The Del-Bar was establish in 1943 as a Roadside Steakhouse by Jim and Alice Wimmer and today is still family owned and operated by Jeff and Jane Wimmer. The "Prairie style" ambiance, renovations and expansions are by James Dresser, an important protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright.

This place is amazing!
Another amazing meal at the Del Bar! Excellent service, high quality food expertly prepared. We had the bone in ribeye and the filet, both with hash browns. The spinach salad with hot bacon vinaigrette is mouth watering.
I brought a group of managers in for dinner after a long day of meetings. The service, food and atmosphere were all spot on, as always.
Food and atmosphere is great, the drinks however could be improved . Ordered a martini up, came to the table without olives or twist. Also ordered an amaretto stone sour and there was no sour mix added. Again, overall a good experience but the drinks could use a little help.
We had a fantastic experience at Del-Bar! Our server, Bonnie was attentive, yet not overbearing. We had cheese curds, which were light and delicious, and my husband had 3 different kinds of oysters on the half shell to start- he said they were amazing! My Ribeye and his New York strip were cooked to perfection! All around it was the best dinner we've had out in a long time, and we eat out more than I'd like to admit! Definitely go here!!
Always a great time and food. It is a must stop when we are in the Dells. Love the atmosphere
Great experience! The food and staff were fantastic. Our reservation time was 7:30 on Saturday and they were within 15 minutes. Very surprising for a Very Busy restaurant.
We looked forward to dining at the Dell Bar restaurant as we have heard great things about it from others. The one thing we asked for was not to be seated next to a kitchen or work station. Not only were we parked right in front of a servers work station but what in our estimation, was in the aisle. A table for two where everyone had to walk past us to get where they were going. It felt like tables had been set up in the aisle as add ons because it was so busy. The place was packed, over-crowded and noisy. We felt rushed, we were given little time to relax and enjoy our drink or food. For the price paid it was a disappointment. We had hoped it would be an enjoyable anniversary dinner. The food was adequate. My asparagus was under cooked. When I mentioned it to the server, she said "oh" but did nothing about it.
The place has great potential for a classy, service oriented supper club. The ambience factor is definitely there, just misused. The bottom line, we felt like cattle being rushed through and that the management was only interested in packing the place in for the bucks.
We loved our night out at the Del-Bar. We had a 6:30pm reservation but didn't get a table until almost 7:30. This was the only hiccup in the evening. Great food and wonderful atmosphere . They had New Glarus Staghouse on tap my favorite Octoberfest beer! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and I had the hashbrowns with my steak and they were so yummy!
We will return very soon!
Outstanding, delicious, and that was just the food! We had a 1/2 hour wait and that was with reservations, but the bartender entertained us with some mighty good drinks 🍷 🍹.
My wife and I had the steak. Hers was very tender, even though she ordered it well done. Mine was good and I got it Wisconsin style. But, it was kind of sparse for +6.00 up-charge. The sweet potato fries were great and our waitress was the best. Old Fashioned's were good as was the French Onion Soup. But, a little $$. We would go again.
We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Del Mar. The food was superb, the ambience was pleasing, service excellent. The dining experience exceeded my expectations.
Awesome service! The pan fried walleye was outstanding! The hostess with the Halloween vest was so sweet. Our waitress and staff were excellent! Will definitely go again thanks!
It was an excellent experience and was fabulous! I loved my pork chop, one of the best I have ever had!
Four of us celebrated two birthdays on our first visit to The Del Bar. The menu offered good choices of beef and seafood and there was a nice variety of sides. Salads were nicely presented and the dressings were good. Appetizers of shrimp cocktail and calamari were nice extra touches. The ribeye was good, but very dry and not truly medium rare, as ordered. I asked for a cup of au jus to enhance the flavor, as I expect a medium rare ribeye to be very juicy. The filet and flat iron steaks were prepared as requested and very tasty. Old Fashioneds were nicely prepared, a Dirty Martini was served on the rocks instead of up. Our waiter was young and seemed a little rushed, so we never made any mention of an overdone steak or incorrect cocktail. He was pleasant and polite and truly did his very best with our meals. Desserts took awhile to arrive, but since our dinner was intended to be leisurely, we didn't mind. We thought that the birthday guys might have received a scoop of ice cream or a candle, but I now realize that 'extra touch' doesn't happen here. All in all we felt it was a 3/4 star experience. Coming from out of town, we will carefully consider returning.
