   I find the Dukes Head a good venue for lunch time business meetings. The food and atmosphere along with the staff and service has always been good

   Great atmosphere, even sitting outside. We were served by a friendly funny and polite waiter. Food was average, and the service was extremely slow. We waited nearly 1 hour for two salads. Staff need to clean the tables a lot quicker and maybe some table service outside would be good. Tables were filling up with dirty plates and glasses around us, and no one was clearing them, customers had to move plates onto empty tables to sit down. Bit of a mess and I overheard lots of complaints from others. This place could be really nice.

   2nd visit food was good with exception of the so called beef salad large which was not so large other than that good

   A lovely, friendly pub. Staff are all fab. Food is great. We love it here because our well behaved dog is welcomed too. Highly recommend.

   I have visited the Dukes Head several times over the years and I have to say that it can vary from one occasion to another. I have found that lunchtime during the week is usually a good time to visit which suits my girlfriends and I very well. The staff on this occasion were very personable and efficient and my friends and I were very pleased with our food choices. I do feel that the prices are a little on the high side but that is true to say of many establishments these days.

   We have been to The Dukes Head several times over the years. The refurbishment has much improved the dining room and the overall ambience is good. Food was very tasty (would recommend the fishcakes) and nicely presented. My only issue was with regards to the servers. The gentleman waiting on our table was not very cheerful and seemed impatient for us to make our drink/food selection. However what was more concerning was how untidy he looked, almost as if he had just got out of bed. Unshaven and extremely scruffy. Not what I would normally expect in a decent class of restaurant.

   Had a lovely meal, scallops, steak and Creme brûlée from the mid week set menu which included drinks Very attentive staff, will be happy to return.

   Was our first time and will now be our regular. Outstanding food, great service and nice outdoor dining on the full menu.

    Lovely place to go, although couldn’t find my name for my table booking and looked embarrassing for me and them with the friends I had organised an evening out with.
