I will NEVER go to the Dive at the St. Clair Inn! Wanting to shop local I made a reservation for myself at the Dive. Merry Christmas to me from me. That was a HUGE mistake. Upon my arrival at 4:47 for 5:00, the receptionist informed me that there was no way I a reservation because there is no seating at this time, Condescendingly she then asked if I had the wrong restaurant and “You do know the River Crab is up the road…”, I replied My reservation HERE for 1 at 5:00. I made it through OpenTable. She then snipped OpenTable reservations wasn’t live on Christmas and the Dive isn’t taking reservations. The receptionist explained that see needed to see proof of my reservation because the last seating was at 4:45 (it was now 4:50) , I showed my confirmation, to which she told me again that the Dive wasn’t taking reservations let alone through OpenTable. She then took my phone as proof to show her manager. After a few minutes of her “ roaming” the hallways she came back and said that actually said I should have called to check my reservation, OpenTable isn’t live on Christmas and the Dive wasn’t taking reservations. I was visibly upset and asked for the number to corporate. The receptionist kept clacking away on the computer explaining that she was trying find the number. I left the inn and called back to speak to the manager. Maybe get a better explanation of what happened and the number for corporate. Ron the manager was unapologetic, sounded bothered that I had the audacity to call and did not like that I interrupted his schedule to ask why I couldn’t be seated. He then told me that nothing was going on, NO RESERVATIONS so all staff was let go at 3:30. Weird, why did your receptionist say the last seating was at 4:45? What about the guests checking in, there’s no room service? I truly expected more from a Marriott property. I requested that Ron call me but I never heard from him.
