All great dishes. The chowder appeared to have a small drizzle of a citrus-based (lime maybe?) olive oil which added a nice touch. As it is the beginning of the season, there was a small hiccup in one of the sides that we ordered so a little bit more coordination between the front and back of house should come as the summer rolls on. The food and atmosphere was so good that in no way did this diminish our experience and the service (Sean was our waiter) in every other way was great. This is clearly on par with other great restaurants on the Island such as State Road, Atria, and Outermost Inn. Highly recommend and we plan to return.
Moms day brunch was outstanding!!
Plethora of cuisine options!!
Love the peel & eat shrimp and chilled mussels raw bar..great addition!! Our 5 year old loved the kids buffet too!! Our server Pedro was wonderful!!
We’ve been going there for 4 years & it keeps getting better!!
First time for our family and it was even better than I thought! From the food to the service was just the best!
Beautiful Easter Buffet complete with the Easter Bunny Photo Bus! The staff was all smiles & couldn’t be more accommodating. A perfect family celebration!
Outstanding food and service! A rare find so don’t miss it!
A good time was had by all - great food & drink. Relaxing atmosphere with impeccable service. Especially outstanding was the apple crisp with Carmel ice cream!
There are only two redeeming features to this restaurant. The child care which is really excellent. A dedicated babysitter who is the most competent staff member there. And a lovely view. But at this price point I would expect decent to good food and quality service. Received neither.
We liked the decor of the restaurant but the food too salty and the waitress mess up everyone ‘s order and forgot put my daughter ‘s entree in so we have to wait for her dish come out 10 more minuets!
Great views and a relaxing atmosphere. We always enjoy our meals there.
Food was exceptional, service very attentive.
Server was rude.
Always a pleasant surprise. The waiter was excellent and although a simple menu beautifully executed. The Thai beef salad was excellent and the sword with risotto was also excellent. The chicken was juicy. We go because the food is great and the parking is easy. There are families and some are well behaved others are not so you need patience. It’s always on our list and did not disappoint.
Our family was celebrating 2 birthdays, father & son, and both were treated to an amazing evening. A beautiful and elegant, yet casual ambience. The food was OUTSTANDING. A foodies delight. The wine pairing was on the mark, too.
The staff was very attentive.
To our surprise, there was a supervised kids play area, perfect for kids (really for 8 and under) to stay entertained while the food is being prepared.
The Water Taxi and ride over on the 1932 shuttle bus was wonderful and highly recommended. The service was GREAT! Enjoyed an app and a great dinner with the lady. She loved it, I loved it and had a great time.
