The Diner has an expansive menu so there will be something for everyone. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and responsive to the guests needs. I highly recommend The Diner.
Family dinner for eight of us at The Diner was outstanding! Adults and children enjoyed the meal which was excellent (I really enjoyed the pot roast dinner). Louie did a great job serving us. We had a great evening at the Diner!
We were 30 minutes early and The Diner had our table ready with no issues. Great spot to see Nashville skyline and good food too!
Neat corner spot 6 floors. Top floor nice bar are w views
not super impressed with the food we went for thanksgiving dinner $37 for a steak serviced w a bowl of dry mashed my husband had salmon found two hairs in it. Defiantly a good spot for breakfast late nite snack or drink but a lot better options if you’re looking for a nice dinner
Passing through and was recommended by a friend. We’ll be back!
The restaurant was empty yet we were seated next to the entrance to the kitchen. I realize they want to spread out the wait staff but early birds with reservations should get the best seats. Otherwise it was a great experience.
I have been to The Diner 4 or 5 times now and this experience was my least favorite. The service was good, restaurant clean, people were nice. It was the food! I had the BBQ chicken sandwich, as did my daughter and the chicken was dry and tough! We got a piecew of cake on our way out (cookies n cream cake), it also was very dry. In terms of quality of food, this visit was very disappointing.
Had reservations for five this past Sunday. My mother, daughter and one of my sisters was visiting from out of town. We were promptly greeted and taken to our table. The service was excellent as was the food. My relatives were very pleased and I will definately return!
It was ok. Great for groups, but a little pricey and not as much bang for your buck. Service was great though
We are locals in Nashville and go there quite a bit when we go downtown for events. We typically love it. This visit was a Saturday night and they have a different, abbreviated menu for those days of the week.
Very average selection, decent food but not nearly as good as during the week. We were pretty disappointed at the selection.
Convenient downtown eatery. Food good but not outstanding. Service on this occasion was good.
We waited quite a while before anyone came to our table and that was only because I flagged someone down. The cocktails we ordered were not correct and I was disappointed to see the menu shrunk a lot since the last time I was there. We had to ask numerous times for water refills and dressing and the terrible part was I was taking friends here for the first time and talked up what a great place it was...I guarantee none of them will ne repeat guests
Always love the Diner . They r nice , efficient , food is always good and great location
Great food and great service from Tiara!
Went to Diner before Preds game. We had heard so-so reviews but were pleasantly surprised. My salmon was delicious and my wife had rattlesnake pasta which she thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back. (We were on the 5th floor.
Food was nothing spectacular- service was slow. Had the oysters Rockefeller- some were raw, others were very overcooked.
Overpriced for the quality of food. Example, $12 spinach dip that was just gross. Removed several good items
Took forever to get our food
This place is awful. The server forgot to put our appetizers in, then they came out cold and he forgot one. Our entrees were ok. When we were finally ready for checks, it took 30 minutes for the server to give us the checks. We were sat for dinner at 7:45 and didn’t get out of there until almost 10pm!
We now make the diner our regular pre-Symphony meal. The servers, especially Larry, are attentive and top-notch. Also, we appreciate their variety of menu options both for food as well as beverages and desserts!
Food was pretty good - our problem was our server. This is a little thing that’s a big thing, but my son wanted an item that was on the regular menu and on the “$15 business lunch” menu - which included a salad and desert. Great deal. Ordered as a stand-alone entree, the item was $22. Our server didn’t point that out when ordering - I had to call her on it. I just thought that was lousy. The restaurant also isn’t flexible with substitutions. Another little thing that’s a big thing. I ordered an omelet and wanted to sub bacon for the home fries. They wouldn’t do it - offered to add bacon ($6) but I declined. Great location and could have been a really cool experience, but the service turned us off. Too many other places to try - no need to go back.
Chicken and waffles are a must!! French onion soup was perfect for a fall day!
The Diner is delightfully unique in that it encompasses six floors on the corner downtown. I had breakfast on the first floor, drinks on the 6th floor, and dinner on the fourth floor. Each meal was delicious, served perfectly prepared and at the peak of freshness. The staff was excellent. Overall a top-notch experience!
We went to The Diner on a Wednesday evening. There were very few customers present. We were promptly seated on the fourth floor where one other table was occupied. The server came out and took our order, but then things went downhill. My wife ordered an RC Cola that never arrived. I tried to order a breakfast item, but was told breakfast isn't served between 3pm and 11pm - a stated policy of the restaurant but still an odd practice for a "diner". My real disappointment came when I was instead offered "the special", a steak with three shrimp and a mushroom sauce. The waitress failed to mention that this dish cost $50! This is far more than the breakfast item I was looking at and much more than any other item on the menu. Needless to say, I was very surprised when I received the bill. I'm not normally one to complain and I understand that things like forgetting a drink happen. However, in a nearly empty restaurant to not mention that the special was so expensive seems ridiculous to me. I won't be going back and wouldn't recommend it.
Was excited to try this place, mainly for the view as I've heard mixed reviews. The menu had a variety so I figured it offered everyone options. Making a reservation for the 6th floor is unclear. Had a drink up there, but were told our reservation was for 5th floor. Nobody came to our table and had to flag down the hostess to get service. We wanted oysters and were able to get them even though they aren't offered on the menu for the 5th floor. We tried to order a beer, but they don't have draft ont he 5th floor. We were given a complementary appetizer for our wait + another one (boom boom shrimp & calamari) - both seemed like something I could have popped from my freezer. Not good. Oysters were decent. We all ordered the Shrimp & Grits, pretty good. Overall, NOT worth the money. Had much hire hopes.
The server was attentive, helpful & friendly and seemed well versed on the menu. I had the Salmon & added shrimp & mushrooms and loved it.
Food and staff were good. Mimosa could use some work. Was very flat.
Brunch with coworkers after the breast cancer walk.
Hosted 10 of us. Food was great, we all liked our food and it was really close to downtown.
The entree was very good but the house salad was not special. The entree came out before we had time to eat our salad—too quickly. The venue is very convenient for symphony productions.
Service was horrible!
Was surprised that the menu has fewer choices. Overall we have enjoyed The Diner several times and look forward to dining there again.
Our wait staff person was young and seemed a little jumpy, but did a good job taking care of us. We will go back to the Diner and would be happy to have him tak e care of us again.
I love the concept of the diner and how it’s different on each level. I do find it funny that you cannot get certain beers on the 4th level though. This seems like it would be an easy fix. Overall, my experience was wonderful- great atmosphere and great server!
Convenient, quick and tasty. Our only disappointment was that the beers we wanted were either not available on our floor or out of stock.
Horrible! Reservations and had to leave restaurant without my meal. We had a show at a certain time and after waiting an hour to eat, with little to no explanation, we left hungry. It shouldn’t be that difficult to get a salad.
We arrived early for our reservations and were seated right away. It was very loud is the restaurant and hard to have a conversation without yelling. We waited for 15 minutes before being acknowledged by our server, another 15 minutes to get a glass of wine and order food, and 50 minutes to get our meal. Our meals arrived luke warm at best. Not the best meal experience overall.
There are many options for a great breakfast in downtown Nashville. Unfortunately, neither the menu nor the ambience was good enough to draw me back for a second visit.
Will was our server and he did a great job at not only answering our questions about the menu, but also Downtown Nashville. This was my first time visiting Nashville as well as eating at The Diner which was recommended by my parents. I will be back.
Nothing special but convenient to the Omni Hotel is the Diner's strongest attribute.
