The Dorian is an ode to a bygone era, a modern day parlor for the bohemians, libertines and free thinkers among us. A place where Oscar Wilde might have dropped in for a drink or Jerry Thomas would have tended bar. Offering fresh provisions and fine whiskey, The Dorian is the quintessential destination to enjoy good times for good times sake.
Our menu draws from San Francisco’s rich culinary history, taking the liberty to explore and re-invent nostalgic favorites and concoct new dishes alike. Our beverage program treads a bohemian path, borrowing from the past and dreaming up new ways to have fun through libations. We couple this with an extensive list of over 120 whiskeys.

Fantastic service - they seated us twice! We had a reservation for 4, ended up with 6, and then had more people come and they moved us to a bigger table. Really wonderful waitresses, really good burger. The rum punch big batch cocktail was just okay, but the Libertine, the Fable of Bees and the Alibi are all great drinks.
Seating was fast and table was lovely with views of restaurant and outside. Service was excellent - no issues. The food was delicious and had flavors that were unique and unexpected. What we really enjoyed was also the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, and we felt welcomed.
We loved it. Our waitress Kat was amazing. Def will be back
Fun place to dine in the Marina with gluten-free options!
I didn’t expect the menu to change to limited as soon as we got there.
Menu was not up to date, took over 10 minutes for a server, food wasn’t that tasty for the price
Cute spot for food and cocktails!
It was our first time eating here and the food was absolutely delicious and our waitress was very informative of the menu and drink menu! They were very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be going back.
So awesome! Perfect Sunday brunch. Food and music 👌🏾
Our new favorite spot !
Also rose shots! AHH- MAzzzing
Birthday brunch. First time here for all of us and everything was great.
Incredible food, excellent service and beautiful ambiance!
Our first visit here and it's a definite improvement over prior restaurants in this particular location. The menu is limited but the 3 of us were able to find something appealing. We started with the turmeric hummus with flatbread as an appetizer; the hummus itself was tasty and the flatbread was good but there wasn't nearly enough to use all the hummus, so almost half of it was wasted. We also tried the deviled egg, which was delicious, but consisted of only 1 egg - really half an egg with a mound of whipped yolk topped with a slice of mild chili pepper. The price was appropriate for the serving size, so no objection to this, but it's not easily sharable, so be sure to order 1 per person. For main courses, I shared the NY Steak frites with our daughter - the meat was well prepared and lightly seasoned with a chimichurri sauce, and the fries were skinny and crisp. My husband had the caesar salad with roasted chicken which he thought was very good. While the food was good, service was spotty and slow; we had several different servers over the hour and had to chase down such basics as our utensils and condiments. I've noticed this a lot since returning to restaurants post-SIP, so I'm hoping that this erratic service is the result of new staff or reduced staff not yet at the correct ratio for the numbers of returning diners which is still an unreliable figure. This restaurant shows promise if the service can improve.
Frankie our server was outstanding offering suggestions and very friendly adding to our wonderful experience. The way the trout was served was breath taking and the best we ever have eaten.
Their menu is limited, not sure if it’s because of covid or not. My friend got the poki tacos and she said there was no flavor. They have no desserts. The highlight is most of the drinks.
I loved everything about this place. The food, the ambiance, the aesthetic. The staff was amazing and so kind and catering. I would 10/10 recommend to anyone. I can’t wait to go back.
This place is cute, but not worth the hype. The food took FOREVER to arrive, including every other step in the dining process...drink refills, getting the check/picking up cards, etc. was PAINFULLY SLOW. Our waitress was nice, but not proactive nor attentive (for example, we ordered the deviled eggs as a starter - but they sat at the kitchen counter for 20 minutes before she brought them over and only after we prompted her). The restaurant wasn't busy enough to receive such a low level of service. Inside ambiance was good, with cute decor, but not nearly enough to make up for the lack of service, average food and time spent.
Asked for inside table and was placed outside even after we pointed it out. They said they weren’t seating people inside and there were people inside ... Also, our main waitress was not very friendly. I did enjoy the food .. but there are lots of places to eat in the area may not return.
Heaters were very ideal outside!
DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A DOG.
Worst experience I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Honestly left borderline traumatized.
We were seated at one of their outdoor tables when another customer's dog attacked our 6-month old PUPPY - and when I say attacked - I mean bit our dog in the face to the point where he was gushing blood.
