The Dearborn is one of the absolute best restaurants I have ever been to. The staff is so nice and accommodating, being very conscious about ensuring a special experience. This, on top of the sensational food, is why I love The Dearborn. Also their drinks are amazing.
Apps were great, flatbread, scotch egg, duck confit. My duck was a bit gamey tasting
One of my favorite go to Chicago restaurants. Always great food, interesting wine list and innovative cocktails. Service friendly and knowledgeable. The perfect pre-theater spot but then a perfect anytime dining experience and oh yes, great people watching.
Great, friendly service, very likable staff. an excellent menu with great value!
I was not impressed with the restaurant at all. The service and food was just ok and for the price I expected more.
Great service, great food. Well priced and convenient parking across the street.
The burrata was paired with beets added with creme fraiche. We had to ask for the grilled bread, so I'm not sure if the server forgot it or if it's served without. My friend and I both had the fish and chips. They were good but I'll try something else on the menu. There were so many delicious- sounding items and it was hard to choose. The Dearborn has never disappointed and the service is always excellent.
Nice service and food !!!
Live music was great
Great brunch spot
To start, a server wasn’t at the table right away. And after being served one drink, took a long time to get a second drink. I had an empty glass for at least a half hour before I was asked if I’d like another. The food was average and the portion sizes were way off. I don’t expect to get so much food I can’t finish, I’d only hope I get a good amount of well prepared food that tastes great. The cost of the meal wasn’t worth it either. I was very excited to try this place, but sadly I don’t think I will be returning.
Thought the service was slow, food was just ok, but price was extremely high. Portion sizes are good, but the flavor wasn't anything extraordinary for the price. Many other amazing restaurants to try in Chicago - I don't recommend this one.
Our favorite restaurant in Chicago. Always an excellent experience.
We went to the Dearborn while in Chicago on a girl’s weekend. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and was very accommodating to requests. One of the people I was with received the wrong entree, however both the server and the manager took care of it quickly and we were compensated with 2 free desserts which was very much appreciated. All of appetizers (we ordered the hush puppies, chive rolls and taco of the day), entree’s (2 of us had halibut, one had red snapper and the other had the filet) and sides (we ordered the mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts) were delicious. The dessert was ok (we ordered the fried dough and banana chocolate cake) but now that I know what it is, I probably wouldn’t order it again. However, we had a wonderful experience and delicious meal so I would definitely go back again if I was in the area.
My 4th time! Brought my coworkers to celebrate our Month of May birthdays! We all love the food and the chef came to our table! You must experience the food and presentations!
Great location, kind people and good food, just bring a friend with you!!!
Server was great but service was slow
The Dearborn never fails to please. From the food to the staff, it's a beautiful setting that pleases all of the senses. I have yet to find anything on their menu that isn't top-notch. If you've not tried this place yet, do yourself a favor and go for it.
Another great visit to The Dearborn! Service is always impeccable, the food outstanding, and the atmosphere fun.
Great atmosphere, food and service. Really a great spot near the Daley Center!
My server was so nice and helpful! She recommended a house soda that was amazing. I will definitely be back.
Either our table was too high or the seats too low...table was mid-chest height for someone 5'6"! Didn't want to switch tables since we wanted to enjoy the daylight, but it wasn't easy to eat with the seat/table height being so weird. Better than being ignored, but waiter was a bit over enthusiastic and interrupted conversation much more than was necessary, e.g., "may I take this empty soup bowl." Music is always too loud here for early dinner...people that show up pre-theater may actually want to talk rather than think they're in a disco! Crank it up later when people are drinking and partying.
From the service to food everything was great. Tried different things on the from the menu everything good.
Amazing food and we had a booth in the back so it was quiet. As always great experience!
We had such a great meal at the Dearborn! My mom, my brother and I went after Hamilton. Food was amazing, server was great, atmosphere was hip.
