About this restaurant

Steakhouse, Nano-brewery & Hotel. We aim to offer a casual and informal dining space where everybody can feel comfortable. Start your visit with a pre-meal drink at the bar (we brew our own cask ales and have fantastic wines).

There are a choice of dining rooms. In the Winter, resplendent with its log fires, our "snug" room is favourite. The main restaurant area has views from the front of the property, and perfect for the Summer, our conservatory overlooks the garden to the rear.

Alan Ford, our head chef, is a rare talent. Stints at many of Kent's finest restaurants culminated in his appointment at a North Kent coastal restaurant in 2006 where his cooking was recognised by the AA & Michelin guide. In 2013 he joined us.

The food was lovely, nice atmosphere in the pub and although they didn't seem to know what was going in the staff were friendly. However I would not recommend booking online as they had no idea we had even made a booking, we were just lucky they had a spare table.

The website information was incorrect. It still had an offer showing which was a year old. My friend saw something on the website menu that she fancied but when we got there the item was not on the menu we were given. The chef managed to conjure up something similar for her, so credit for that, but suggest you keep your website up to date and also get the 'May be hacked' message dealt with. My first choice was from the pub menu and I was told this was not available in the evening but this was not stated on the menu. The food and service were good. A little pricey for portion size.

Awful simply awful food. For supposedly a steakhouse - the steaks (plural as I sent one back and left its replacement) were simply inedible - they shouted poor quality from a cheap supplier, and were both completely overcooked despite asking for the opposite. My wife left her main course as well. All in all the worst meal we've had in a very long time and expensive too.

Enjoyed an excellent meal with friends in front of the wood burner as part of a Groupon Deal. We all enjoyed our three courses and would recommend this Pub with rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and the decor simple and modern. Being vegetarian I was pleased to see three choices on the menu and would happily chosen any but decided on the Pea and Mint Risotto which was delicious.

A lovely pub. Delicious Sunday lunch excellent Gypsy tart. The couple running it are super. It will be a regular for us

Had heard about the steaks and this place did not disappoint. I went for the tomahawk steak and it was cooked to perfection and to die for. Washed it down with a couple pints of their own pale ale too. Wife went for the seabream - looked and tasted great. Overall very impressive but a little quiet on the night we went so atmosphere a little lacking. We were told that the place had just been relaunched and if they keep the quality as we had it'll very soon get busier. Worth a try.
