Our server was wonderful. She was very attentive and smiled the whole evening.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet... So many options and choices, she it was so great! I loved the made to order waffles!
The food is all canned and will come out immediately. The waiters are there to optimize the speed and will literally throw plates in front of you and run away. The food is overpriced with horrible presentation.
Enjoyed our experience but wish there had more diners. Piano player made a great addition to an overall enjoyable evening.
Wonderful resort dining experience; wait staff needed to be more engaging but was acceptable; our meals were top notch.
Lovely experience every time. Neville took great care of our family during a couple dinners and breakfast one morning. Highly recommended.
the food and service are excellent. The dress code could be a little more refined. Some of the diners did not dress as though they were eating in a fine dining restaurant with a elegant atmosphere.
Fabulous service and beautifully prepared food. I only wish they would vary the menu day to day for those staying at the resort for multiple nights, especially those of us who are vegetarian and have the same offering over and over (pasta at both high end restaurants at the resort). They do have a vegan menu but it only offers tofu alternatives.
Great experience. Good food and great atmosphere.
Lovely evening! Food was delicious... except bernaise sauce was tasteless!
A must for any trip to The Homestead. Easy elegance and southern hospitality abound.
We come to the Homestead primarily to eat in The Dining Room. It never disappoints.
The food was excellent. Party of six had a wide selection of entrees and appetizers/salads. Everything was prepared well and very tasty. Server was attentive and amusing. The service pace was “leisurely”, but not what I would consider excessively slow. The room was attractive and we were seated at the edge of the raised ceiling surrounded by ornate columns and trim work. Pricing was on the high side and the selections were somewhat limited. While dinner was very good, the value for the price paid was underwhelming. It was as expected as far as the experience of the more formal resort dining room than a value proposition. Glad we went, but would likely not need to do again.
A wonderful dress up experience for our six year old granddaughter. The atmosphere and service was exceptional. The food was great and our granddaughter had an fantastic time enjoying the evening dining and dancing!
Menu offering rather limited. Very very overpriced. Nice ambiance but not really worth it
What a beautiful place to enjoy dinner. Service and food outstanding. Band was very good, without blasting you out of your seat!! We loved our server, Oscar! What a great personality!!!
Christian was our waitperson and he was awesome. The food was excellent and his service made the experience over the top wonderful.
Beautiful setting. Our waiter Oscar was very attentive. Great experience at the Homestead.
Three of my party enjoyed the very delicious Rock fish with the Black-eyed pea cake that was just out of this world. The waiter was absolutely professional and extremely efficient.
Perfect! Wonderful meal, nice background dining music. Will never forget dancing with my 9 year old daughter in the classic, elegant dining room!
We have been dining at the Homestead each year since our honeymoon, and this was for our 5th anniversary. The food is superb, and the service is always top-notch and comes with a personal touch.
Loved the live entertainment!
The food was not as good as the Jeffersons restaurant and less variety but the service was great. Our server Oscar was amazing and would be the only reason to go back, he deserves a raise!
The food and service was amazing as was the music!
Food was poor. Service was poor. Overpriced also especially for the quality
Jackie, our server, was wonderful! She was great with our grands and helped with any dietary needs we had. The kitchen worked with our gluten free and garlic free requests without delay. One big change...the menu does not change daily as we remembered from past visits...it is a set menu. We were not able to make reservations in other locations to vary the offerings as there were no available dining times before 8:30 in those venues. Suggest that reservations to dine be made well in advance. Nevertheless...we enjoyed our dining experience and our time with family!
Great waiter, great service & great dinner. We each had different seafood dishes and both were impeccable. Loved the old time flavor of this formal restaurant at the Old Homestead.
Outstanding food and service in an old world setting.
Konnroy was an exceptional server! We love having the same waitstaff each time we go.
We were visiting mid week for our daughters 8th birthday. The pianist played Happy Birthday and the dining room sang to her. It was a wonderful night and definitely one of the best meals of my life!
Food was better than average. Wait staff catered to the rude stuffy diners. Jefferson was more fun. Guess the Dining Room is for the seniors.
Overpriced Mediocre food. Very small portions. Very limited menu with almost no appetizers. Hurried service. No ambiance due to very loud noise level. Elegance is no longer.
It's a nice experience to eat in the Dining Room. The food portions are a bit small for the price, hence the stars. The food is tasty, but I prefer the food in the Jefferson better. The service is always excellent.
We have never had a bad service.
Food was OK and the value was not worth $140, and we did not even get a starter. It was hot near the windows and could not hear any music and no opportunity to dance. Even though open table asked, and I let them know it was our 35th anniversary, no mention was made of it. We loved the homestead but the dining room dinner was not something I would recommend.
Have been to Homestead many times before & this visit was disappointing. Waiter never refilled water nor asked about our service. He just put food down & came back to pick up the plates when finished. Waiter did not even serve & pick up from proper side. Food was very good, but not as we remember in the past-smaller portions. This was our anniversary dinner and I wrote that on the reservation but no mention was ever made of it. Even the morning buffet has been down-sized from our prior visits. I’ll visit Greenbrier instead of Homestead next time.
We had an incredible meal! Dined early with our 3 Kids (at 5:30pm) so it was perfect timing the live band started playing at 6pm with such beautiful music, food that came out was all incredibly delicious and had such beautiful presentation. It was good Friday today so we couldn’t eat meat but the trout entree was delicious, very French vibe to it, nice creamy but light sauce underneath so you can have as much as you needed and it wasn’t overwhelming. My Kids even ate some of the fish they loved the flavor so much. We also had the Mushroom “scallops” from the Vegan menu and let me tell you—it was like a work of culinary art and just a flavor bomb—the flavors came together beautifully. The salads we had were also very tasty—and the dessert, the Hummingbird dessert we had with the wine pairing was just perfect. The elderflower serbet that came on the side of that was absolutely amazing and brought that whole dessert together so beautifully. Service and timing was wonderful—Christian took such good care of us and made our anniversary dinner so special—thank you so much!!! Definitely ranks one of the best dinners we’ve had, and we are foodies from a big city! Highly recommend!
For the price of a $200 tab for two people the food was very poor....salad was good but overall I have had better meals flying business class to Europe.....maybe do high end Italian with brick oven pizza or use the Jefferson dining room menu as it was excellent however!!!!
Service was excellent just the food was poor....attire was very relaxed.... I thought a jacket was required then I saw jeans and Hawaiian shirts.... live music was way old probably could have had a Dinner jazz DJ and faired better.... look I would go back to the resort.... but not the Main Dining room!
Service was poor and food was not appealing. Not hot. Dining Room needs a complete reboot.
Our waiter Oscar was incredible! Affable, hard working and attentive. A real credit to your franchise. Please hire more people like him.