The owner refused to apologize because she "would not admit fault, because she's a lawyer" (her words).
When I escalated this to Ryan Moran, the General Manager, he moved them to another table and allowed them to stay. He then told me he was going to file a report and he was going to obtain both my information and her information - and then share that with us.
The restaurant did not call the police, so we did when we saw nothing was being done. When the police arrived, the woman and her dog had left.
It was then - when the police began to question him - that he admitted that the woman had refused to give her information. Even worse, Ryan Moran basically refused to cooperate with the police by providing them with any information.
Long story short, The Dorian, intentionally allowed a patron with an aggressive/violent dog to stay, lied to us several times about what was being done, and refused to cooperate with the police.
The worst part is, if you look at my previous reviews of this restaurant - it was extremely positive. I've been here so many times, even posted them on my foodie account on Instagram...so, it felt all the more insulting when I was treated this way.
And I can't help but feel like it wasn't a coincidence that I'm a Black woman and the restaurant gave priority to this white female lawyer (who's dog LITERALLY attacked another customer's puppy) - and intentionally allowed her to get away.
I will NEVER come back to The Dorian. If you have a dog - or if you believe in being intentional and voting with your dollars - there’s plenty of great restaurants in SF, and this one - it ain't it, next.
Amazing service drinks and food ! 10/10! Would most definitely come back and recommend to others!
Food and drinks were amazing! Those brioche buns are addictive!
We went for Sunday brunch. The service was a bit slow and the breakfast potatoes arrived cold. The worst part was when we asked for sugar (not sweet and low or equal) for our coffee, the waiter said they didn’t have any. Anywhere. Then he gave us so nonsense about the chef’s “commitment to healthy food”. Say what? No sugar? How’s he make those delicious sticky buns? LOL weird.
Really good food. Great location. Some of the outside booth areas were little parties- like frat parties. Kinda gross. Slow service- considering there is a time limit.
Rude and unprofessional waitress. I reported to the manager but the manager wanted to protect the waitress and gave me an unacceptable response. I suggest the restaurant spend more time training the staff vs. finding excuses for them. I would not have written this review if the manager just apologized and said they would make improvements. Very disappointing. Food is pretty good otherwise. I am a very fair person.
Great vibe, kind service, yummy food.
Excellent dinner and drinks to wrap up our visit to then at area
Staff doesn’t care and the food was average. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.
Great for date night. Outdoor dining after sunset is a tad cold, but the cocktails are awesome and will warm you right up. Our waitress was on top of everything. We were here for SF Restaurant Week but plan on coming back for the regular menu. This is my new favorite restaurant given the ambiance, cocktails, and well-crafted food menu.
So awesome! It was our 1 year anniversary. Abbey the host made the experience very delightful and was incredibly accommodating!! Will be back !
We went out and tested out the restaurant week menu. They were out of steaks, which is what I wanted to have. My meal was made incorrectly and had to be remade. The chicken was dry, and the farro it was served on was cold. The dessert was undercooked, as if batter was served directly to us in a cast iron. We don’t think it’s a good place for dinner, but probably better for drinks and appetizers.
We went for the restaurant week. The food was good overall. The steak frite was amazing, the califlower/lettuce cups and the brownie were more average. Big portions.
Ate here for SF Restaurant Week, so had their tasting menu. Nice selection of choices for the menu. All dishes were very good. They ran out of a couple choices from the dessert section but was fine in the end. Would definitely come back!!!
The crab cake benedict was VERY good. I paired it with the Libertine from their brunch menu and that worked week together. 👍
We were disappointed with our dinner Friday night. First, it took forever to get our drinks. The staffing seemed uneven. One bartender going crazy and other bar staff chatting with customers. Secondly, my fish and chips dinner was sub par. It was a small order of mostly greasy batter with a small amount if fish. I didn't mind the small amount. I minded the quality.
Service was very slow, drinks took a while to get there. Expensive!
Good ambiance. Weird seating. Kind of felt kicked out at the end
Great experience! Would totally recommend to everyone!
They ran out of oysters and it was really cold. But, the food was amazing and the service was even better!
Even though it was packed outside on a Sunday brunch, the brunch was really tasty!
Rude and pretentious staff
