The Dining Room at Salishan Presents Harvest
This dining room is timeless. Beautiful setting, warm, inviting and serene. That said, the food is marginal and doesn’t keep up with the environment. The hazelnuts in our salad were rancid and both our dinners were served lukewarm. The flavor on the lamb was excellent though. Next night we went to Kyllo’s, while their menu isn’t as sophisticated, it was all delicious and served hot. Salishan perhaps should get back to basics with their food and focus on good quality served hot, as opposed to a more sophisticated menu that isn’t executed overly well. We were glad the dining room is back open though!
We didn't need a reservation, we were the only ones in the dining room. I treated my daughter for her birthday dinner celebration. After reading the ENTIRE menu, she said what she'd really like was linguine and clams. I told her we were at a restaurant where they have a chef and that they'd make whatever she liked. And they DID! She said it was the BEST dish, of that kind, she'd EVER eaten! She then asked for bread; it arrived about 25 minutes later, which was fine with us. It turned out the chef didn't have just any old bread, he (or she) made her a foccacia in its own little cast iron skillet, with special chives butter! She LOVED it. Then, because I'd check the "birthday" box when making the reservation, the very attentive waiter offered her any dessert from the menu, as a birthday gift. She chose something like hazelnut donut holes, with special sauces...and LOVED that, too! The meal was quite reasonably priced, especially for all of our special orders! The dining room was quiet, and just the right temperature, next to the large windows. We felt very special having the entire place to ourselves, and were very satisfied with our experience. THANK YOU!
Service was not good for a resort type setting. Waitress did not come back for water or drink refills. Food took over an hour to reach our table and filet mignon was tough to cut.
This is the second year we’ve eaten here. The food is really mediocre yet excessively expensive. Pork Belly appetizer was grim. Desert was tragic, maybe the worst we ever had. Not going back!
Wine list is to big for anyone to present properly. Wait staff doesn’t know enough about the wines. Suggested wines were overly cold to the touch.
Decor seems dated.
Service was quite personable!
Lovely serene setting looking out into green woods; dinner special, venison, was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Wine list featuring Oregon wines is ample and nicely matched to food choices. Quiet atmosphere allows conversation; service is friendly and professional. We had dinner two nights in a row because we enjoyed the ambiance and food so much.
We made reservations for my sisters 50th bday. We had eight of us in our party. Our food was amazing the service was entertaining with multiple servers bringing our all out food at the same time.
We've been so Salishan many times, and we were very excited about their new chef/menu. It took more than 45 minutes for our hors d'oeuvre to arrive (we ordered the artichoke), the flavor was amazing, however there was no meat whatsoever on the small sized artichoke. It took an additional 45 minutes for our dinner to arrive, only to have the rack of lamb arrive room temperature. Very disappointing. The clam linguine had amazing flavor, however, it was very cumbersome to eat as the pasta is piled in with the clam shells, and you have to laboriously fork out the individual clams from the shells. After inquiring at about an hour and half into our wait, the waitress (who seemed sheepish about check in with us), said that there was a table of 20, and only one kitchen (and I'm assuming their orders were put in before ours?). I wish she would have been up front with us when we checked in with her the first time. Amazing flavor to the dishes, but no sense of time and an awkward/cumbersome texture issue with all of the dishes we ate. Would not recommend.
Wonderful. Romantic 21st anniversary celebration. Delicious meal beautiful presentation. So happy to have Harvest at Salishan. Will return soon.
My meal was outstanding the only negative thing I can think of was my husband didn't have enough truffles to share. My lemon curd torte and Basil ice cream was excellent.
The food was excellent and will definitely prompt a return trip. The only downfall of the whole experience was that there seemed to be not enough servers for the amount of people. We rarely saw our server or any employee for that matter. After we finished appetizers and entrees we were not offered dessert and had to ask for the menu showing the dessert courses. (The dessert was absolutely amazing so that was worth it.) We sat and waited over 20 minutes to be able to pay and leave after dessert. We almost got up to find the server because we were unsure if our check was even going to get dropped at our table. It kind of soured the experience for us as we were very tired from travel and food and were ready to leave and get some rest.
Sadly we had the dining room completely to ourselves. But the service was pretty much second to none. We were greeted very pleasantly by the hostess, and shown our seats by a window with a nice view. Our waiter was very attentive during our time at the restaurant. I had the rack of venison which I HIGHLY recommend - it was cooked to perfection! My wife had the salmon, and based on the bite she reluctantly shared, it too was excellent. Moe kept our water glasses full. Overall a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service, great food! Attentive, timely and exquisite flavor. Truly enjoyed the whole dining experience.
Need white linen table cloths for that level of dining experience
Not impressed. Food wasn’t hot and service was just ok. Expensive.
The service , receptionist and all servers were helpful and non intrusive.
