   The menu and atmosphere was terrific, but the actual meal was thoroughly disappointing. No mint for the cocktail I ordered (not too many cocktails on the menu, so ingredients should be stocked or guests told about it before ordering). We were told a different cocktail would be comped (but never was). Went downhill from there.

   Fries were cold. Breakfast bowl was a soggy mess. Just wasn’t very good.

   This was one of the most disappointing dinners out we’ve ever had, and we eat out a lot. Reservation for 6:30, food didn’t arrive until 7:30. The wine was marked up 300 per cent. The burgers overdone. The salad amounted to wilted greens and overly garlicky dressing. The fries were soggy. When we told the wait staff we wouldn’t be leaving a tip and the many reasons why, we received a torrent of abuse. Life is too short for dinner at The District.

   Would not recommend for brunch.....food was cold! Service was great. Eggs Beni lukewarm....chip potatoes cold. Coffe good and waitress was super filling our cups.

   Great food, service was some of the worst I’ve experienced. When confronted about it, situation handled extremely poorly by management.

   Myself and some friends last minute decided to try find an open restaurant to go for dinner on Christmas Day. We used the OpenTable app to see what was open and happened to come across The District as one of the few places that actually had reservations available. I’m so glad we found this little gem in North Van. We all live downtown and normally wouldn’t have ventured across the water for a meal but I’m so glad that we did. This place was so awesome. The vibe was really warm and welcoming. The service was great and the food was absolutely amazing. Every one of us loved our meals so much. We highly recommend the deep fried Brussels sprouts and the braised ribs. Wow. We saw so much stuff on the menu we wanted to try so we will definitely be back again. Awesome food, great atmosphere, fantastic service and such a varied menu to choose from. Thanks so much for taking us on Xmas day

    The best part is the Belgian beer! Food was very disappointing! We were excited to go...but disappointed! Went for a birthday, but waited so long for our food we almost gave up! And when it did arrive it’s was mediocre! It’s unfortunately not as good as it can be!
