Very good service and food. Highly recommend.
serving of fish and chips should include a salad that is more than a tablespoon in size. menu should include a salad type of meal that could have chicken or beef added. the size of a single piece of fish was extremely small - was this a male/female type of serving. probably suited my weightwatchers portions but I thought it could have been bigger.
It was my first time going there and I feel like going back there again for a get together. Nice location and friendly servers.
Great views, fun atmosphere and very attentive service
Great location on the river with good food and service
Twice I have come to the restaurant with my 8 girlfriends to celebrate birthdays and it has been amazing both time.
A tasy meal at a good price in a convenient location
Celebrate Bday dinner with kids and we all love this place, also found out they have singer too that night, it’s fun and happy, especially thanks for our waitress Kristen, she did a excellent job! Also special thanks for the chef, every dish was great and we love the apple tart too and repeat order after the first one, thanks for their work .. 🙏🏻👍🏻
Thank you for the wonderful dining experience at The Deck Kitchen & Bar. We enjoyed the atmosphere, food and ambiance!
Lovely service as always. Amazing food and great atmosphere.
Very pleased and will be going again soon :)
Wonderful Richmond find, great views, food and Happy Hour every day.
Wish I had the servers name to share but she gave us THE BEST service! So speedy, so personable and was so knowledgeable about the menu. The deck is the best view in Richmond I’ve seen as well. Will be back soon!
Colleagues going away party! Ambiance and live band was great.
Nachos cold and didn’t like the bechemel sauce dribbled over them. Maui ribs and chicken wings were a hit!
Beautiful view. Very classy interior. Loved the flame towers. Menu is limited but the food tastes delicious.
Lovely evening. Food was great. Music amazing!
But not for Brunch over priced what what was served
Read about the renovation and wanted to take advantage of our anniversary and date night. Leaving our child for the first time with a babysitter.
Thinking that 3 hours would leave us too much time after dinner, we considered a stroll after possibly.
It was not busy, and it was slow even getting us to a table.
Setting is gorgeous, definitely no complaints with the atmosphere. Aside from getting a little chilly by the water. We requested a heater and we were told they aren’t working. Two minute later that heater was wheeled over to another table requesting heat.
Young server was pleasant enough, but definitely lacked the experience to do basic table maintenance even when it really was not busy.
Had we got the server from the section over, maybe our experience would be different.
I would go back for a drink at the bar.
Oh and though I put in the notes ‘anniversary’ when making the reservations, no acknowledgement. Not looking for a freebie, but why ask what we are celebrating?
I reserved table at 6:45pm. When we arrived the reception, no host there ! I had been waited more than 10 minutes! My baby cried ! And no other customers in line or waiting around ! I then tried to reach a lady at bar area ! She was leaving to work with handbag but she d have been happily to get me a table ! The table was closed to the door ! My husband tried to close a bit the door coz my baby felt so cold ! One server said she needs to keep the door opening!
We then been waited another 10 minutes that our server finally asked us about water things ! That’s quite made us so disappointed for this dinner ! Thank you!
Great location and ambiance. Service was friendly but not attentive. Meals came all about 5 min apart. the live music was good but too loud for my taste. Food quality was very good. I would eat there again.
The renovation & setting are good. However, they have super slow service. People are lining up for the tables, but inside the restaurant, there are so many empty uncleaned up tables . We wait for about 30minutes to get drinks. They offer 2 hours free parking., but you won’t be able to finish your dinner in 2 hours due to the slow service.
Love it here! Great Staff, lovely setting..Great Food!
VERY SLOW service! Almost 4 hours in total. Server was very friendly but seemed unaware that everything was taking so long
Musician was good but, even at the far end of the deck from her, it was hard to converse
The Deck is a gem if you are wanting a lovely patio to dine on. We think the restaurant has a lot of potential, however where it came up short is the menu.
They need more variety with only offering one hamburger we’d like to see a chicken and fish burger along with a few rice bowls or other items of interest.
Hoping they expand their menu as would like to make The Deck a favourite spot to dine at.
Wonderful restaurant right on the water. The deck is so beautifuly made, with nice quality wood and top quality side covers that makes the view super clear. Plus the good overall heating makes it warm and cozy any time of the year. It is rare to find a restaurant where you can sit outside and enjoy the sun and water even on a cold and windy day. Nice and cozy ambiance, excellent place to spend time together with your friends. It is not eat and go type of restaurant. The other thing I like is that there are no tv screens around the deck which really makes the ambiance so much better. Food is very good and nicely served however, not too many varieties. This is ok with me because they have a little bit of everything but some people might find the food options limited. Staff was very nice and helpfull and the service was very good and efficient. All in all an excellent place for romantic date, for chat with good old friends or for a large group gathering. We will back for sure.
