The Dorian is an ode to a bygone era, a modern day parlor for the bohemians, libertines and free thinkers among us. A place where Oscar Wilde might have dropped in for a drink or Jerry Thomas would have tended bar. Offering fresh provisions and fine whiskey, The Dorian is the quintessential destination to enjoy good times for good times sake.
Our menu draws from San Francisco’s rich culinary history, taking the liberty to explore and re-invent nostalgic favorites and concoct new dishes alike. Our beverage program treads a bohemian path, borrowing from the past and dreaming up new ways to have fun through libations. We couple this with an extensive list of over 120 whiskeys from around the world.

Service was spectacular! Food was fine, drinks were great, had a blast.
I had a blast having a Sunday birthday brunch here, but it was more because of the company I had rather than the restaurant. First of all, we were seated in a lounge area with the seats being a couch and foot rest stools and the table being a chest/coffee table. That was really not ideal for eating, especially with a party of 6. The food portions were also ridiculously tiny. Never have I paid so much for hash and received so little food. Very disappointing. Tasted just okay, nothing special. I got a free birthday apple crumble which was a nice gesture, but everyone agreed that it did not taste good. The flavor wasn't there, and the apples were not cooked through. Because of this experience, I will not return for food, just late night drinks since it's a fun bar. Key takeaways: poor value, too expensive, tiny portions, mediocre food.
Food was cold when we received it and took way to long.
The server and staff was very friendly and accommodating. The deviled eggs were delicious. The beignets were awesome. The fried chicken sliders left were over cooked and dry. The thing that was “bad” was the music. It was so loud the staff couldn’t hear us with our voices raised. It was early kid 2000’s rap which I love but it was so loud I couldn’t hear myself think. Like a club late in a Saturday night. Not at brunch on a Saturday.
I would not recommend
Way way way too loud. We couldn’t hear each other at all because they were bumping club music when we just wanted a nice dinner. We also had reservations but still had to wait 30 mins before being seated. We won’t be returning.
small food menu but the burger was delicious as was the seafood cioppino!
Tuesday Night Rocks and Rose was super fun! The special is 1/2 off Rose and Oysters. We shared that and split a Burger and Truffle Fries. YUM!
Fun environment and great service from our waitress Sydney.
We came here for dinner on Wednesday night, and the food and drinks were delicious. The Dorian burger is one of the best I've had in the city (and I eat out A LOT). Excellent selection of wine, cocktails, and the frozen frose drink is off the charts. Service was attentive, and the place was bumping with good energy crowd and music. Highly recommend it for a night out with friends or a date!
Def will be back!!!
My gal pals and I kicked off a bachelorette celebration at The Dorian for brunch! Our waitress treated us to some mini frose drinks and a dessert! The sweet gesture (pun intended) combined with the ambiance and atmosphere really helped set the tone for a special day celebrating the bride-to-be! <3
I can't wait to go back with more friends!
I have been to The Dorian many times and have shared with friends a recommendation. This time, I am sad to say I will not come back. The food quality dropped, the service level dropped, the drinks quality dropped, the price level stayed the same. Sad to say I will not be back again.
We went on a Saturday night - The service was extremely friendly and the music was great. They played throwback hip-hop music that night. Great cocktails and very fun environment. Food was good, but pretty expensive. I'm all about fine dining, if the food and atmosphere is worth it. Atmosphere is worth it, but food was a little overpriced, just for American food.
Outstanding food, freshly prepared, however very noisy. Perfect for a night out but less suitable for a having dinner.
Cool vibe if you're looking for a brunch party. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was ok, nothing special so maybe I just didn't order the best item.
This was my third time at Dorian in about 4 weeks. Two times were for brunch and the last time was pleasant. This most recent brunch visit was just OK. Despite having reservations, I had to wait forever to be seated, and the place was not at full capacity. I’m going to strike this up as an anomaly because I’ve had good service here in the past. The food was good, just do something about the music. It was playing at a club level and I couldn’t have a conversation with my dining mate. We had to ask to have the music turned down. I mean, if there is no dance floor, why should there be blaring music in a restaurant?
