Nice place and conveniently located for the theater goers. The food was good.
We sat a a booth that was very quiet -- a bit from other tables and was GREAT. The menu is quite interesting! Good value for the money. We all enjoyed it.
If you are a “foodie” I would not suggest. If you are looking for a quick bite, and nothing to fancy this is your place.
Excellent food and service and perfect location for plays!
Great service and loved the location. Very close to all theater buildings. Great wine and drink menu.
The service was great and nice lunch selections. Right across the street from the Goodman
Thank you so much for the birthday card!
Had a lovely birthday lunch at The Dearborn. Amazing wine, amazing food. Lovely service. They even gave me a card for my birthday and a small treat to celebrate. Had an amazing time.
The duck breast and salad were unique and very tasty. The brussel sprouts were some of the best I have ever been served. Supers name was Alex, he was extremely pleasant and very informative.
Wonderful; kids loved it too.
Really great food and a lovely venue with live music! I had the daily vegetable quiche and it was sublime, my mother had the mushroom omelette and lovely it! Only critique was that the peach bellinis had a very small amount of peach, but the Prosecco was of good quality so that was hardly a serious problem. It's very close to all of Chicago's theatres - would recommend it as a great spot before a weekend matinee!
Great atmosphere, unique menu
It was fine. Nothing special. I felt like the menu was pretty limited. But none of us left hungry. Just wasn’t a stand out in the opinion of our group of 6.
Great food. Great service. Fun atmosphere. We had enjoyed The Dearborn our first time as a couple and returned this time with a group of 5 friends. And it was another great experience.
Our group enjoyed entrees with veal, scallops, rabbit, and duck. And craft beer and wine and Woodford bourbon. We were all able to find flavors of food and drinks to fit everyone’s palate.
And our server Alex helped us have a fun experience with attentive service and great suggestions. We all left talking about the delicious food and how we appreciated Alex enhancing our dining experience.
Loved the restaurant overall, but is was paced with young children. We wanted a more adult , sophisticated atmosphere. Was also slightly disappointed in a brunch menu for a Saturday lunch. But having said that, the food was delicious and the service outstanding.
I've been to the Dearborn a number of times and appreciate the convenience and cheerful vibe when I am attending a play in the Loop. On my most recent visit I felt the prices had gone up--most entrees are over $30 (the exceptions being a hamburger or fish and chips). Starter portions are large and could make a good alternative to an entree. The Dearborn has a strong cocktail program, though drinks are also at the upper end of Chicago prices (most are $14). The wait staff is nice and they check on you often. Noise level is high, especially close to the bar. Food is creative and good, with quality ingredients. But the ambiance is more like afterwork happy hour. Maybe they should offer a theater prix-fixe menu?
Great service, quality food & a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!
I really felt like my visit there mattered to the host, waiter, manager, and general manager. Keep up the good customer service, this is what separates you from the rest.
The restaurant was nice but the servers were a little snotty. A little too pricey for the value of the food.
Excellent food, even better staff, if that’s possible.
We were there to celebrate my son getting married. From the time we entered we were treated extremely good. Everyone was friendly and inviting. The food was delicious. I was very happy that we chose this restaurant to celebrate this happy day. Thank you again for making this day so special. Rebecca was the best!!!
We were recommended this restaurant by friends and were blown away at the awesomeness of our experience. Thanks so much.
Great brunch and great Bloody Marys. Had excellent oysters too!
Service was amazing and very unique food selections. Enjoyed conversation and drinks at the bar..loved the Bartendar!
Stopped by after a show for dinner, had an overall Good experience.
The Good: My fiance ordered the burger, which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Fries were nice and crisp and the house made pop was refreshing and different. I subbed mac and cheese for "chips" on my fish and chips and it was probably some of my all-time favorite mac. Very generous portion of perfectly crisp white fish on the fish and chips, too. Our dessert, the almond and apple crostada was a great ending. Our server was really nice and attentive, too. We would stop back for apps/drinks sometime after work, the menu piqued our interest and we'd like to try more.
The Meh/Bad: Due to presentation (one filet stacked on the other) of the fish and chips, my second filet was a pile of mush. Thankfully, I was full by the time I got to it I was full and didn't want to eat it. My fiance's dessert, key lime blueberry ice cream, started off nicely but had a very odd finish we couldn't quite put our fingers on. The restaurant is *very* dim - people not at a table with a lamp were using their cell phone flashlights to read the menu, which was unpleasant for those of us nearby. Also the restaurant decor gives off a really romantic, cool/relaxed vibe, but they're playing what sounded like a top 40 pandora station fairly loudly, which was distracting.
Pedro was amazing wonderful to my mother of 82 years old !!!
great crab cake eggs benedict. Nice vibe to the place and overall a creative menu.
Loved this place! Burger, buffalo chicken sandwich and brussel sprouts were amazing! Will definitely be back!
Good food. Generous hours. Great staff.
Great find. Unique menu choices, bar is extensive, and most importantly - the chef is beyond interesting, offers wide variety of options. Each choice is special, delicate and makes-you-ooh-and-ah tasty. No room for dessert, but it all looks great. Some of the options are a bit exotic for me, but foodies seemed to be thrilled (i.e. rabbit)! The brussel sprouts were amazing, fish was tender and fresh and salad was perfectly lightly dressed and refreshing.
We came back the next night for a late night snack and drink (mezze plate is really, really good) and were surprised by a sweet trio in the bar as a special treat. We totally enjoyed ourselves.
(By the way...please ask your singer gently - don't want to hurt her feelings - to choose a less distracting outfit... her voice is awesome and personality wonderful, but she doesn't need to wear something that takes away from taking in her gifted vocal interpretations and the great acoustic bass, guitar, rhythms and harmonies of her colleagues!)
We had a great time visiting The Dearborn! Our server, Pedro, was incredibly attentive and helped us in deciding what we should enjoy before heading to the theater. We got a great bottle of wine - a Malbec from France - and the food was delicious. The most standout dish was the Midwest Fried Chicken! Highly recommend & will be back again!
Really cool venue and great food. The staff were very friendly.
Fries were soggy and cold, Brussels sprouts were in a pool of oil, salad was bland, burrata was underwhelming.
The seafood wat not fresh and not worthy the price. The service was good.
This was my second visit and we loved it just as much as our first a month ago. The food is so delicious and the service is outstanding.
A Christmas present to my wife
Wow! New Year's Day Brunch was AWESOME! This is our 3rd visit. Food is always excellent! Only 1 wish...bring back Christmas brunch/dinner! We miss the Oxtails over palenta. Yummy! You must try this restaurant! (Pic Shrimp & Grits)
Nicer food, very attentive staff.
Great place. We came on NYE We had to push our res 30 minutes and they were very accommodating. We were sat in a very quiet booth, it was perfect. Alex our server was very helpful and upsold is twice with his recommendations. Also surprised one of our guests with a birthday dessert. Wanted to come back for the midnight toast but was unable to. Will be back for sure.
