The Del-Bar Ratings and Reviews
Sat in the bar area because we enjoy ourselves more in that atmosphere. Server was amazing, asked our first names as we ordered and remembered them throughout our experience. Very happy with the traditional Supper Club fare. Just the evening we were looking for.
A great experience on New Years Eve with friends and family. There were 10 of us and the service was great and the food was delicious. Our servers Jerry and Renee were outstanding. The host did a wonderful job of getting us seated quickly on a very busy night. This is a great place we dine at when we are in the area.
Spent 15 years working in the Dells until the early 2000s and Jimmy's was the place to go to celebrate a special night out. As we were heading to Minneapolis I thought it would be great to stop off for a trip down memory lane for a50th birthday dinner. Sadly I wish I had kept driving. While my daughter's steak was good, that was about it. It was one of those nights where almost everything went wrong. Our server was either new or just awkward. She made the experience disjointed and not fun. The bread basket had two open packages of crackers... When we mentioned it to her..."oh that's weird" was all she said. My wife's shrimp were small and over done. My steak was fine but had a lot of gristle. And it was expensive on top of that. For my birthday (which they knew it was.)..i got a candle on a plate. Seriously... If you aren't bringing us a desert because you are too cheap to comp one... Don't point it out by melting a candle on a plate by itself. I really wanted this to be a great meal and celebration... Instead I will just have to remember the good old days.
We were on vacation and was told Del-Bar had the best steak. The cab driver told the truth.
The hostess promptly seated us at our appointment time. The cheese curds are fresh and also are the best you will put in your mouth.
The New York Strip is seasoned 14-21 days and is so juicy and tender. My wife had boneless ribeye and was very pleased. Both were cooked to our satisfaction.
I will not be back. Over priced for what you received. This is the Wisconsin Dells highly rated restaurant? Stop charging Chicago prices for food that isn’t very good.
My steak I ordered was dry as hell and the baked potato with cheese was just that. A baked potato with a slice of American cheese thrown on top with bacon.
In the middle of dinner we had to move our table over about four feet because they were expecting two larger groups at near by tables and it would have been cramped. So we moved our table over. I’ve never had to do that during a meal!
We finished our dinner and when we left, neither of the other tables around us were filled.
Eat some other place cheaper with better food.
We had a great time celebrating our wedding anniversary at Del Bar. We were so pleasantly surprised that they acknowledged our anniversary when we arrived and even gave us a complimentary glass of champagne! The steaks were well cooked and delicious! And they brought out rice crackers for my husband who has gluten free diet. All in all, it was a great night!
Every aspect of every food item was so richly and perfectly prepared, this became one of my favorite restaurants in Wisconsin! It does not matter if you savor great entrees, or side dishes, or dessert, EVERY item is at it's best. I truly wanted to personally compliment the chefs, and I cannot wait to be on a trip that takes me back! Thank you Del-Bar
Found this place on yelp and called to make sure it was open and kid friendly which it was..what I didn’t realize was it was pretty “fancy” from just wanting a decent meal that wasn’t Pizza at the water parks we were a bit thrown off with the white table clothes, dim lighting, and $40 meal.. food was delish though! I’d go back without kids.. silly me , name made me think more relaxed then it was.
Our waitress was very nice and great with checking in with us at first but towards the end of our visit she got too busy to provide prompt service. My steak was not cooked to what I requested and the food was most definitely not worth the price!!! Way to expensive for the quality of food you get.
Great happy hour but check the bar bill. 1st drink was at 5:45 the 2ed was at 6:10 was charged full price for both. This is a old time Wis super club . As a semi local I have been coming here for close to 40 years and never had a bad meal. Wisc Dell's has many supper clubs/ steak houses and the dell bar is one of only 3 that my "group" attends.