I went to the Dorian with a group of 5 friends for brunch. With a reservation, we were seated at a small booth near the bar. It was much louder than expected -- both from the music that was playing (2000s music) and the guests. I enjoy 2000s music as much as any other, but it didn't seem appropriate for brunch. Food was good -- average price of San Francisco brunch. However, getting the attention of our server was difficult. When leaving, I saw that there was another room (brighter and likely quieter) and wondered why we couldn't have been seated there.
service very poor and food average
Waited an hour for food in a barely filled restaurant. Waitress blamed it on “a few large parties ahead of us”. Comped our drinks. Table next to us were seated after us and got their food within 15 mins of ordering. What a joke.
This is the first time I've done brunch at the Dorian. The food was good but our service was awful. We waited nearly 30 minutes to receive our drinks after sitting down. We had 4 people and they gave us two menus and said they would come back with more but never did. I got a bloody mary with no garnish. I asked if there was celery and the server said they ran out. I looked at other patrons at the bar and they all had celery sticks so I went to the bartender and asked for one. Incredibly small and silly things but the waiter was clearly just lazy and lied to us. Our millionaire's bacon was cold when it came out and my egg scramble was room temperature. I was really disappointed at the lack of attention to detail. It wasn't even over crowded or super busy. No sports games for people to crowd in for. Very surprising.
More of a bar than restaurant . They serve a lot of whiskey.
LOVED LOVED LOVED
all was great except the womans restroom lighting which was almost dark
Very cool spot and food was great!
Came here for brunch and had an amazing experience! Fantastic food, cocktails are some of the best, and great service and a vibrant and cool atmosphere. We have come here few times for dinner as well and received the same outstanding experience, and the menu changes seasonally. Excellent bar scene that is packed with an energetic, friendly and beautiful crowd. Highly recommend 5+ stars!!
The bottomless brunch experience is fun! They have some healthy brunch options too, which is nice.
Did not get seated until a while after our reservation and no one came to our table to take our order until I had to get up and ask for it a while later
good spot good vibe, server a bit dismissive and not terribly attentive...
We came here on Wednesday for a group dinner with a bunch of friends, and had a delightful time. The food and service was excellent, coupled with a vibrant scene. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back! The bar scene in the evenings get busy and bustling, so suggest to make a reservation if you are planning to get a table for dinner.
Food good! Noise / music bordering on unbearable.
TOO NOISY!!! It was very difficult to carry on a conversation. Our wait staff was wonderful though. The drinks were good, the food okay.
The food was amazing, and the service was just as wonderful. We will definitely be coming back here! Make sure to get the Frose!
Love love love this place. New favorite for 2018
Service was prompt and attentive. Food was delicious. We went for the cocktail list, which did not disappoint.
Place was packed but the service was outstanding. Our waiter was really top notch and really friendly. The food was also really delicious. The only complaint was th insane amount of music playing. I asked them to turn it down which they did but the music was just too much. Maybe the bass was just too intense for the time we went.
Love the frosé and truffle fries !
Went for their Tuesday special for oysters. Got there right when they opened only to tell us they didn’t have oysters for the day. Only had over priced drinks
Terrible service. Were given an attitude by the hostess when our table wasn’t ready as scheduled, and we were completely ignored for 20+ minutes before anyone took our order. Drinks were delivered after our meals, and no side items accompanied the meal. Total miss
Very noisy and food just average but our server was great. Gave us free tastes of the Froze when I mentioned it which was very thoughtful. Also gave good recommendations.
We came here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and had an unfortunate experience. Given that I had been here to enjoy their delicious brunch previously, I thought for sure we'd have the same awesome experience for a late lunch/early dinner - we were quickly proven wrong.
1.) Music was BLARING ; we were in a tight booth with 5 of us screaming face to face.
2.) 5 of us were squeezed into a booth that could barely hold 4 - incredibly uncomfortable.
3.) The server was CLUELESS. She forgot to bring one of our appetizers and finally did after reminding her several times.
4.) Food and drinks were OK, but the overall experience really soiled this part for us.
I understand this is more of a bar-type environment than a restaurants, but come ON!
Food was well priced and very good. I ordered the chicken sliders which were crispy and perfect. The truffle fries were excellent as well. We had a large party of 6, the music was fun but it was very difficult to have a conversation. The service was not great.. waited a long time to get drinks and the place wasn’t busy. Also some of the crowd was completely wasted so it’s an interesting vibe.
