Great dining experience. The service was great, the cocktails were amazing, and the food was absolutely sensational. Unfortunate that they are closing, glad I was able to experience The Dunavant before the doors close for good.

Everything about the restaurant was great but they need to get some friendly hostess. These are the first people we see when visiting a restaurant and being met with disgruntled, annoyed faces and energy almost made us turn around. Im sure they were overwhelmed but whatever the case, hostess just wouldn’t be an appropriate job title for you!

Arrived at the restaurant and went to check in. Had to wait a few minutes because the hostess was having some issues with the party in front of us and getting them seated. When it was our turn, we were sat promptly (had a reservation). Water was immediately brought to the table which was nice. Waitress took a little bit to get to our table but the place was pretty busy. We got the mimosa flight, chicken and funnel cake waffle and steak and eggs. Waitress came back about 10 mins after taking our order and said the computer systems were acting up and she retook our food order. Due to the issue, she did give us 2 additional flavors for mimosas for free which was nice. When the food came, mine was correct but she tried giving my wife the shrimp and grits. Once she realized it was wrong, my wife’s correct order was brought immediately. Probably just grabbed the wrong entree. The food tasted great. Steak was cooked right and seasoned perfectly. Even tried some of my wife’s food and it was amazing. All in all, I’d say 4 out of 5. Stinks that the place is closing at the end of August cause we’d really like to try it for dinner.

Went for my birthday brunch. Although we waited forever to get a simple shrimp and grits meal. This meal ended up being returned as it wasn’t fully cooked. The drinks were good, loved the mimosa flight. The steak and eggs with hash was also good and the French toast is a great addition. I will be a returning customer.

First time at the Dunavant. We had a reservation, so there wasn't a wait. The atmosphere is really nice. However, the hostesses were not pleasant and rude, never a good thing. The experience was saved because the bartender and our server were awesome. The food was delicious as well.

LOVE The Dunavant! So sad to see it’s closing. Food was bomb as always. We started with the mimosa flight; they aren’t stingy with the champagne. Next were our entrees — I got the chicken and funnel cake with strawberry topping and a side of the potato hash. Husband also had the chicken and funnel cake, but with the Carmel apple topping. He always gets an extra chicken thigh because the seasoning is top notch. It’s a little pricey when it’s all said and done, but totally worth it for the unique menu, popping flavors, and dope atmosphere. Go before it’s too late!

We came here for a birthday celebration and left a note in our reservation regarding this, but this was completely ignored. The staff was exceptionally rude and our server gave us the worst service i’ve had at a restaurant in charlotte. The food was way overpriced for the quality and this was truly just a very negative experience overall. I feel like we just wasted our money.

Kitchen was backed up and the wait time was ridiculous. Our waiter was apologetic which was appreciated, I just wish they could fix the back of the house. Waited like an hour for food. Was an inexpensive place and the service didn’t or match the price

This place was absolutely horrible! It took over an hour to get our food which was cold and horrible. The chef came out of the kitchen he was so dirty his pants had not been washed in days!!! Very disappointed the entire team could not keep up with the volume!!!!!

I came to this restaurant on my anniversary because it was recommended by a post on IG. I really wanted to like however due to food delayed 45 mins I’m on the fence. I must say the egg rolls were really good though. I’m not sure if I would recommend or return

Great atmosphere. Wonderful crowd. Food was good, but our food did not arrive to our table until 1 pm...we sat at our table at approximately 11:35 am. The wait for our meal was too long & our waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed. I wouldn't definitely go back, but I'm skeptical about waiting another hour & a half for food to come out.

We didn’t have a good experience, our reservation was at 1:15pm and by 2:30pm we never received our food and no one gave us an update on what was going on. So we ended up leaving abruptly and paid for our drinks ..

We had a reservation and our seat was not ready when we first got there. We had to wait then we waited 40 minutes for our egg rolls to come out as an appetizer. Egg rolls were amazing but not worth the wait and bad service. An hour and twenty minutes into our dining experience we got served our entrees. I got the french toast with raspberry's and my boyfriend got the lobster mac. I didn't receive syrup and it was okay, both entrees were good but not great. Our sodas came out extremely watered down as well. The place was very aesthetic and lively.

