The Del-Bar was establish in 1943 as a Roadside Steakhouse by Jim and Alice Wimmer and today is still family owned and operated by Jeff and Jane Wimmer. The "Prairie style" ambiance, renovations and expansions are by James Dresser, an important protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright.

It’s always noisy because it is in a tourist town but usually the food makes up for it. Unfortunately this time the portion size seemed inadequate for the price. The steak was not prepared to order.
Great evening! Wonderful service.... thanks to Amy and Cheryl.... spot on food and extraordinary wine. A true Wisconsin treasure in the supper club tradition. I have been enjoying going to this gem for 44 years. Never a disappointment. Family run 3rd generation.
Our first time experience was outstanding. The food and service was excellent. We’re spreading the word to family & friends. Keep up the good work!
I enjoyed the Del-Bar very much. The food and service was very good. Little disappointed that a Wisconsin Supper Club did not offer the lazy susan. Looked at the menu from 1953 that was displayed at the front of the restaurant and lamented about the good old days. I did order an old-fashioned and was not disappointed. I think the meal was pricey in that all you got for the $39.50 was a salad, meat and a potato. We did order the onion rings for an appetizer and they were very good. The rest of the appetizers were too pricey. I would recommend the restaurant but would warn that it is pricey. Bring back a lazy susan to be included with the meal.
As always The Del-Bar never disappoints. We have been coming here for many years. This visit was for our wedding anniversary and we received a glass of complimentary champagne which was a nice touch. The food was amazing, our server was so nice and funny. This is our go-to restaurant whenever we are in the area. Thank you for everyone for making our meal/anniversary so special!
We had a cocktail at the bar to start and an appetizer (Calamari) which was great; wonderful fun atmosphere and decor. Then we had steak for dinner, husband had hashbrowns and those were fantastic. Enjoyed our meal, a little pricey, but worth it.
Another great night out at the Del Bar. They always have a way to make everyone feel noticed and special. The food was fantastic. The steak done perfectly and the salmon on point as well. Kudos to the bar staff for making my Manhattans with a local rye whiskey,Limousin Rye from Dancing Goat in Cambridge, WI. A great night. We will keep coming back.
I thought our server was a bit harsh and rude. I ordered a whiskey sour and it came as a martini. I asked the server about why it came this way and she lost it on me. Very odd reaction my wife and I thought.
Arrived on time, Hostess was pleasant and seated us right away. Cocktails and food service were excellent. Fish was good but not outstanding.
The fish fry is always more fish than I can eat. Our waitress, Renee, is a pro.
I had shrimp, and it was a bit over cooked, but everything else was wonderful. My companion had the duck and said it was perfect.
Service was really good, server was awesome. Ambiance was relaxing.
Arrived in to me for happy hour...great apps and drinks!
Dinner was amazing...we both had the tenderloin....excellent.
Will be back.
Best restaurant around! We went early and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and made a good old fashioned. This place never disappoints.
This was our second visit to Del Bar, and it won't be the last. High quality food prepared perfectly, attentive service, beautiful building. You get what you pay for.
Food delicious. Nice room. Waitstaff efficient.
Hostess did not crack a smile coming in or going out! I even thanked her. No response !
We some here once a year and always enjoy it. The steaks are excellent and the restaurant is beautiful!
Very snobby hostess and waitress. Felt extremely rushed. Food was good.
The Del-Bar never dissapoints, our favorite hands down!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Food is always prepared perfectly. Definitely will continue to go back!
Delicious steak and crab- we will be back for sure!!
The "jumbo" scallops were anything but jumbo. The calamari was bland and the dipping sauce was not good or even complimentary to the calamari. The price of the meal was definitely not worth the overall experience in quality or ambiance. Will not return.
As always great food, drinks, desserts and service!
I have enjoyed every visit to the Del- Bar. I wish I lived closer so I could go there more often. The food and service are exceptional.
It was great food and service in a laid back atmosphere. Absolutely loved it and it is now our go-to steak house in the dells!
We took Mom out for her 65th birthday. Everyone had plenty to eat and enjoyed the atmosphere.
We found the Del-Bar to be a wonderful place amongst many touristy restaurants. We were very pleased with the fresh seafood choices.Everything was beyond expectations. Our server Jesse was an absolute treasure in helping us to make choices.
We loved it.
The Del-Bar lives up to it's well-deserved outstanding reputation! Celebrated my birthday and enjoyed everything from the cocktail through the dessert. Outstanding!
As usual... a wonderful evening at the "Del" as we have had many in the past...
We have eaten there before and have had excellent food. This time we got the bottom of the barrel. Server was slow. After saying we needed a couple minutes to give her our main order after we'd given her the order of order it took her 20 minutes to get back to us. I could see that she was doing hardly anything anywhere else. When she did bring our food she told me my plate was hot well I touched it anyhow plate wasn't hot mistake was lukewarm wouldn't melt butter on top of it the mushrooms were like potato chips they were so overdone luckily it was my wife's birthday and her food was excellent
Wonderful food and great service !!!! Very thoughful and courteous wait staff!!!!!
Used to love this place. Need to go back to what Jimmy did. Our food was way over priced for what you get. And whom ever cooked had a heavy Hand with the salt. Came back after not going when the son took over. Cannot say I will go back again.
It was a wondeful experience. Great food! The potions were amble.
We have never had a bad meal or bad service at the Del-Bar. It’s a little on the pricy side so definitely not a place I would take young children. It is great for special occasions or just a date night. I would highly recommend it!!
The food and service was amazing. The staff was friendly and accommodating on a busy night and the dinner was well paced which is one of my favorite things when I am sitting down to enjoy a nice bottle of wine paired with a perfectly cooked ribeye
We have been coming here every year for many years. Each time the rating would have been 5 stars - not this year! We had a group of eight for a 7:00pm reservation. We arrived around 6:15 and sat at the bar. Great service by Gretchen. Finally called for our table at 7:20. Table service was not up to past years standard. Attention and friendliness was well below average. Had to ask for a refresh round of drinks and our dinner arrived over an hour after ordering (after getting up from the table and asking for our meal). A couple issues with the side dishes too. Management did comp our drinks but couldn’t make up for the way we felt about the overall service. We hope this was just a “bad night” not a sign of their normal service going forward.
Our experience was great. Food was delicious, made to perfection. We had a very attentive server. We will be back for sure.
The food was classic supper club fair. No nonsense steaks, seafood and cocktails with plenty of booze. They had a better than decent wine selection for the Wisconsin Dells and they take reservations, which I would highly recommend. The architecture is apart of the experience, as it was designed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s students, so take some time to wonder around a bit. I would however echo the comments about somewhat inattentive service and we had to wait about 20 minutes for our table, even with a reservation. It may have been so long to ensure we had a booth (which we didn’t ask for). This is a must stop for families visiting the Dells, in my opinion.
The best supper club experience i have ever had.
The food was some of the best I've had.
Ambiance and service was exceptional.
Highly recommend it.
Really very good. Food was solid, reasonably priced and the service was very efficient. This is a very busy, quality restaurant in a vacation destination full of mediocre, family style establishments. Escape from the chains and have a good meal here instead.
