Garlic Cheese Bread

Good steak. Cooked exactly as ordered. The Old Fashioned was meh, but at least they brought it out quickly. Very good and fast service. Enjoyed it, will probably be back a few times a year to try the rest of the menu.
It was wonderful having dinner with old friends. The Derby is a delightful place.
Especially your staff, they are delightful.
Still one of my favorite places for dinner. Took a group of friends for their first time, they loved it! Thanks Derby.
Excellent food and our server was awesome! A little too noisy!
Well, we went there for dinner to celebrate Mom's birthday. It was very slow since it was mid-week. I did notify the restaurant about the occasion and they had a small note on the table that read "Happy Birthday". There were 3 of us and the bill came up to approx. $250. We did complain about the fries. They tasted very greasy. My Mom exchanged for something else, my son just had a couple and left most. Mentioned to waiter and she said 'ok will let them know'. The waiter asked if we wanted dessert. I told her that it was my Mom's birthday and she ok. She asked what dessert and she brought the dessert with a candle. We then thought, well, that's very nice. Then we got the bill and they charged for the dessert. I don't understand....their food is not cheap. We paid a good penny for it and expected for them to bring my Mom at least ice-cream without charge. We got charged for the dessert and probably for the candle as well!
Barbara was our server and and was wonderful!! Food was excellent- all we had hoped for
Birthday - food is great, under staffed (understandable) but they made everything so nice
The food was delicious. Even though it’s a steak house, wish it did offer more vegetarian options than just 1 pasta and some sides. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating if possible. Love that for our anniversary they gave us a baked Alaska. So much fun
We enjoyed our evening at the Derby. The service, our server, was exceptional. She made our evening special. The Derby food never disappoints.
Always wanted to try the Derby. Finally made it there for dinner. Old time steakhouse feel to it. We each choose the three choice dinner and desert. French onion soup was wonderful. My ribeye bone in was just ok. Cooked perfectly, but very, very fatty, so once you took the fat away was a very small portion size. Would not get again. My daughter had the stuffed salmon and said it was very good. Dessert was ok. Service was not very good. Not sure if they were short staffed. Our waitress took forever to take our order, food was delivered by someone else, and then our waitress was MIA. Strange because we say all the other wait staff at the tables around us, but our waitress was always no where to be found. I would try it again maybe for lunch.
We were seated promptly and were glad to be able to sit outside. Our server (Martha) was fun and helpful and ready to accommodate our requests. The food was delicious and we were not rushed. Very good experience. LOVE all of the racing memorabilia.
1 year anniversary! Every employee wished us a happy day!
The entire evening was wonderful. Great waitstaff, amazing food, and reasonably priced.
We had a wonderful meal, celebrating 2 birthdays. The food, service and overall experience was outstanding. Due to Covid, it had been a while since we had been to The Derby. It was so nice to see it was just as great as we remembered. We will be back!
Steak was the best ever! Loved our server. Whole staff worked together well. Lovely experience!
Great time there. A bit busy but we had great service and wonderful baked Alaska for birthday celebration. Christopher was our server and did a great job.
For $150 for Two dinners and two drinks, The fish that I ordered was smaller than my baked potato which was cold the vegetables were cold Even the fish was cold why would I recommend this place to anybody I don’t understand
This was our first time at the Derby and not our last. The service was outstanding the services Josh excellent and the person that kept our water full was also excellent. The menu was great. Thank you
Very nice menu selection. Bar tender knows how to make a great drink. The server was efficient, not pushy and knowledgeable about the offerings. Definitely recommend and we're going back soon.
Service was wonderful. Our server did a great job with timing of our meals for a party of 6.
We ordered the lamb and it was super tough. Could not eat. Told waitress and the cook agreed and took off our bill
Good place for a nice evening with group or partner. Food is a little pricey for the quality.
We always have the best time there! Excellent food, wine and service.
Bacon wrapped Filet, Iceberg Blue Cheese Wedge, Brussel Sprouts are my favorite. Baked Alaska is a great dessert.
A nice reunion with friends from New York was made possible by a great booth, good server and fine food. Just a perfect evening. Place was full and somewhat noisy but we were able to hear each other and that was good.
Our favorite place for prime rib or anything else on the menu.
5 stars for everything.

Really the only main issue we had with The Derby was how long it took to get our food. Which we don’t necessarily blame on our actual waiter. We had just come from the Rose Bowl and were exhausted, and it took over an hour to get our entrees to the table. Thankfully the food was good.
I always enjoyed coming here to celebrate an occasion. This time it was for my son and girlfriend anniversary. The food was delicious, worth the price. But the service was not there- the waiter tried to impress us with his memory in taking our order but failed. He had to come back to verify two of our orders which he still got it wrong. We asked for extra bread to go with our meal and he never brought to us. Then he insisted to tell us the dessert menu by memory instead giving the actual menu. We couldn’t take the chance on another incorrect order.
My husband and I came here for dinner on New Year’s Day and it was wonderful. I had the prime rib and he had the bone-in sirloin steak, both of which were excellent, with good sides. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. Valet parking only is complimentary, but we gave $5 for a tip. A very nice equestrian-themed restaurant if you are looking for a good dinner.
New Year’s Eve
Everything was beautiful and the food was excellent. The servers worked diligently but the understaffing was obvious. We understand that its not the fault of the restaurant. People don't want to work.
Fun night!! The environment was so beautiful ❤️ food and service amazing!! Will certainly come back again soon!
Upon entry, the restaurant had a festive, New Year's Eve air. The service was friendly and engaged at the beginning and then, about halfway through the meal, seemed to lose track of our table. A reminder to the waiter about a long-forgotten order for a glass of wine, was met with a surprisingly curt response. The cocktails and salads were fine. The scampi were very good, but the salmon was overcooked. The check was on the high side, but reasonable for a celebratory holiday dinner.
New Year’s Eve
Food was very good. Did not like sitting outdoor under a tent wit a strong smell of propane.
Jose was our server, very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was very good, as always! We enjoy the Derby, never disappoints !!
It was a lovely evening. All good. Iconic steakhouse. Well worth a visit.
We have been going to the Derby for about 20 years. Good food, Good Service. Overall a very good restaurant.
The steak is really good
I live in Arcadia but first time try I definitely recommend to anyone
We had a great time, enjoyed the food ( ordered crab cake, shrimp cocktail for appetizers; surf cheesecake and bread pudding. We went for Triple Crown 3- course meal and happy with our choices…crab cake very good, filet mignon & shrimp are tender & succulent, and prime rib tender & juicy. Only minor complaint …the appetizers & dessert portion are very small.