Food is a little overpriced. Breakfast egg rolls had ZERO flavor. Mimosa sampler was ok at best. Grits were gritty but the flavor was good. The eggs aren’t freshly cracked but instead a liquid or powdered egg

The food was really good but they need to work on their servers, our server could not handle her section and everyone waited over 45 min to even get an order placed. Never checked back in and forgot part of the order. An entire hot mess, only good thing was the food, so shout out to the chef!

I’ll lead with the pros - The food taste great! My date had the lobster Mac and I had the chicken funnel cake. My date also enjoyed the espresso martini. I thought the chicken was seasoned well, the crust was nice and crunchy. The lobster Mac had so much flavor! The staff was polite! The meh - the chicken size was quite small, I wish there was a honey or syrup option to add with the fruit topping (Chicken funnel cake). The lobster Mac is a bowl of pasta with lobster pieces. Neither dish is worth the price but they do taste good. The cons - ridiculously long wait time, server took way to long to check on our table, nearly 45 minutes went by without an update on our food. Initially told the breakfast egg rolls were not available, only to be offered a complimentary dish… then was charged for it. The explanation was poor. Cool spot, good food, overpriced, recommend going for drinks and maybe a small plate.

Would never go back. This place seems more like an Instagram spot catering to a certain crowd for brunch. Those that are used to normal upscale brunches need not to visit. Complaints: 1. Charged automatic 22% charge for every check. - I can understand charging an automatic gratuity for large parties, but a service fee for 2 people?Unacceptable 2. Over charged for bottle of sparkling wine for mimosas. - Menu said 35.00 and I was charged 40.00. I was told I didn’t specify what type of sparkling wine, so I was given the 40.00 bottle…unacceptable. Establishment determines what you will be served and charged regardless of what was ordered. 3. Limited menu

I so wanted to like this place. I came here because of TikTok and I was extremely disappointed. The steak and scramble was literally four slices of steak, unseasoned eggs, and potatoes. The potatoes was the best part. We waited over an hour from the point of placing our order to receiving the food, however this came out like 20/30 mins after the steak and scramble. The waitress was great she did the best she could with all of the tables she had to service.

Once we were sat, we waited close to 20 minutes to be greeted. There were at least 3 servers plus a bartender plus SA’s at the time, and they weren’t busy yet. There were tables that got seated after us that were greeted and given drinks before us. Nonetheless, once our server did come over, she was somewhat apologetic, and she was very attentive. She was very sweet all in all, and mistakes happen. I appreciated her taking responsibility instead of pretending as though we belonged to a different server. I highly recommend the mimosa flight. It’s cute, and the watermelon juice one is different but delicious. My friend got the espresso martini, and it looked like they had just poured Baileys into a glass and topped it with ground espresso beans. It was as if he had only gotten the foam from the shaker. The French toast is flavorful and it met my expectations. I appreciated the variety of sauce choices. The sausage gravy had an overpowering flavor…not 100% sure of what it was, but my mind goes to some type of baking spice. The ambiance was great. I loved that the garage doors were open, but there was still a screen.

We made reservations for 2pm, didn’t get seated until 2:30 and a waiter didn’t tend to us until about 2:45. Mins you brunch is over at 3pm…we ended up leaving. 0/10 service, wouldn’t recommend

The hosts were very polite and courteous. The food was good. I feel that they need more training for the staff waitress and waiters. When it was time for our food to be brought to the table they did just that. Placed the food on table and walked away. No one received what they actually ordered to them personally nor were they asked if they ordered xyz. We shifted the plates to whom they belonged too ourselves. The waitress never walked around to the other side of the table to delivery any requested items.. it was a reach over on top of our food type of deal. We never got refills or asked if we wanted refills. Just need more etiquette on serving the customers. It didn’t take a long time to get the food so that is a plus. Overall this place can a good spot to attend.

Great food, attentive staff. Greeted with waters straight away and continuous refills throughout. Food was great!! Mimosa flight was great as well. Recommend the banana fosters French toast. And they don’t rush you at all after you’re finished, was avale to have a great conversation while being checked on here and there if we needed anything additional. Only con: wish the French toast came with eggs and a meat (ans a full meal) instead of alone, but other than that, highly recommended. We were very pleased.

Terrible service. Don’t think the guy was trained at all but he was nice. The bartender poured really weak drinks, like maybe an ounce. Service was sooo slow and there were only 3 tables in there.
