The year was 1943, and Jim and Alice Wimmer decided to take a big risk, buying a small existing roadside restaurant known for its char-broiled steaks. How fitting that in 2018, the restaurant’s 75th anniversary year, the third generation of Wimmers, Amy Wimmer, takes the helm from her father Jeff and his wife Jane, bringing her own adventurous spirit to the Del-Bar, the same kind of spirit she so admired in her grandparents. It was really outstanding. Best place we've discovered in a long time. As a rule, I NEVER order steak outside of a true "steakhouse.". I'm very glad I did while dining here. Everything was wonderful, classic old school.

Steak was top notch! Perfectly cooked and seasoned! Wild rice pilaf had 0 flavor and hash browns weren’t very good either. Our server was having an off night, forgot one thing we ordered and messed up another. We’ll be back despite these things!

Everything we had was fantastic- from the salad, to the steaks and especially the hash browns. While the prices might appear to be a bit high for the area, the quality was as good as a fine Chicago steakhouse for considerably less money. Highly recommended.

The food was amazing. From the spinach salad (breads included) to the perfectly grilled medium rare filet and out of this world hash browns, we were very happy. My old fashioned was the best and our server Charlee was outstanding. A wonderful experience.

Bartenders did not pay attention..bar area very crowded, should not allow ppl to eat at bar, we are there to relax and enjoy a cocktail prior to sit and eat..the price we pay for a meal we should be able to have a enjoyable, relaxing experience.

We had an extraordinary meal at The Del Bar. Our server, Bonnie, has been with The Del Bar for almost 30 years and it’s easy to see why, she’s outstanding. Knowledgable, attentive, accommodating, and all with a sense of humor/smile.

There wasn’t anything we’d do differently. We started with cheese curds - which come with an awesome honey mustard side car (you’ll never want a marinara or ranch again) and the smoked applewood ham & cheese stuffed mushrooms. I wasn’t sure what to expect but what a combination. Sooo good. It’s ruined any other stuffed mushroom for me.

Salad dressings are all made in-house and boy can you taste the difference. Our table had the following entrees: Tenderloin with the chef’s butter and hash browns; Pan Fried Walleye; and two Pork Schnitzels. There wasn’t one that we’d do differently. My husband devoured his tenderloin. The Walleye was delicate, buttery and perfectly cooked. The Schnitzel, was delicious. It comes with horseradish sauce, which was super tasty but admittedly, I do wish there was another kind of warm, sauce offered as well. That being said, I’d order it again without hesitation.

We closed out with Grasshoppers topped with house made whipped cream. So refreshing.

The current owners are two sisters, Anne and Amy, who took over from their father and step-mother, who took over from their grandfather, who was one of the founders. It’s clear there is a level of pride and commitment that was passed along with each generation.

Honestly not one complaint and we can’t wait to go back. In addition to the phenomenal service and quality food, it’s the little things that take it over the top and by the little things, I mean, all of the things they make in house instead of using a manufactured product and the way their team works together. What a difference it makes and it’s so appreciated.

This is a wonderful place to go. We had great service at the bar with drinks and apps. Dinner service was pretty good. The food was all good. The steak was good but I have to tell you for fifty bucks the steaks at Texas Roadhouse are every bit as good if not better. My steak was done exactly the way I asked but just didn’t wow me.

I was very disappointed in the quality of our main entrees. The steaks looked tired, small and old. My tempura shrimp was covered in a thick doughy batter and was totally not what I expected. Sorry Del Bar but your food is slipping. There are much better options in the area in the same price range.
PS server was not overly friendly, said she had never had shrimp tempura so didn't know what it was supposed to be like and was a disappointment as well.

Great time. We got seated in a corner booth by the windows. Perfect spot.
Food was great. Ribeye cooked and seasoned perfectly. Oysters Rockefeller were delish as well as the west coast fresh oysters.

We have been going for years our favorite place but last nite was really disappointed always order the 14 ounce ribeye and it was always great , last nite the steak was salty and a beef base poured over it which there never was presentation was not very appealing just the worse nite there ever. I always figure anyone can have an off nite so will be back

We are from Muskego and come up once a year around Columbus Day and eat at the Del Bar. Awesome cocktails fast and courteous, great food and service. Will return next Columbus Day 2022.

We have eaten at the Del Bar numerous times over the years. For a Sunday night in October, the place was packed! Hence, table talk was difficult due to the high volume in all conversations. Our table was near the bar, between there and the larger seating area. The lighting was poor at this location, for our senior eyes. Service was busy, but we were not neglected. The food, as always, was outstanding, if on the higher end, pricewise. Our table decided that we would be back again, but not before also visiting Field's restaurant next time, which we find far less noisy, with more space between tables. Both restaurants are top of the line, so you can't go wrong in either place.

Perfectly cooked steak and salmon. The marrow butter on the steak was to die for, and, sweet potato fries were amazing! Just wish we had asked the size of the schaum torte-HUGE !

We had a lovely meal! Very attentive waitstaff and each course was fresh and flavorful! The broiled fish was delightful and the vegetables were top notch! The Strawberry Schaum Torte was a yummy end to the meal! One of our favorites!

First timers but we live in the area. This is now our go to Supper Club. The best we’ve been to since we moved here 21/2 years ago. We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about it. We have NO complaints….decided it’s our go to for family birthdays….even decided to celebrate half birthdays so we can go more often.

The food and the service here are exemplary. The servers are all adults who have chosen to be servers. The restaurant is not short-staffed like so many other places. If you come, bring your appetite. You'll need it. The portions are generous, to say the least. Bring your wallet, too. There's a reason they can afford good staff. We had dinner, drinks, and dessert, and it came to around $120. Not bad at all, considering how good everything was.

We had another awesome dinner at the De Bar. Tony was our server, and he helped make the meal memorable. The Ribeye I had, was one of the best I ever had. Perfectly done, Med Rare. My wife had the Sea Scallops, which she said was "Delicious" ! ! ! Thanks Tony and Del Bar for a wonderful night ! ! ! We shall return! ! !

We went out to dinner for our twenty fifth anniversary and chose the del bar. We were looking for a nice place to have a nice dinner. We were not disappointed. Quiet, nice table and tableware our waitress was very nice and brought us two glasses of champagne on the house. We really enjoyed our dinner there.
