Nestled lakeside on the glacier-fed Nita Lake, by the foot of Mt.Sproatt in Whistler. The Den Celebrates the wilderness around us. We create our seasonal dishes with local farm-to-table product, artisan meats + cheeses and our garden grown herbs + greens with a strong emphasis on plant-based alternatives.

Food was fantastic! Julianna’s service was excellent!! And the view of Nita Lake was lovely. To begin, I ordered the kale salad starter. It had a little bit of a smoky taste. My husband ordered the heirloom tomato appetizer. We shared half-and-half and the tomatoes seem to enhance the taste of the kale salad. They were perfect together. Then we each had the salmon entrée. That came with charred leaks. I thought charred leaks would be a strange side, but they were incredible!! Last, we shared the sticky pudding for dessert, which was also good, just not very sticky.

The food is fabulous! Three of us had the Longline Sablefish with dill spetzle while my DIL had the Rossdown chicken breast. Both meals were prepared and plated beautifully. If there was any issue at all, it was the brief delays between delivery of the various meals. I will happily dine there again!

Lovely setting and received a warm welcome upon arrival. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing and generally there was no effort made to create a repore with our party. It was quiet in the restaurant so don’t believe it was due to anyone being overwhelmed. We weren’t asked for further beverages, coffee, tea or other for dessert. Food for the most part was good however a few items were cold but the majority of our group enjoyed there meals. We left without any appreciation for us choosing this restaurant and unfortunately will not recommend.

I had my second weird experience at the Den at Nita Lake Lodge and felt compelled to review. Made a reservation a week in advance. Arrived to an empty restaurant, and was seated, not at one of several empty table enjoying the spectacular lake and mountain views but at the first table inside the transitioning restaurant/ lobby area so we could enjoy the I guess the ambience of people walking by? We asked if we could have a table with views to the lake. This resulted in an awkward standing in the middle of the restaurant while our host asked someone in the kitchen if it was ok for us to be seated in an empty table with views. This ultimately led to us being seated. By the end of our evening we remained the only group seated at a window seat in an otherwise sparsely populated room- ie our request did not displace other guests with reservations who might have been more important. Food was very good, and our server excellent- very sweet and professional. The previous time unfortunately was similar where we arrived to an empty restaurant without a reservation and were told we could not be accommodated without a reservation- which we were additionally told we couldn't do in person and had to do online. Right out of Twilight Zone. We left. The setting, food and restaurant servers are all great in our experiences. I'll probably go again at some point but I'd go more regularly if they acted like they appreciated my business, as opposed to feeling like we were somehow disrupting their plans.
