Great food, fine ales, plenty of gin and a friendly atmosphere – what more could you want from a restaurant and country pub! 2024 has seen an extensive £150,000 refurbishment creating a stylish and contemporary restaurant & country pub..

Set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York, it is the main destination inn in the area. The delicious created dishes on our menu are locally sourced and reflect the changing seasons, mirroring the wonderful walks to be found through Skipwith Common, right on its doorstep.

Staff very friendly & helpful & attentive. good excellent one member had garlic allergy & chef cleared request for dietary requirements. All in all a great experience very impressed

Excellent food, service and special treatment for birthday celebrations. Couldn't have asked for more. Made a good day extra special. Definitely worth a visit, will be back

We had a really lovely lunchtime meal. Service was very good and the food was exceptional. It is quite expensive but I have no problem paying for quality so the 3 of us were happy. Will definitely visit again

This was our second visit to the Drovers, which is actually an hours drive from where we live,but the drive is seriously worth it. The restaurant has clearly been refurbished, very tastefully done and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is exceptionally good, with a superb choice, in particular fish etc, which my wife tends to prefer to meat these days. This time we tried the sharing board seafood platter, which was one of the best we have tasted for a long time. The seafood platter is normally our marker standard for menus and this one was one of the best around!!!

When visiting drovers, we were welcomed by Jake who is nothing short of an asset to the company . He is always well polite and attentive as he is with all customers . Our server looked after us and double checked on food allergies ( I am celiac ), as soon as drinks were emptied we were asked if we wanted more . The food was exceptional , I requested no fat on the Sunday dinner beef and they adhered to this with no issues . Staff were polite and friendly . Dani is always polite and engaged in conversation and showed a general interest in the customers , exceptional customer service from her and all other serving staff who looked after us . I would rate this a 10/10 on food alone but with the added fantastic customer service just made the experience even better and exceeded all expectations . Thanks again
