Very bad overall experience. Only visited twice this year and for the 2nd time in a row, when we set down at an outdoor table, it was very wobbly and extremely unstable. The first time we were able to somewhat stabilize with many napkins. In this case it was so bad nothing worked. When we asked the waitress to move us she started that all the tables where like that and everyone complains. After hearing this we walked out. What a terribly managed business! We will never go there again.
It was our 29th wedding anniversary and we recently moved to the Poconos and wanted a casual place with a view of the lake I found this restaurant online. The food was delicious and our waitress was wonderful! The staff was very friendly. I asked for outdoor seating because I thought we would have a view of the lake but there was no view of the lake from outside unless you are sitting closer to the back. Seating inside along the windows would have provided a better view.
Great service and food/drinks. The deck is terrific to sit on with perfect summer weather.
Disappointing. Prices are high for average food. Nothing is included. No bread, salad is extra. Only two desserts offered. There are other similarly priced restaurants that provide better food and service.
Waitress was friendly and had a great sense of humor.
Food was glorious, waitstaff was so-so. Views were amazing.
Food quality doesn't justify price. Host/manager did not want to seat us to the table we ask for, with explanation that she has bigger party coming in, totally okey if it was a truth. 15 min later she seat same size party at the table we ask for. Coming from the city, trying to enjoy lake and peace. Would never come back for dinnet there. Spend 200 on wine and food, just try some dinners in area, way better.
What a great restaurant! The food was delicious, and you couldn't ask for a better atmosphere. I can wait to go back. Hats off to the chef, every thing we tried was fabulous.
Overall a good experience .. 4 star was because pizza appetizer that 3 out of 4 who sampled the pizza all agreed it was not good. Bottom seemed to be ok but not the top .
Would not order it again
If you are eating outdoors, view of lake is limited, deck isn't that wide, and they keep the only two lakefront tables open for parties that might show up without reservations of 6 or more; even with reservations, our party of 3 could not sit lakefront, and we watched those two tables sit empty for the 1.5 hours we were there, early lunch at 12 (weekday, off season). We were 4 or 5 rows back and didn't have a good view, which was the main reason we drove there (an hour away) to have lunch. Don't know why they just couldn't put two tables together further back if they got a larger party, there were many open tables. Other than that, food and service were very good, the place was very nice.
Decent menu, great spot! Service was slow but totally fine.
Lovely setting with great food. Beautiful views
Food was good, but they drastically overbooked through open table. We had specifically made reservations for outdoor seating at 7:15 to catch the sunset at 7:34, but weren’t seated until a full 30 minutes after we arrived and totally missed the sunset. We had been looking forward to a nice, relaxing meal and sunset after a very stressful week and this delay totally blew it. Staff sort of apologized, but just ended up making excuses instead of a true apology. Everything after that was adequate. Food was good, but be prepared for an exceptionally long wait even with reservations, and don’t go with any sort of time table in mind.
Understaffed, overbooked through open table reservations online causing long seating wait times and food was cold when served
Our waitress was aweful she forgot just about everything, messed up the order, forgot to bring water and never refilled our water or soda or picked up dirty glasses or plates. We came to show our kids where we were married for our 8 year wedding anniversary. The pretzel board was amazing but everything else was a let down especially considering we have eaten there many times before and it has decided in value over the years. The kid never got the cookies that came with their kids meals. We had to ask another waitress for help when one of our mala was messed up because we couldn't find our waitress and waited a while. $130 down the toilet.
Very good swordfish dinner special! Very good fish tacos from the regular menu. Good drinks and nice wine selection. Really enjoyed the lovely lake view and sunset. Young staff tries their best. A very relaxing ambiance.
Food was terrible!
Place to try. Wonderful food, service and the view of Lake wonderful.
We love the option of dock and dine but the service at the bar was bordering on rude and the food was not very good. They also have a poor wine selection. Overall disappointed in the dining experience.
Food is good but they need to clean more
Unfortunate experience. The structure is in need of big upgrades. Also surprisingly for us was the dirt factor.
Really dirty. Cobwebs on windows in dining area. Cleaning supplies just leaning on walls next to tables. Restroom was not cleaned from night before. Floor covered with toilet paper and no paper towels.
Left over mess from the night before everywhere.
If this is the Settlers Hospitality Group new normal we won’t be visiting any of their sites.
Upon arrival to the Dock, we stood at the reservation desk and waited. We had a 3 :30 reservation. The young lady totally ignored us. We told her we had a reservation. She said "wait for the tables to be cleared". we waited about ten minutes, I finally said to her "we have a 3:30 reservation and you have about 5 tables sitting empty" she said "they are reserved" I said again we are one of them. With an attitude, she told someone to take us to a table. Upon sitting, we were greeted with a wonderful young lady as our waitress. She was outstanding. We have a boat at Lake Wallenpaupack and visit your restaurant very often. We have never had an experience like this before.
