The Dorian is an ode to a bygone era, a modern day parlor for the bohemians, libertines and free thinkers among us. A place where Oscar Wilde might have dropped in for a drink or Jerry Thomas would have tended bar. Offering fresh provisions and fine whiskey, The Dorian is the quintessential destination to enjoy good times for good times sake.
Our menu draws from San Francisco’s rich culinary history, taking the liberty to explore and re-invent nostalgic favorites and concoct new dishes alike. Our beverage program treads a bohemian path, borrowing from the past and dreaming up new ways to have fun through libations. We couple this with an extensive list of over 120 whiskeys.
We will be open for indoor dining with limited capacity starting 10/08/20. We reserve 50% of our tables outdoors for reservations; indoor dining is by request only. All parties of 8 or more require a minimum spend.

The Dorian has a great setup outside - folks were pretty respectable, food was good as always. I would not eat inside if I were you.
Excellent birthday brunch
Great place to dine, especially during covid. The staff was very attentive, accommodating, and got us seated right away. They have a lot of outdoor dining space for a restaurant in the city. The food was delicious and the ambience was even better. I can’t wait to come back when indoor dining is safe again!
Food was really good but portions were very small for how expensive it was. Drinks were great and service was great as well.
Outside tables on Fillmore Street were closed so we were sat at a rickety round metal table on curb. Server was nice and food was good but fish and chips portion was rather small, just three pieces of fish and an abundance of fries which were only half consumed.
Great outdoor space. Good food! Fun times.
Great food. Desert menu was limited and prices of wine were high when compared to specialty cocktails. Overall a decent place.
Great truffle fries and amazing bourbon drink. Service was amazing too. Will visit again.
Great place. Had great customer service, they practiced COVID rules, food was awesome. Had a decent beer recommendation since my personal choices weren’t available.
I will come back in the future.
A little expensive, but other than that, everything was fantastic. We sat outside under heat lamps and avoided the wind because of partitions. The atmosphere on the sidewalk in the marina was lovely. The food and cocktails were just phenomenal. Service was friendly and attentive.
The host had a little issue with setting us down at the available table. She first stated that there was a reservation for that table with the heater that we wanted to sit and she then set us down there regardless of what she said 2min ago. It made us a little uncomfortable.
Our server Chris was fantastic — he managed the covid experience very well — was attentive & super personable, made us feel very welcome & we would recommend to others wanting a nice brunch with appropriate spacing & covid compliance.
The outdoor area we were seated at had not been cleaned and had some trash and used on masks on the floor.
Classic Chestnut St. scene......great food, service, and atmosphere.
It was a lovely dinner for a friends birthday. Our server was great and gave us some complimentary shots at the end which was so fun!
Food, drinks and service were good! We were seated outdoors under a music speaker so it was a little loud for conversation and everyone was super compliant about masks.
Great Service! We were celebrating my son’s birthday and we ordered mimosas, loved the variety of juices offered. I loved the guava juice and champagne mix. The tri-tip hash was delicious!
Loved the lively environment. Great food and service! We'll definitely come again.
Excellent food and service as always.
Our waiter and service was amazing. The drinks here are amazing and I can’t wait to come back
Fantastic food and great service!!
Service was great. However, wait list experience was awful. Very poor communication by staff to patrons. Will only return for frozé to go.
Excellent service, great food, imaginative and very tasty cocktails.
Great food. Served outside. Perfect for today’s weird world situation!!!
Great food and service! Very pandemic compliant with tables spaced out and plastic barriers between tables. They clean the seats and tables before seating a new party.
The cocktails are also excellent. Highly recommend the whiskey sour - one of the best in the city! On the weekends, definitely make a reservation as it gets busy.
We love this place. We always go when we’re in S.F. Great food & great service! Great drinks, brunch is the best. Million dollar Bacon is the best bacon I’ve ever had. We had a bottle of wine and poke tacos for a snack and , the we had brunch on Sunday. Awesome place!
I felt like we had to ask for everything from various people- not our server- felt like she abandoned us and never asked how the food was or what we needed or do you want another drink. When I was looking for the check- apparently she was off and sitting in the table behind us talking with customers. She never said-hi i'm off but this server will take over etc. NOT cool!
Our reservation was on Sunday at 7p after what the staff said was a very busy Saturday. More than 50% of the menu items were not available. That left very little variety.
The food we did order was fine but always hard to be overly excited when your first/second options were not available.
I made a reservation for 8.15 and we were seated past 8.30 because they were waiting for a specific table to finish eating, while all this time there was an empty table ready for us.
I had to speak with 3 different people to get the table.
It’s funny that if as a customer we do not show up in 5 min we get a fee, but if restaurant messes up, customer don’t even gent an apology.
They’re clearly understaffed for the outdoor seating set up they designed.
Also, they charged us for the bread!!!
I want to support local restaurants but please get your act together.
Had a reservation for outside table at 7 pm. They didn’t seat us until 7:30. No reason other than “we don’t have tables available right now”
Enjoyed the mimosa experience, food was good but portions were quite small and refill of juice/water was forgotten. Overall would go again tho
Service was good, food was mediocre, tiny portions. Atmosphere gritty at outside tables.
Food was great and a service too). We had a great time!
They've done a wonderful job with their outdoor ambiance. The tables in front of the restaurant are mostly in the sun, so if you catch it on a sunny day it's the perfect place to enjoy a drink and some food.
Of course difficult to rise to the occasion in times of COVID. Great service considering being seated around the corner from the front of the restaurant. Drinks were standard. Poke tacos subpar for the price. Fries much better at Souvla down the street.
Bar drinks were great; food was ok - not really special but acceptable. However dining outside was cold! It was a foggy SF day - but there were no outside heaters and with the wind blowing it was quite chilly. I’m so happy they are making such great efforts provide a restaurant dining experience - but clearly SF weather is a challenge!
Great good and service. They need heat lamps though as it’s too cold for outdoor dining.
Been to the Dorian countless of times. Went there today with a reservation and experience was very subpar. After we ordered, we were asked if we can move to another table to accommodate another party which we didn’t object. The waiter, Chris, said he’ll bring over something as a nice gesture and then asked if my dog wanted some water, which I agreed and thanked him. Unfortunately, he didn’t follow through with either of those things which i thought “then just don’t mention anything in the first place.” Last dish of grilled artichoke came out late after we finished all our food and had a weird consistency so we barely touched it.
Didn’t bother mentioning anything (until now) as a courtesy given covid, paid the full bill and tip, and moved on. Wife says she won’t be returning here again.
Shocked they didn’t have heat lamps for outdoor seating in San Francisco
great for outdoor dining during the pandemic. get the truffle fries!
