   Terrible service not just by our server but every table seemed to have complaints. Server checked on my table 1 time and that was to take our order after sitting there for 20 minutes, never came back to the table except when I flagged her down. Table next to ours had a different server and same issue. Luckily my table’s food came correct (not delicious but correct) whereas the table next to ours was all wrong. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Not even worth the cheap Restaurant Week deal.

   The food and drinks were good but the service and experience was okay. We tried for the first time and was hoping for a better experience for our first DC restaurant week. It didn’t seem that the staff were prepared for the holiday and setting. It didn’t seem busy but the server said apologized for being delayed and distant, so we made do.

   We stood at the host stand for 10 minutes. No one ever came to seat us, despite multiple employees seeing us standing there and ignoring us, so we left.

   Fantastic meal! The shrimp and grits were divine. Plus, the live jazz band was an added touch of class. The chef greeted us personally and sent us home with two delectable cinnamon rolls that we ordered to go, which was tremendous. This DC Bruncher will definitely be back!

    Lunch took an hour and 40 for a scramble, salad, and sandwich. Food lacked flavor. The service was terrible. Had to ask for drink refills at the bar several times. Coffee was cold before they brought creamer. All around mistake to have chosen here to eat.

    Very disappointed. Had to wait 15 minutes to be seated even though the place was nearly empty. Servers were busy dancing to a DJ vs checking in on customers. The burger was bland. No one even asked to see how we wanted the burger fixed. Well done or rare??? The fried green tomatoes were hard and over cooked. No flavor. Too scared to order anything higher $15 for fear of being disappointed again.

    There was no server or hostess when we arrived and it took almost 20 minutes for them to emerge. The bartender was present and friendly, but it didn't seem to bother him that guests has seated themselves without a server. When prompted he said he'd check in on the server/hostess, but of course, he'd continue to have his conversation with another patron for another 5 minutes before lifting his finger. Once the server did emerge, they were friendly and provided a good quality of service. The food was decent.

    The fish and grits w/ fried tomatoes should require a change. The grits were way to thick, and not seasoned. I had more fried tomatoes then I had catfish filets. The presentation wasn’t the best. I had a broken piece of catfish fillet, and the way it was plated was if the Chef said here’s a extra lil piece throw it on there. I’m not sure. The sauce which was probably a Thai sauce was the only thing that saved the food. I’ll give it a 6/10. The Mojito drink was great. I believe my bartender name was Dre. He was very attentive.

    Over promised and then under delivered. Olives described as with herbs, lemon zest, and benne seeds were just plain olives. The watermelon, tomato and feta salad looked nothing like the picture.

    Delegate = delegate work to patron! Had to order via phone vs server. Issue was that App is very frustrating and only allows 20 characters to put in customization request which is insufficient. We requested just to be able to place order with server but it wasn’t an option. So we got up and left. Food is much too expensive for such poor service model. View was so so and not enough dining umbrellas.

    I was especially excited to try The Delegate specifically because the food was provided by a local favorite, Milk & Honey. Unfortunately, the experience was more than underwhelming. Outside of the service exceeding its capacity, not everyone was unable to enjoy their dish. The chicken for the chicken and waffles was not cooked thoroughly which was discovered upon first bite for one, and made another person sick. The bar staff are significantly overwhelmed, as their lack of attention to detail was noticeable when a guest received a drink with a hair adorning their glass. Three days after our venture to the restaurant, it was discovered that the waiter placed the entire bill on one person’s credit card instead of splitting the bill evenly as requested. If there are any bright lights to this venture, our party did enjoy the crab hash and the L Street Scramble. The service industry has its challenges at the moment. However, that should never affect a staff’s ability to prepare food thoroughly and create an experience for locals and out of towners to remember.

    Limited time for business luncheon, so reserved well in advance. Arrived 5 min ahead of time reserved. Had to wait extra 20 min for our reserved table, even though party size had been reduced from 6 to 4. No idea what would have been done had all six of us made it, since there were only two tables with six places and neither was available entire time we were there. Also, no outdoor dining option as advertised which was a major requirement for us, so that was very disappointing to find upon arrival.

    We sat in the bar area vs the restaurant. Salmon salad was a perfect lunch entree. Although table service was a bit slow for a business luncheon, our server was extremely polite and friendly.

    Had a dinner 8:30-ish on a Sunday evening. This restaurant is adjacent to the main hotel lobby and doesn’t really have a clearly established “front” in which you check in. This becomes problematic as once you take a seat (either assigned or self-seating) it isn’t clear who your server is supposed to be. Other than the server issues, it’s a pretty standard hotel lobby bar/restaurant; nothing very remarkable. Unfortunately, this is DC and the competition is pretty stiff.

    Great brunch menu on a Sunday with the Milk and Honey selections. Service was fast and friendly, food was tasty. Be sure to try the Rumchata French Toast!

    I was at the Delegate for lunch on a Saturday. They have a DJ , and the music was so loud that my colleague and I had to shout to hear each other. Fortunately, the DJ did turn down the volume after we requested it. The food was okay, but nothing special.

    A crab cake benedict sandwich should be with poached eggs, not fried. The two crab cakes, both thin, crispy, and small could hardly be called jumbo as they barely covered half an English muffin which, itself, was soggy and untoasted. The sauce which should have covered the sandwich was barely visible, had no spinach that I could see and no Cajun flavor to it. A big disappointment

    The cheesy eggs are literally just cheese on top, not melted or anything. The grits with the shrimp & grits were terribly over cooked and clumpy. The mimosas were great though.

    Waitress ignored us. Finally tracked her down after 15 minutes. Rude and dismissive. Coffee was served cold. Informed her…20 minutes later got a warm (not hot cup). Food never showed up until 45 minutes later when bartender went back to see what was going on. Good had been sitting there for a long long time - and was now cold. Bartender comped meal.
