It was my husband's birthday which I noted in our reservation, mentioned when I confirmed our reservation and again said something to our server. Not a single Happy Birthday from anyone at the Drake. I will not celebrate a special occasion again at the Drake.

Such a beautiful Sunday night. Had the tuna tartare and duck as appetizers and it was so mouth watering. The ribeye was perfect at medium rare, could cut it with the fork it was so tender! Also had the venison and that was so flavorful. Live music was fantastic! Our server Nick was just on top of everything from recommendations to making us feel special as we had just gotten married the day before. Definitely coming back!

Outstanding dinner...the ambiance was perfect but the best part of the evening was our server, Nick. Just WOW! His knowledge of the menu, his description and recommendations were spot on. Super attentive and just overall made the experience a 15 out of 10! Thank you Nick, we will be back!!!

Robert, our waiter, was incredibly kind and well informed of the restaurant and its history. The live musician was kind, engaging and incredible talent. The food, fantastic and well priced. We will return and likely request Robert again, as we work through the entire menu!

If you’ve frequented this location over the years, it’s the spot of the former Tabu Grill. The food is on point and quite delicious. The drinks are well crafted. There is live entertainment. The bar can get very crowded with tables occupied and no real estate for those waiting to be sat without being in the way. Such is life in Laguna Beach. The main dining room is quite loud. Outside seating is an option with a little noise from the PCH. Put The Drake into your rotation of fine eateries when in Laguna.

We sat in the bar area and it was louder than we expected. We could barely hear the band. But the food, service, and ambiance was amazing. Definitely coming back and sitting in the main dining room to hear and see the band.

We have dined at The Drake many times and had a fabulous experience. This time the service was noticeably worse than our prior visits. It took a long time for a waiter to even come to our table to ask about a water choice. Taylor was slow to return for drink orders and then slow to come back for food orders. Water was not refilled even though we asked and glasses were obviously empty. He seldom checked on us throughout the night. When we were finished, we waited 15 minutes for him to bring the check. He never appeared again and instead we had to get up and go find someone to ask about the check. On previous visits, wait staff has been enthusiastic and attentive. Not the case last night and it will definitely influence our interest in returning.

Been there a few time. Food and Service are spot on. This visit we were seated in the bar and could not see or hear the music, asked multiple times to turn it up, but others in the bar area were there for other reasons and wanted it turned down. Reserve accordingly. Great place to have dinner.
