Richard, Beth and Team are delighted to welcome you their charming, 18th Century Pub, The Dumb Post Inn, a picturesque village pub situated in the village of Bremhill, with good links to the stunning City of Bath.

Conveniently situated between Calne and Chippenham, with beautiful views over the nearby Bowood estate, The Dumb Post is an award winning, traditional country gastropub, offering quality cask ales and exceptional home cooked food using locally sourced ingredients.

Family owned since 2009, but only managed by the family since 2019, Richard stepped away from his career as an aircraft engineer, to protect this much loved pub and to ensure that The Dumb Post could run to its potential.

Richard and Beth both grew up in Bremhill and are driven by a passion for the area as well as this historic, family owned pub. They take enormous pride in offering the best local produce available, including the family farm for their supply of lamb and beef.

We went for Sunday lunch. Lunch was good but veg selection was poor, 3 long carrots and a small amount of broccoli , if we hadn’t ordered cauliflower cheese and stuffing at extra cost it wouldn’t have been enough. For dessert I ordered sticky toffee pudding which was absolutely delicious 😋 hubby ordered panna cotta Which should be very creamy and decadent was watery and lacked flavour. Staff were amazing

Perfect all round. Food is no more expensive than most good pubs but it’s without a doubt worth it because it was just unreal. Staff were so lovely and really made it an enjoyable experience. Have been before and will certainly be going again.

Lovely location and friendly welcoming staff who helped us over the telephone when we couldn't make an online alteration to the booking. Food service was a little slow, but I assume that was due to the popularity of the place...it was a lovely day & the pleasant beer garden was very full. And we were inno real rush The food was good...there was a small hiccough with one item which I mentioned to the server but it certainly would not prevent me from returning . A spilled drink ( our fault!) was dealt with swiftly and with grace & the soft drink was replaced free of charge And an added bonus...the child ate free as it was Half Term ! Very good all round.

We had a lovely meal and evening at the Dumb Post on Saturday with our friends who were visiting for the weekend. Fabulous food, surroundings and service by Katie. Thank you!

Very disappointed after hearing from family that it was very good for a Sunday lunch! The meat was very good we had the roast beef. Service poor had to ask for our vegetables and not looking very appealing when they arrived, had to ask for condiments only salt and pepper on table. Drinks were slow to arrive as well. View from garden was lovely but, overall disappointed.

We went for my wife’s birthday meal and it was incredible! We all had the roast and the meat was so tender and delicious! All the food is locally sourced as well, and you could tell it was all fresh. The staff were all incredibly polite and helpful. Would highly recommend the dumb post!

Booked the Dumb Post for a family birthday lunch. The food was outstanding and combined with a vibrant atmosphere the family thoroughly enjoyed the birthday celebration