A perfectly cooked Fillet Oscar with a kale and apple chopped salad.
Love the place, the food was fantastic, and our server, Jessie, made sure my hubby's birthday was celebrated.
Go whenever in the Dells. Several ordered the Pasta dish, with protein but it was not liked by some
In my group. I had Halibut and my sis had ribeye, they were delicious!
Always love the food and service, the first guy who waited on us must of been new, asked us what we wanted to drink and we said pepsi and mt dew and we would like cheese curds as app he said ok. Brought me a pepsi, which was coke and didnt bring my wife anything, then didnt come back for 10 mins to take our order, finally we tracked down another server , who was fantastic in helping.
Went for our anniversary. Food was great, staff was wonderful.
Was the first time that we ate here. It was recommended to us from a friend of ours. Would recommend to others. Food was delicious. Service was really nice. Really appreciate the champagne that we received because of our anniversary. Totally unexpected, and was a nice touch. Would go back!
The food and drinks are fantastic. Have a cocktail in the lounge and then be seated, enjoy the full supper club experience as it was meant to be. The Ribeye was great. My co-workers loved the crab cakes.
Love the Del Bar
We always have a wonderful experience when we come to the Del Bar!
Three NY strip dinners. Three apps. No drinks. Sub salad. $200?
You're steak is not $42 a piece quality. No Gravy for mashed potatoes? The apps were really marginal. Presentation is "put the food on the plate".
There was nothing wrong with the food. It's just not $200 for 3 dinners good.
And you're not a supper club. No prime rib, no cheese and cracker plate, too large, and your decor is really poor.
Our seating was 10 minutes past our reserve time which was expected. A very busy super club on a Saturday evening. We found the hostess very friendly as was the staff. The lounge area has comfortable seating while you wait. The food is fantastic and highly recommend to anyone. Look forward to visiting again.
Great food and service! Stuffed mushroom appetizer and crab cakes were awesome! Incredible steak and potato. French onion soup is incredible!
We chose the Del-Bar to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary there. We have taken our children, colleagues, family and friends to this restaurant and it seemed like a great place to return to and remember all the good times through the years. Our server was very polite and positive. We are grateful for such nice hospitality and great food! This may just become an every anniversary spot! Thank you! Todd and Brenda F
A terrific supper club with history and character to spare. Steak was amazing.
No visit to the Dells is complete without a stop at Del-Bar. Crab cakes appetizer was awesome! Finally a place that does not overload with Old Bay seasoning. Salmon sandwiches were juicy and flavorful. Service was friendly and fast as usual.
Good drinks and delicious food
If you are looking for a great steak in a wonderful atmosphere while visiting the Wisconsin Dells, you cannot do much better than the Del-Bar. The service was also exceptional and very attentive to all of our needs.
They not only have very good drinks, but the food is outstanding. I ordered the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. It was the best piece of beef that I have had in quite a long time. It was so tender that it nearly melted in my mouth. The hashbrowns I ordered were perfectly crispy.
My colleague had the filet and could not stop talking about it, even the next day.
This is a place that I will surely be returning to.
Reservation was for 5:30. Didn’t get seated until 6:00. Very crowded and noisy in the bar. Much better in the dining area. Attentive service. Food was good. Not great, but no specific complaints. Del Bar is famous for steaks, but we didn’t have them. Would go back.
My fathers birthday
Not as good as people ha e said and way too expensive for the area
It’s always noisy because it is in a tourist town but usually the food makes up for it. Unfortunately this time the portion size seemed inadequate for the price. The steak was not prepared to order.
Great evening! Wonderful service.... thanks to Amy and Cheryl.... spot on food and extraordinary wine. A true Wisconsin treasure in the supper club tradition. I have been enjoying going to this gem for 44 years. Never a disappointment. Family run 3rd generation.
Our first time experience was outstanding. The food and service was excellent. We’re spreading the word to family & friends. Keep up the good work!
I enjoyed the Del-Bar very much. The food and service was very good. Little disappointed that a Wisconsin Supper Club did not offer the lazy susan. Looked at the menu from 1953 that was displayed at the front of the restaurant and lamented about the good old days. I did order an old-fashioned and was not disappointed. I think the meal was pricey in that all you got for the $39.50 was a salad, meat and a potato. We did order the onion rings for an appetizer and they were very good. The rest of the appetizers were too pricey. I would recommend the restaurant but would warn that it is pricey. Bring back a lazy susan to be included with the meal.
