We had a reservation, and they closed their doors for business and did not even let people know how had reservations! Pretty poor, I would say!
They called to say the ovens weren’t working-
Love the atmosphere and the service. The food I got was all pretty tasty (scallops, tiramisu, and a caprese), but the mushroom raviolo was pretty bad. The pasta was cooked great, but the overwhelming tastes of lemon and rosemary ruined it. Cocktails are also stellar!
My ciopino had no halibut. I should have complained but didn’t want to in front of my guests. Pizza was fabulous! Pastas were ok but not as good as Guilia.
Our server was fantastic and so knowledgeable on the menu, all of his recommendations were delicious! The rigatoni with corn was absolutely incredible and so fresh! We will definitely be visiting again!
My wife and I went for a date night and we were impressed with the homemade pasta and cheese! The pea tortellini and agnolotti were awesome and the hanger steak was good as well. Andy was our server and he was great! Would definitely go back and recommend to others!
Outdoor dining quiet and delightful, compared to higher indoor noise level. Delicious food and attentive service!
We love this place.
The place was almost empty when we arrived. However the service was horrible. We didn’t get bread til our food came took 10-15 min for anyone even to come to our table. The food was not great and they offered nothing for kids. Would not recommend!
My wife and I went here for our anniversary! Joanne was our server, she was awesome! Friendly, attentive and helpful! This was our first time at the restaurant and we asked for her recommendations and she was very detailed and honest about the menu choices. We started with two drinks off the menu, I had the Old Fashion and my wife had the Day Spa. Both were excellent and refreshing!
We ended up getting three items for dinner to share, a pizza, a pasta and entree.
We picked the Prosciutto pizza and it did not disappoint! Very flavorful and tasty!
For the pasta we got the Pea Tortellini! It was fresh and the cheeses inside made each bite amazing!
Finally we got the Shortrib entree! Tender and awesome flavor!
Dessert we got the huckleberry sorbet and panna cotta! Like everything else these were delicious!
I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone who’s thinking about going to The Dough Room!
We were celebrating an engagement.
Disappointed with the service and it was the second time. Menu items were not as described as the “chef has been changing things”. Lasagna was described as vegetarian in the menu. After waiting a long time for our food we were told it had meat. Had to change to something else when other guests meals were finally ready. Bill came and we were charged for both dishes! Also charged for changing meatballs to chicken in another dish. Overall slow service, poor communication and overcharged when should have been taken off the bill for poor service.
Good, not great. Will go back but it’s just not that “must have” overall experience.
Waiter was a big hit. Ability to get half orders was a great optuon
So tasty!! We’ll be back for sure. The beef carpaccio was stellar, as much the mushroom ravioli. Get the small plates to try more!
Great food and wonderful staff!
Fresh and innovative food, delicious. Service was spot-on and friendly. The only negative was small potion size for the price.
Decent food - small wine pour & fruit flies were distracting
Sarah was our server and we were greeted with a warm smile. The spaghetti and pizza was delicious. Unfortunately the Tiramisu fell flat because it was salty. We were very disappointed and I couldn't finish it. Especially when we just returned from out trip to Milan in Italy, so we were quite familiar with the taste of Tiramisu. Fortunately, Sarah credited the price of the Tiramisu from our bill when I told her about the salty taste.
In our several visits the food has been consistently good. Highly recommend.
We have been several times and the food is fresh and very good. If you enjoy a strong drink, they will not disappoint!
Nice spot for a casual dinner in Wayzata with friends! Only our second time there since opening, and The Dough Room has made improvements in both service and portion sizes since our last visit. Will have to try the new Sunday night $25 Salad/Pasta/Dessert option next!
Second time there. Food is excellent. Server very nice. Only complaint was the wine pour. Significantly less than prior visit.
Food was very good but not worth the price. The asparagus appetizer was good but was only 2-3 stalks of asparagus so not worth $9.
AMAZING food! Great service! We will be back!
Great food. As every review says....very small portions for high $.
The food was excellent. While the portions were very small, my husband and I do not eat large amounts. When the bill arrived, the shocker was a $16 charge for a small mound of sliced garlic butter bread that was tasty but nothing exceptional. The waitress said she would bring the bread but did not indicate there would be such a huge if any charge for it. Even in the best of restaurants, the wait person would advise the customer about this -- but, in the first place, would likely not have an associated charge for bread.
Great food but err on the side of getting full portions since even that size is tiny. Worth it, though, for a special evening.
This was my 3rd visit and it has always been a pleasure. The Pasta and pizza’s are extraordinary! Everything I (and others with me) have eaten there has exceeded my/our expectations. I look forward to my next visit.
Limited menu but food was excellent and we'll certainly go back. On Tuesday it was quiet and comfortable. The service was excellent too. Highly recommend. Pasta was awesome.
We loved the Sunday 3 course dinner. The Caesar salad was way beyond your usual fare with some pickled onions and then toasted bread crumbs instead of croutons. We had the radish starter with white bean purée and shaved asparagus- so good. Cacio e pepe is a very simple dish and the quality of the pasta and cheese really counts This did not disappoint.
We will be back soon. Great value for a comforting meal
Our first visit to The Dough Room was a pleasant surprise. While the plates were on the small side, they were more than adequate and full of flavor. We've already made another reservation and look forward to sampling other items on the menu.
We’ve been to this place 3 times, and will return. Every item we’ve had was delicious, beautiful, and well-portioned. The pasta is among the best we’ve ever experienced, including in Italy. The meats program is also very impressive. On this most recent visit we realized several sips after the tasting that none of us liked the wine we had selected; after mentioning it to the served it was taken away and replaced with a different selection, no problem. I have the Ambiance category 4 of 5 stars just because on this visit for some reason there were a half dozen persistent fruit flies circling our table. No biggie, love The Dough Room.
This restaurant is wonderful. I had pizza my first 2 visits, and it was awesome, but last weekend I tried the pasta. It was amazing, too. Of course, the bread is great, too. The wine list is quite good. This is a little gem of a restaurant in Wayzata. Go there to eat, then stroll beautiful Lake Street.
We got to sit outside on a perfect night and have a wonderful meal together. Loved it!
Two couples dined on a Saturday night during Restaurant week. The Dough Room offered A Bolognese dish not original to their menu. Seemed like a bait and switch.
We had an excellent dinner of antipasti, a special chef-created pasta and entrees. Interesting & unexpected twists on old favorites (don't miss the mushroom pizza!). Wine choices were impressive and servers very knowledgeable. Service is friendly, efficient, professional. This restaurant is evolving--house made pasta and pizza dough are delicious and a mainstay, new dishes use seasonal & local flavors adding a sophisticated flair. Highly recommend.
Creative menu. Will come back to try other menu options.
The food as average and small portion sizes. Way way overpriced.
