The restaurant itself has been upgraded from prior years. Nice to see the improvements in the interior of the restaurant. The menu has been significantly slimmed down, perhaps a bit too much in my opinion. I had the gnocchi and my wife had the salmon special. We also shared a pizza. The gnocchi was very good, cooked perfectly. My only complaint was they were a bit stingy on the amount of sauce. The pizza was also good, although, once again, a bit lite on the sauce and cheese. My wife enjoyed her Salmon. The wine list tends toward the high end, very limited on medium priced wines. But yet, the wines are all very young. We ordered what was listed as a 2020 wine (one of the older wines on the menu), but we received a 2021 wine. I suspect this is because the restaurant only recently re-opened, but still, the wine list is disappointing and overpriced.

Wonderful pasta dishes and the Cioppino special was delicious. We sat inside on a cool rainy night, with big windows overlooking the garden, pool and outdoor fireplace.

The setting was excellent. Front desk was excellent , all wait staff was excellent except for our Server was terrible, he appeared to be selling up, Then we chose something simple, he appeared less interested in us. We were enjoying the oysters and all of sudden our ravioli main course was on the table and cold. Terribly disappointing for such an upscale restaurant.

I was very pleased with our dinner at the Depot. Everything was exceptional. I had the Rigatoni; my wife had the scallops. Both were excellent. We split the special pasta appetizer. Overall, food, service & the atmosphere (in the Garden Room) were great.

My wife and I have been here several times with the old owners. The new owners have spruced it up a bit. The Italian-style food was good and portions were large enough to split. It was very nice that they did not charge extra for splitting the portions. We will be back.

Our experience at The Depot was fabulous! The atmosphere is charming, Tuscan sophistication with warm Sonoma hosts. The food was some of the best we have had in Sonoma. The gnocchi had a crisp outer and fluffy inside which surpassed all other variations I’ve eaten. Pasta Carbonara was deliciously spicy and not too rich. Such a find! Our evening exceeded expectations!

The moment we walked in I instantly felt warm and at home. The atmosphere is elegant without being pretentious and the food was truly some of the best food I’ve ever had. Everything was 5 star but the in-house hand-pulled mozzarella and bread were phenomenal. The service was friendly and courteous. I can’t wait to eat there again!

When we drove in from an hour away, we found out the restaurant was CLOSED! Why are they still taking reservations? Been there several times before & liked it….very disappointed with the lack of professionalism…..not fun to figured out a new place to eat at the last minute…..

The restaurant was closed, even though we had a reservation!! We had to scramble to find another place to dine in Sonoma on a Saturday night. I used to LOVE Depot Hotel, but since the ownership changed, it has gone downhill. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

After making our reservation at the DEPOT HOTEL RESTAURANT in Sonoma, and receiving a Confirmation and follow up email to Confirm we were coming, we and our guests from out of town arrived on time for our dinner reservation only to find the restaurant locked up. We later learned that the DEPOT HOTEL RESTAURANT went out of business during COVID! WHY DOESN’T OPENTABLE KNOW THIS? We were very disappointed!

My husband and I both had the shellfish with pasta dish, which was fresh and delicious--with just the right amount of heat from the calabrian chilis. The pizza with brie, arugula and prosciutto was great too.

Christmas lunch with best friend and our mutual CFP. Sat outdoors in covered area with heater above us! Everything ordered exactly what the wanted and it was all delicious!! Service was excellent, Erica met our every need. Always a treat to eat at the Depot.

They asked if we wanted to sit outside and it was way too cool outside. They did not have a table inside so we had no other option. They had one glass of the wine we ordered and said they were getting more within about 10 minutes so we waited and waited. No one came back to get a different wine order or anything else. I had to walk into the bar twice to ask for a server and a refill of wine. The food was tasty. The server assistant was fantastic and we were very pleased with her but don’t waste your time or money on this place.

The lunch hours posted on the building say 11 am. We had an 11:30 lunch reservation, arrived a few minutes early, and the door was locked and the sign in the window said closed! We had to call from their doorstep; they eventually opened to let us in. Tried to order a drink, but they apparently have just beer and wine now. To summarize the rest of lunch, service was ridiculously slow and erratic and the food was just ok. We never got to order after lunch coffee and finally just flagged the manager down for the check.Hope they figure things out because the setting is really lovely, but this was a definite disappointment and completely unlike previous meals there. Perhaps the ownership change has impacted this restaurant.

We made early reservations almost 2 months in advance. We saw the menu, Italian Fare, but O K, and the prices were reasonable. We were never given the regular menu, only a Thanksgiving Menu. Their regular Menu had offered Items we were prepared to order, entree and soup or salad around $35-$40 each, which was fine by us. When we arrived we were given only a Thanksgiving Menu with no prices on it, and no warning given by our waitress. I had salad (no big deal), Osso Bucco, and they probably bought it from a market at the last minute pumpkin pie. My wife had bean soup, eggplant lasagna, and a tiramisu. I had a beer. There was nothing fancy about this restaurant, no fine linen, no fine cutlery, and no fine service, and I have dined at many wonderful Restaurants in the Napa/Sonoma area (Mustards, Brix, Rutherford Grill, Bouchon, etc.). The food was not memorable, and aside from simply bringing us our food, nothing extra to the service (it was no better than Denny’s type service). The waitress out of common courtesy and decency should have told us that we were about to be gouged (seriously overpriced prices for mediocre food, and we were unsuspecting victims). Their regular menu prices didn’t come anywhere close to what we were unsuspectantly charged. $206.69- wow nothing less than gouging at the highest level, like they were desperate for money! I should have known because there weren’t that many people in the restaurant ( probably old time customers and others that were kept in the dark like my wife and I). To add injury to insult they added a mandatory 20% Tip calling it a Special Event! I would call it a “Special Rip-Off Event”! I come to Napa/Sonoma every year, and this awful experience has truly dampened my enthusiasm. I understand the owner and cook are new, having recently purchased the Hotel and Restaurant. That may explain the greed to rip off customers, both old and new! God strike me dead if I should ever step foot onto that property! You should be ashamed!

Thanksgiving dinner was fantastic from start to finish. Three course holiday menu for $75.Ribolitta soup, old fashioned Turkey dinner with stuffing, root vegetables and home made hot gravy. Pumpkin pie topped it off. Gorgeous setting overlooking pool area in a Tuscan Farm house from 1870.

Salad was all lettuce, little blue cheese and "litteler" apples so thinly sliced that the New York Times could be clearly read through them The restaurant can "stuff" the stuffing - awful stuff! Turkey, generously sliced from a a baked, formed breast was , surprisingly, flavorable Mashed potatoes and gray were lackluster (bland tasting) Vegetables were perfectly prepared - al dente!
