Service was food, food was enjoyable.
If you're looking for a place to grab a drink this is probably more for you. If you want a nice dinner out, this is most likely not the place to choose. When we walked in and told the host we had a reservation, they were very rude to us. I shouldn't say rude, but - they were not very polite.
Our regular server was much nicer and much more polite. They weren't necessarily very attentive to the table, especially considering we were the only ones in the restaurant part of the place. The food runners were the most polite and most attentive. The food itself was okay. Nothing really to complain about. The food tasted fine, but the price per meal did not match the quality.
While I wouldn't say we had an unpleasant experience, there are so many other restaurants in the area where the value for the price is better, and the staff treats you like you're welcome and not a disruption to their day.
Sat at the bar. Food was good, as was the service. Cajun shrimp app and the skirt steak entree were very good. Would definitely go back
We Loved this brunch. Waiters were very attentive to our requests.
My new NYC go to place. Great variety on the menu to appeal to all tastes. The food is fantastic and good sized portions. Wait Staff is knowledgeable and guide you on what to order. Skillet Chicken, Pasta, Steak Sandwich all GREAT. My second time there and I will be back again.
Wonderful experience, highly recommend for a pre theatre meal. Fast, upbeat, and friendly.
Fish and chips were tasty and cocktails were sublime. Delish
Great food, great service, not too expensive. We went as a small group. They were accommodating when our party of 5 turned into 6 and a baby at the last minute. We ordered our entrees and drinks. We thought our waitress was just trying to upsell us on an extra entree to share as an appetizer (french toast bites), but she was right - they were delicious and a good option to share (it was a big portion). I definitely recommend this restaurant and I'm looking forward to returning!
Loved this restaurant! Food and drinks were great and so was the ambiance. We will be back:)
We went to the Distillery tonight while in New York for a few days. This was an amazing find. We got the fried pickles (the breading is amazing.), the Chicky sliders, and the chicken and waffles. Everything came out quickly and delicious. The waiter was very kind and gave great recommendations and was very friendly. We had gone to many tourist traps sadly on our trip and this was a breath of fresh air. Great prices, great food, great drinks, better ambiance.
Great pre-theater casual location. Many options to satisfy all tastes! Great burgers
We walked in after walking about 8 blocks from HP and the Cursed Child and we were pleasantly surprised with how small and quaint the place was. The service was quick and the food was great.
We were extremely pleased with all aspects of this restaurant. Good food, drinks and service. Definitely recommend!
Great out of the way place for dinner. Lively but not obnoxious.
Sunday brunch with friends. Food was very good, drinks excellent. Nice spot for casual brunch without braking your wallet.
Good place if you are a sports fan or you want a good reasonably priced dinner before going to the theater. Nice selection, well prepared and served, not too noisy I would recommend and I would go back
again for dinner. Convenient to the theater district.
We made a 10:30 p.m. reservation for dinner here. When we arrived they seated us in the back dining area (alone) but gave us bar menus. When we asked, they said the chef leaves at 10 p.m. and so they can only serve the bar menu. If they are not going to have entrees available after a certain time, they should either not take reservations or make it clear on OpenTable that it will be only the bar menu. Even the restaurant's own website does not make this distinction, listing the kitchen open much later than it is is. The food is pretty good here -- when it's available.
Great spot for drinks with friends.
Really great place for a cute girls night out or a cute date.
The drinks were amazing !
The service was amazing !
I would def. go back .
We had a wonderful pre theater dinner for my mom’s birthday. Lovely holiday decorations, yummy food, good service, and not too loud in the back room. Will definitely go again!
The food here was delicious. We ordered the Burrata and Cajun Shrimp for appetizers - would definitely recommend both! For dinner we had the Arugula salad, Zucchini Noodle salad and the Pork-chop which were enjoyed by all. The Peanut Butter Pie is a must - so good! Would definitely come back again for another pre-theater dinner.
I must complement the service I received. All of the staff were efficient, pleasant and accommodating. It made our birthday celebration very enjoyable. I also liked its’ proximity to the Irish ArtsaCenter.
The drinks and food were absolutely incredible. My partner and I were in NYC for the weekend, and it was during Santa-con, which we were not prepared for. We wanted to find a quiet place with excellent handcrafted cocktails, and this was definitely the right choice. We're 26 with the mindset of 70 year-olds and will always choose the quiet holes in the wall over the places to party. I got two gin cocktails, and my partner got the smoked old fashioned and the Sweet Manhattan as well as a pumpkin beer they had on tap. We had fried pickles, and quite possibly the best chicken and waffles I have ever had.
Highly recommend this place.
Great food at affordable prices. Fast service! Have a bite then go see a show.
We went for brunch. Had chicken and waffles, french toast bites, eggs and Irish sausage. It was delicious. The orange butter and the bourbon maple syrup were fantastic. I would go there again.
Good food, great vibe.
Delicious drinks and good food! Our waiter was super attentive and helpful. Nice stop before a play as it’s close to broadway theaters.
WIthin walking distance to all theaters, I made a last minute reservation at The Distillery after I won a ticket lottery to see Mean Girls. I am not much of a drinker and do not normally drink gin so I didn't expect to drink at all. After asking the waiter for a recommendation for someone that doesn't drink gin he mentioned The Botanist as a choice. This drink was everything - tasted like grapefruit and basil and not a smidge of gin. By far one of the best drinks I've ever had. Cheers to that.
Great gluten free menu and knowledgeable waitstaff
Went here for a post theatre brunch . It was worth every calorie !!!!!
Comfort food at its best !! Can’t wait to return.
We went for brunch. Great food, service, and fun brunch drinks. Love the mimosa flight
We had a great pre-theater meal here. The food was excellent and the drink special was great. We enjoyed the mimosa flight. We appreciated that they did not rush us out. However, our service was very slow. We would definitely go again
Everything was excellent!
The quality of the food as not good. French fries were dry and overcooked. Hamburgers were marginal. The spinach dip was disgusting...after one bite no one ate it. Would not go there again. Seems like the main purpose is as a bar/ drink meeting place.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration meal at The Distillery prior to attending a broadway shop. Great place, wonderful service and great value for NYC. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great environment and the food was excellent!!! The service was a little slow though and it was not very crowded.
Had a great Thanksgiving dinner here. Food was delicious. I'd def come back for the food. Service was mostly ok. Waiter forgot to process the 10% off for the Yelp check-in and we ran out of water.
Good food, good portions at not NY prices. Got us in and out so we could catch bus transportation home.
Service was slow and sloppy, but the ambiance was warm and cozy and a bit on trend. And food was delicious! I would go again, but certainly not if you're in a hurry or looking for efficient waitstaff.