The experience was kind of surreal. Employees being spoken to by superiors negatively in front of us. Our waters were refilled every 2 minutes totaling over 20 times. There were cherries on everything (in the butter even) just overall weird experience and not very tasty.
The dining room at salashan was a great experience. The wine list is very good. We started with the house made burrata and stone fruit flavors were amazing. The main dish was lamb, broccolini, potato, it was all cooked to perfection.
We ended with the cheese plate which had a very good selection of cheese. We will definitely be back my only complaint is that it’s only open on the weekends.
Fantastic meal in a great location! Will be returning in our next trip!
Great place for nice evening out with significant other.
We had an early dinner last evening (6pm on a Friday) and I want to compliment our waitress, she was just lovely. Her descriptions of the meals and their condiments such as the homemade ricotta with huckleberry mustard on crostini was spot on and welcome, and she was professional as well as welcoming and gracious (the waiter who served other tables was not as accurate in his descriptions, we were fortunate--if he had been as accurate I would have rated 5 instead of 4). Between her and our hostess our water glasses were kept filled, always appreciated. They were on it lowering the shades when it got in some diner's eyes, they paid attention to detail.
The food was delicious and perfectly cooked to our various requests, our compliments to the kitchen.
Slightly upscale dress seems to be recommended on the website, but there were a variety of outfit choices, I don't think anyone would be looked down upon for casual dress.
There were starters (soups, salads) for vegetarians, but I don't believe there was a main course option. This is fine dining, expect to pay for what you're getting; starters were $11+, main course $32+, dessert $9+.
Best restaurant we’ve been so far in Oregon. Great service and all the entrees we ordered are delish especially the lambs and steak. The bread, butter and teas in house were superb as well. We had truffles treats that we all enjoyed.
Extremely over priced, mediocre food. We felt like we were bamboozled...
Amazing staff, great service. Food and drinks were unbeatable anywhere on the Oregon Coast. Will be back.
We had a lovely evening celebrating our wedding anniversary. We had mentioned it upon making the reservation and it was certainly acknowledged by the staff! Both our waiter and Lori, the maitre d were excellent.
We had received $100.00 gift card so decided this was our opportunity to have a special dinner without breaking the budget--which we did any way. The staff was very pleasant and helpful in answering any questions about the items on the menu and available wine. However there had been some changes in the menu from what we had seen on line and from the menu we had been given when we were seated. Apparently the chef had made some changes and the up-dated menu was just being printed. It all worked out OK, food and service was excellent, I just felt it made it a little awkward for the staff to not be informed earlier.
I brought my wife here for Valentine's Day, and she wanted to come here again for Mother's Day. Great place!
The staff were very kind and curteous. The waiter was very knowledgable about the menu. Truly what I was expecting of fine dining.
Food was cold. Requested the Prime Rid. Served totally "blackened". Disappointing. Expectations do not match reality for the restaurant.
We had a group of 6 to dinner after the conference was over. Originally it was to be 10. We had to change the day before and the hostess and staff were very accommodating. I can not say enough about Eric our waiter. What a nice man, great waiter, recommended fabulous wines and the dinners were outstanding. Please do not miss the scallops - they are fabulous!
Our waiter knew next to nothing about the food he was serving even though he has worked there off and on for 40 years. He mis-pronounced delicata squash (an Oregon favorite), called a broiled rack of lamb a rib chop and described an English pea agnolotti with several other ingredients simply as "pasta ". The cocktail service was incredibly slow. In spite of this we will certainly come back to this beautiful resort and request a different server.
Very elegant dining experience but did not feel underdressed in casual attire
Thank you rickp for the fantastic review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your experience. The Dining Room at The Salishan has not been open for more than a year, so to get your wonderful feedback feels great. Conor Mahaney Food & Beverage Manager
The short rib was amazing. The polenta and brussel sprouts were delicious. The wine selection was excellent. The ambiance was refined but comfortable.
I stayed at Salishan so I made a reservation for dinner. It was my one night splurge & definitely worth it! I started with dessert - the chocolate mousse bomb, wow! Then I had my main course, the NY steak & it was delicious. Service was amazing as well. I can’t wait to travel down the coast & go there again. Great experience!
Small but exquisite portions and attentive staff add to the ambiance of this delicious restaurant.
We had a perfect evening! Thank you - it was lovely! We'll be back soon.
Cancel your other dinner plans and go to the Dining Room at Salishan. Tonight (Valentine’s Day) was their opening night, and my wife and I checked the place out. Wow! Elegant and rustic interior, and stunning forest view. Every course was delicious; the chef is an artist. The menu included variety for everyone’s taste. Beautiful presentation of every course, every plate, every bowl. Over-the-top service from a well-trained, fully engaged staff. Salishan just raised the bar for fine dining in Lincoln City.