Very disappointed in the Dock. Service was terrible except for the woman who brought our water! The waitress needs a different job. Took a long time to place food order after getting drinks. 2 people who ordered steak, had to ask for steak knives, and then she brought one! Never asked how our food was or if we wanted more drinks, and when we did order a 2nd drink, we were done with dinner by the time it arrived. Food quality was just fair for very high prices. Salmon portion was very small. The manager came and asked how things were, and we gave him a whole litany of complaints and he did nothing to make us happy! (like offer free dessert or drink). When coffee was ordered after dinner, a hostess told us we would need to move to another table since she had a reservation for ours, so we canceled and left! In all my years of dining, never had that happen. I spent many years waitressing, so I try to be patient, but this took the cake.
Beautiful outdoor setting right on lake wallenpaupack. Food is great . Love everything about it.
Atmosphere, service, and quality were excellent. Only concern was prices for entrees were very high for the area. Average was approximately $10 higher on most dishes than other area restaurant
Service was great but everything else was pretty average. Not impressed with the food or drinks for the price.
Lovely place and service very welcoming!
Would be happy to dine there again!
Food was ok but at times kind of tasteless. I feel like their location is their strong point, not the food.
Mediocre food and service, which is unfortunate because there could be so much potential with the location and the lake view.
Arrived at the restaurant by boat. The walkway to the restaurant from the dock is very steep. The food was good and the service was friendly. If you arrive later ask what time the kitchen closes because it closed during our dinner with a 8:00pm reservation.
We left before we were served. The worst anniversary experience ever. See your face book page for the review- was out first and last time in your overpriced unprofessional atmosphere. Thank you for embarrassing my friend who works in your establishment by completely botching our experience there
Staff is so friendly and food was amazing …definitely make reservations though there were so many people that couldn’t get seats because they had no reservations
We went for a birthday lunch and it was very tasty and the view was amazing. The service was good and the waitress was attentive. We enjoyed ourselves!
Food was outstanding!!!! Service is great! View is the best!
Birthday luncheon. Excellent food. Prompt good service.
We love it here, overall was a great visit. Only downfall was the rather loud party, a family of 15 that was seated behind us.
They were originally seated at separate tables, then they decided to push all the tables together to form one large table. It was like musical chairs as their kids ran around, everyone yelling, and taking loud regardless of the other diners such as ourselves. This lasted for a half hour. Once our food arrived, we tried tuning them out to enjoy our delicious meal. I ordered the blackened fish tacos. They are now my go to meal. I typically don't enjoy seafood, but tried these on a whim. I'm so glad I did. The pickled cabbage was nice, and crisp, snapper was meaty, and not fishy. Our kids each ordered a pizza(Margherita & basil),(the godfather) they love the crispness of the crust with the slight smoky char. Great flavor, each unique & equally tasty. My husband had the blackend chicken Ceasar salad. It was a decent sized salad for an entree. We will return, the food is always good
Restaurant is dirty and service is poor. The floor was a mess. Wait staff was slow and non responsive.
We dined here on the recommendation of a diner who highly recommended it. Buyer beware. The food was all served over cooked and barely edible. The service was not much better. We were comp'd a bit for our complaint about the food, but it doesn't really help. The manager didn't even come by to apologize - perhaps he'd heard the same complaint too much by then. It is hard to find good help these days, I get that, but we ordered some simple to prepare meals and this place failed to live up to its reputation to get anything right or even edible enough. The clam in the manhattan clam chowder was chewy from the can stuff, with barely cooked diced potatoes. The calamari appetizer was cooked too long in the fryer and clearly from frozen (and way too salty). The salmon over risotto was way too overcooked - the salmon flaked apart and not in a moist way, but in an overcooked flakey way. The steak tasted like it was charred too long over the flame, the hamburger was overdone and the fries served were way too overdone - cracked in half they were airy because the potato was cooked to the point of dehydration. The coconut shrimp was way, way overdone. It knocked when hitting the table. It cracked in half while being eaten. Inedible. But for our appetites and the scarcity of finding food nearby (other restaurant fill up quick and supermarkets are a long drive away), we ate some of the food. It was clearly an off night, but the little things were off too - no ketchup at the tables (what was there was used up and clearly not refilled). They do weddings there and I hope the good cooks were assigned to those paying per head for their meals. The ambience is charming. But call in advance if you want a seek on the deck of The Dock, otherwise, you're indoors without a view. I can't believe the prices here too for the food. This place is in need of an overhaul.
A great night - good food, great service and beautiful views of the lake!