First time for dinner at the Dearborn. Actually liked breakfast better. Service is excellent! The Dearborn is a real Chicago style restaurant. I don’t give it a 5 star rating because the menu is limited. I had the halibut and my wife had the filet. Both were perfect portions. Excellent salads and really yummy ice cream. Would recommend the Dearborn for your theater dining.
Great and affordable food options for a nice brunch for Mother's Day. I had been on another casual occasion and hoped for a similar type of experience and that hope was met! Only downside was they were out of the French Toast. However, the disappointment didn't last long as the apple pancakes were delicious! I look forward to returning to try something on the dinner menu!
The restaurant is very nice, great food, and our server (Josh) was awesome!
my daughter and i enjoyed a very pleasurable mother's day brunch. our waiter was very attentive to my daughter's allergy concerns. the service was smooth. everyone was very friendly and cheerful. the ambiance is very "cool" . loved the band combo and singer. fab choices to comfortably listen too . i would highly recommend The Dearborn for any occasion.
Great place for brunch! Jazz music was a nice touch, and not too loud. Greta service. Interesting menu.
The first thing you notice walking into The Dearborn is the ambiance. I loved the industrial design with a bit of elegance. From the outside, it's very easy to miss but you get excited once you step in.
The waiter was upbeat, excited and helpful. I went for brunch for Mother's Day while being on my Whole 30 diet. He put in the effort to help me find a dish that was compliant.
Best Fish & Chips! Matt the bartender & Pedro our server...FABULOUS SERVICE & PEOPLE! SO SAD CHURROS off the menu m favorite for my sweet tooth!
On a first time visit to Chicago we were looking for a good dining experience prior to seeing a touring Broadway musical. The main reason we chose The Dearborn was the website menu listed Cioppino for an entree choice and French onion soup BOTH of which turned out to not be actually on the menu. The website had not been updated. The waiter was so apologetic and the manager came to apologize as well. In spite of the initial disappointment we enjoyed a fabulous dinner with some of the best service we could have expected! The maze plate was excellent and the halibut perfectly cooked. Would highly recommend The Dearborn.
Food was good but we were at a table by the door and it was not very pleasant every time the door opened and we were hit with cold air.
My friends and I had, unknowingly, each made separate dinner reservations with our significant others for the same day and time at The Dearborn - we were all planning to see a musical together that was playing up the street. Once we learned we were all eating at the same place, one friend made a last-minute call to the restaurant to see if they could seat us all together... and they somehow managed to pull it off during rush/happy hour on a Friday! The food, drinks, service, and ambience was stellar to boot (as always). Just another reason for me to keep coming back to The Dearborn!
This place is never anything short of superb. Tonight- impeccable Brussels sprouts, tasty crab hushpuppies, fantastic flatbread pizza with fig and goat cheese, and perfect pulled pork cigars. Spectacular waitstaff and an energizing bar atmosphere. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Food and service was excellent, however it is pricey. Spent $95 on a non-alcohol lunch for two 😳
The place has a nice vibe. The bar is cool and packed with after workers. But we went for the food and sat in the dining area. We had a reservation which was honored promptly.
The food was not as good as we expected. The 31 dollar pork chop was medium thick and over cooked. I had a feeling this would happen after I ordered to and the waiter did ask how I would like it cooked. The brussel sprouts were not trimmed well so that they had much of the stem attached and were somewhat tough. The fried chicken livers were good. The service was good.
This is my second visit in the Dearborn. Definitely, my favorite restaurant in Chicago downtown. I ordered burger, halibut and a new dish with seasonal vegetables, Prosciutto, fig jam on top a crust. They all tasted great. The halibut is very fresh, with a charming creamy sauce. The service is very good too. Waiters are helpful and knowledgeable about every dish.
We had a great experience here. Food was fabulous. It’s in a perfect location to see a show before/after and they went above and beyond and called me when another member of my party forgot their phone at the table. Highly recommend!
We loved everything about the Dearborn except being seated so close to two other groups of diners that we could easily hear both conversations. Otherwise our food and drinks were great and our waiter was excellent.
