   Good food, service and atmosphere. Friendly staff. Would recommend for eating after a day walking (or just for a nice meal).

   A friendly welcome team but the service was very slow. Food was ok but the portions were very small. Won’t rush back.

   In Hartington for the second time this year and The Devonshire arms too: was delighted again. Great food and atmosphere + a lovely call back to seaside treats by having warm doughnut ice cream. Looking forward to next time. 😀

   Had beef Sunday dinner. The beef was so tough. Tried 2 different knives but simply couldn’t cut it. My partners was the same. A shame as the rest of the meal was lovely. Unfortunately no one came to ask us how the meal was. I left all of my beef and my partner left most of his. We left very disappointed.

   The service from staff was extremely good, I had a view into the kitchen through the glass door, and the staff were non stop. Orders were coming out very quick, which was impressive. Waiting staff were very courteous, and the uniforms they wore were very professional. I would personally recommend this venue to others,,the prices were reasonable in regards to a location that is renowned to be very touristy. I was in a party of three celebrating my wife’s birthday. Our meals were very enjoyable, but my wife’s meal we noticed had a covering of sea salt of the plate, it did mar the meal but not to the extent that we would have sent it back,,,the salt was just scraped to the side of the plate,,,(someone putting on seasoning salt and forgot to take the top off the grinder) as I have done before. Thank you for your service and to your hard working kitchen staff and serving staff,,they were in and out with orders ensuring that customers were not waiting for their orders.

   The vegetarian choice was good, food excellent very hot, plenty of it and the service was lovely. The meat option was also very good. So nice to have really hot food. We had a sharing pudding which was ample and very delicious. The service was wonderful. I had a very nice glass of wine. The atmosphere is very nice and the noise level was perfect.

    Very tasty food, we had prawn cocktails, lasagne, ham hock and chicken pie, crumble and sticky toffee. All freshly cooked and good sized portions. Cosy dining area with log fire. You order at the bar but this means you don't feel rushed
