The Dorian is an ode to a bygone era, a modern day parlor for the bohemians, libertines and free thinkers among us. A place where Oscar Wilde might have dropped in for a drink or Jerry Thomas would have tended bar. Offering fresh provisions and fine whiskey, The Dorian is the quintessential destination to enjoy good times for good times sake.
Our menu draws from San Francisco’s rich culinary history, taking the liberty to explore and re-invent nostalgic favorites and concoct new dishes alike. Our beverage program treads a bohemian path, borrowing from the past and dreaming up new ways to have fun through libations. We couple this with an extensive list of over 120 whiskeys from around the world.
Please Note: We reserve 50% of our reservations for walk-in customers.

I love this place. There food and drinks are awesome! However, they should really improve their service.
Ambience was good for the most part but stars were lost when a homeless guy ran into the restaurant..twice.
Despite having a reservation, had to wait 20+ min for table for four.
It was nice, I think we were just tired
Honestly a better option for drinks with the squad than trying to make The Dorian your dinner spot. Had a weird waiting situation to get seated for our reservation, but things were fine once we got underway.
I absolutely love this place. My preferred waitress is Kay. She’s wonderful. Only thing I’d change is to make the Frosè a little sweeter.
I didn’t like the decor or the crowd. It seemed super contrived and it was way over price for basic food.
Overall the place was extremely loud. If your going to be a bar that tries to be a restaurant, you should say that. A heads up that the noise level is so high that you can barely talk would have been nice.
The food was ok. The sliders were the best thing as well as the truffle fries. The mushroom appetizer was gross. I get the idea of trying to be trendy and deep frying maitake mushrooms but it just doesnt work. The sauce served with them was disgusting.
Our drinks were mediocre at best. The listing says it’s a whiskey bar which is why I made the reso. No one told us about whiskeys. There was 1 whiskey cocktail on the menu and everything else didn’t look appealing. The frosé was absolutely disgusting. I choked it down cause I ordered it. No sweetness at all and no flavor either. Topped off with nerds was just bizarre as well. The Manhattan my date ordered was basic and boring. Nothing special at all.
The service was as good as it could be with 1 server taking care of all the tables. Ppl were so close to us we could hear their conversation more than our own.
I definitely knew I made the wrong reso when someone ordered a punch bowl drink and the servers started screaming and shooting a blow torch in the air. This was a bar that served bar food. Not a restaurant. I would suggest playing lower music to begin and then at a certain time cranking up the music to be a more trendy place for just drinks.
The group next to us was sitting and more and more ppl were joining them at a long table. So many ppl came they were encroaching on our table. If I wanted to look at a wall of backs I could have just stared at a wall. The hostess should be controlling how many ppl are at a table and the bar.
Be ready for a very loud atmosphere!
Overall I was super disappointed!
Just about everything was on point at The Dorian. Our waitress, Felicity was super delightful and I would be happy to be sat at one of her tables again. The food was beyond incredible and I cannot wait to return to try more of the items, brunch or other. The only disappointment was the fact that I had taken my friend here for her birthday. The hostess had mentioned a birthday celebration as I had initially put it in the reservation notes. After that, I was expecting an acknowledgement that never came. My friend had also overheard this mention and although she never said anything to me, may have been hoping for something as well. That said, we just will decide to choose another venue for any kind of life celebration as it certainly was not highlighted here.
Awesome. Will keep coming back
Everything was fantastic — great food, great service, really fun place!
Awful. I wont waste anymore of my time or words on this joke of an "eatery"
The restaurant is really gorgeous and the menu fun and tasty. Unfortunately, my friend and I didn't expect there to be hip hop music blasting during brunch, so loud that we could barely have a conversation at our table without yelling, and the hostess had trouble hearing us. It's a fun place for sure, but don't go here for weekend brunch with someone you want to catch up with. Also the service was really spotty. Several large groups of girls dining and yelling, and our table was frequently neglected. We probably will not return even though the cocktails were delicious and food was delicious.
One of the best burgers in the city! We've been here a few times, and it is always a tremendous experience. Service is friendly and efficient. Fun, lively, and bustling atmosphere and a great looking crowd. On the weekends, the bar area gets very busy and is the place to be scene. Highly recommend the frose and the house-made cocktails, especially the fable of bees.
Great vibe, great food, beautiful space, and really good service! DEFINITELY going back!
Service on new years day was awful. Our waitress admitted she came directly from a party and didn't sleep after her 4 am shift. Requested a cup of coffee from two separate people and it took three asks to get it (after I received my food). Additionally, a guest in our party was vegetarian and requested a burrito with NO MEAT and they gave us a burrito with NO BEANS! On top of that, the management didn't comp the meal!
I'd stick to drinks only if you're ever considering brunch or a meal at the Dorian.
Kind of an odd place--funky decor. Service somewhat slow. Though the menu is limited, the food was excellent. Cocktails were expensive but interesting and good. No draft beer and very limited wine list. It is a fun place.
Love the venue!