We came here to celebrate mother's day. They were serving a brunch Buffett. Food was mediocre at most. Waffles were hard. Bacon was hard. Shrimp cocktail was way too salty.
What made it a very disappointing experience was the service. The wait staff at the front doesn't seem to know what they are doing. They made so many people wait and turned them away despite the restaurant being half empty. Not sure why.
I made a reservation noting we had a baby in the party. We also made they the staff knows we have a baby. We were offered a bar table and was told they don't have anything else. There were also no change table available in any washroom and so we had to change the baby on the restaurant table top. Most of the waiting staff don't know what the are doing. It seems like they are very inexperienced and unorganizrd. Plates were never cleared in a prompt manner. The waitress dropped the whole jar of utensils on the floor while trying to move tables apart and startled our baby. She then put the same jar back into the table. Sheldon seems to be the manager? He looked grumpy and doesn't seem to want to work there.
I wouldn't suggest anyone to come back until they have better management.
It's a shame we had a bad experience because it is a great looking patio, and the live music was a lot of fun.
We had a reservation for 9 (which turned out to be 8) for an early Mother's Day celebration; right when we got there, they tried to seat us at two separate tables saying they don't have tables that can accommodate that size left... except we had made a reservation so you'd think they would have addressed that. An appropriate table was found and we were transferred onto the patio, we had to ask our server for everything -- enough menus for the whole table, more water etc.
The straw that really broke the camels back for me is that all our food came out in the wrong order and at different times. Three of the eight meals came 15 minutes after the first one and only when I flagged down the server and asked her to check on the food. The oysters we had order as appetizers hadn't shown up by the time we finished our meals, so again I flagged down the server and only then did she bring them out but it seemed they had otherwise been ready and sitting there. As she dropped them off, she commented "huh, looks like I have to bring everything out on my own"
The meal was okay but I will not return based on the service.
Gorgeous deck that is shielded from the wind and heated. Blankets at the table if need. Bring you shades. The deck is all weather so even on a rainy day you are food. In summer the wind shields will come up and it will be an amazing place I am sure. Will go back.
the best part was flat bread. kids menu - small portion, even for 3 yo
Amanda gave us superb service. Ambience is wonderful. Loved the live music, would go back just for that. Food needs improvement. portions are small and not a huge menu to choose from.
Food that we ordered was lacking flavour and had over and under cooked items. The best item on the menu is the flat breads and fries.
Service was excellent.
Found it by accident but will be going back again ...
Food is delicious. But portions are smaller than what I thought it should be for the price, and selections are limited. Good atmosphere.
Great space and always great service. Will definitely return.
I rated with 1 just because your rating system does not give me and option to put ZERO or minus in my rating .
I can describe this place with only ONE word in every category : PATHETIC
Absolutely pathetic is more accurate.
I still remember this place as Elephant Castle bar and the vibrant crowd and fantastic service and menu they had : nothing to do with the current bar.
I literally ran out of this place aftrer multiple tries to order something half decent ; I had to return 3 times the only one appetizer I ordered just because they tried to serve it not cooked .
Not sure how do they still stay in business but the place looked like a dungeon and was so dark, in- welcoming and with bad trained staff .
The location can give any restaurant there a fantastic reputation if The management of the current owner wasn’t so pathetically out of line .
Not worth waisting my time going there - never ever again until change of ownership / management
A refreshed setting that I can hardly wait to revisit in the summer. unfortunately the wall to wall windows are fairly chilly in the winter, especially on a rany night. The menu is eclectic...something for everyone. The prices are good with sixeable portions. The dine out menu was too asian for 3 of 4 in my party... the adventurous one chise the duck and clam ragout. Unfortunately her entree was served with the appetizer and they both got cold!... the KungPau chicken was very spicey and really spoiled the flavour of the mild duck. The concept is great. The atmosphere is lovely with an enthusiastic friendly server... I will be back!
Ecoensive terrible food. Cashew chicken was like having Sweet and Sour at a food court. Out of main dish (Ghnochi) on a Monday with no people. Donut dessert dried out and obviously old. Depressing atmosphere. A waste of an evening.
We weren't expecting the revamped menu, but the small plated were ample enough and easy for sharing. One confusing aspect was parking - two hours free, but you must use the pay station by the restaurant's front door and park in any spot.
We came in for dinner so it was dark outside that we didn’t get to enjoy what would have been a great view.
Menu was unique and we probably tried about 10 to 12 dishes and then order more of our favourites.
First time at The Deck. Very nice interior and a great deck that would be nice during the summer. Food was very good although a little off the beaten path for some of the items. Not cheap but not ridiculous either. Good service on the night as well.