Really mediocre brunch. Here’s the thing- you’re not my doctor. And to cook eggs with no seasoning- like none-and then have to beg for salt and pepper- well that just about sums the place up. Salmon Benedict? Oops no salmon today. Not sure how this place stays busy. Cos it’s not the food. Service was so much better than the food. So I will give them that.
Service was spectacular! Food was fine, drinks were great, had a blast.
I had a blast having a Sunday birthday brunch here, but it was more because of the company I had rather than the restaurant. First of all, we were seated in a lounge area with the seats being a couch and foot rest stools and the table being a chest/coffee table. That was really not ideal for eating, especially with a party of 6. The food portions were also ridiculously tiny. Never have I paid so much for hash and received so little food. Very disappointing. Tasted just okay, nothing special. I got a free birthday apple crumble which was a nice gesture, but everyone agreed that it did not taste good. The flavor wasn't there, and the apples were not cooked through. Because of this experience, I will not return for food, just late night drinks since it's a fun bar. Key takeaways: poor value, too expensive, tiny portions, mediocre food.
Food was cold when we received it and took way to long.
The server and staff was very friendly and accommodating. The deviled eggs were delicious. The beignets were awesome. The fried chicken sliders left were over cooked and dry. The thing that was “bad” was the music. It was so loud the staff couldn’t hear us with our voices raised. It was early kid 2000’s rap which I love but it was so loud I couldn’t hear myself think. Like a club late in a Saturday night. Not at brunch on a Saturday.
I would not recommend
Way way way too loud. We couldn’t hear each other at all because they were bumping club music when we just wanted a nice dinner. We also had reservations but still had to wait 30 mins before being seated. We won’t be returning.
small food menu but the burger was delicious as was the seafood cioppino!
Tuesday Night Rocks and Rose was super fun! The special is 1/2 off Rose and Oysters. We shared that and split a Burger and Truffle Fries. YUM!
Fun environment and great service from our waitress Sydney.
We came here for dinner on Wednesday night, and the food and drinks were delicious. The Dorian burger is one of the best I've had in the city (and I eat out A LOT). Excellent selection of wine, cocktails, and the frozen frose drink is off the charts. Service was attentive, and the place was bumping with good energy crowd and music. Highly recommend it for a night out with friends or a date!
Def will be back!!!
My gal pals and I kicked off a bachelorette celebration at The Dorian for brunch! Our waitress treated us to some mini frose drinks and a dessert! The sweet gesture (pun intended) combined with the ambiance and atmosphere really helped set the tone for a special day celebrating the bride-to-be! <3
I can't wait to go back with more friends!
I have been to The Dorian many times and have shared with friends a recommendation. This time, I am sad to say I will not come back. The food quality dropped, the service level dropped, the drinks quality dropped, the price level stayed the same. Sad to say I will not be back again.
We went on a Saturday night - The service was extremely friendly and the music was great. They played throwback hip-hop music that night. Great cocktails and very fun environment. Food was good, but pretty expensive. I'm all about fine dining, if the food and atmosphere is worth it. Atmosphere is worth it, but food was a little overpriced, just for American food.
Outstanding food, freshly prepared, however very noisy. Perfect for a night out but less suitable for a having dinner.
Cool vibe if you're looking for a brunch party. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was ok, nothing special so maybe I just didn't order the best item.
This was my third time at Dorian in about 4 weeks. Two times were for brunch and the last time was pleasant. This most recent brunch visit was just OK. Despite having reservations, I had to wait forever to be seated, and the place was not at full capacity. I’m going to strike this up as an anomaly because I’ve had good service here in the past. The food was good, just do something about the music. It was playing at a club level and I couldn’t have a conversation with my dining mate. We had to ask to have the music turned down. I mean, if there is no dance floor, why should there be blaring music in a restaurant?
I went to the Dorian with a group of 5 friends for brunch. With a reservation, we were seated at a small booth near the bar. It was much louder than expected -- both from the music that was playing (2000s music) and the guests. I enjoy 2000s music as much as any other, but it didn't seem appropriate for brunch. Food was good -- average price of San Francisco brunch. However, getting the attention of our server was difficult. When leaving, I saw that there was another room (brighter and likely quieter) and wondered why we couldn't have been seated there.
service very poor and food average
Waited an hour for food in a barely filled restaurant. Waitress blamed it on “a few large parties ahead of us”. Comped our drinks. Table next to us were seated after us and got their food within 15 mins of ordering. What a joke.
This is the first time I've done brunch at the Dorian. The food was good but our service was awful. We waited nearly 30 minutes to receive our drinks after sitting down. We had 4 people and they gave us two menus and said they would come back with more but never did. I got a bloody mary with no garnish. I asked if there was celery and the server said they ran out. I looked at other patrons at the bar and they all had celery sticks so I went to the bartender and asked for one. Incredibly small and silly things but the waiter was clearly just lazy and lied to us. Our millionaire's bacon was cold when it came out and my egg scramble was room temperature. I was really disappointed at the lack of attention to detail. It wasn't even over crowded or super busy. No sports games for people to crowd in for. Very surprising.
