Second time I have been here. I really like the place. Great fries! Seafood chowder was also good.
Finally, good food in the theater district! Woo hoo!!
Arrived for reservation 1 hour early, checked in and asked if it would be possible to get seated early. The hostess did not give an answer to the question and only said I have you checked in. So we stood in the corner for 1 hour waiting. If we knew that there was not a possibility we would have left and returned. As we stood in the corner waiting there were several tables of 4 available. Sunday they only serve brunch and dinner, we were seated at 2:30, so dinner wasn't available and brunch seemed a little late. The $12.00 Peach Bellini was nothing special. Ordered Burrata as a starter, the waiter asked if we would like bread with it, we stated yes! 4 slices arrived and we were charged a $1.00. Buffalo Chicken sandwich was just OK. The chicken patty was very thin in comparison to roll it was served on. It does state "thinly pounded" just maybe too thinly pounded. 2 other guests ordered the burger and seemed pleased. One guest ordered the salmon platter to be told they were out. The second option was mushroom and brie omelet which was also satisfactory, Waiter was attentive. I would come back and try dinner, but definitely will not arrive early.
Great food and service. Been here a few times and looking forward to going back soon.
Food was very delicious, but drinks were served very slow and our server would disappear for long periods of time. The live music was a nice touch for brunch, something unexpected and quite soothing.
Great weekend brunch prior to a matinee show. Tasty cocktails and very friendly service.
Food and service was fantastic. Value was good.
Noisy but emergetic
Great food, atmosphere, and service! Look forward to eating there again.
I have been to The Dearborn several times, but this was my first time for brunch. It was fantastic! I had the bone marrow and eggs, and it was delightful! My daughters had the french toast and pancakes, along with the freshly made apple soda, and they were thrilled. Our server was excellent. Highly recommend!
No wonder it is ranked the way it is. Even seemingly simple fairs like salad surprised us with the variety of clearly fresh ingredients. We were there for breakfast and will surely return for dinner
Manager reseated to a window booth per our request
Incredible meal. They take country recipes and present them on a savory, upscale way. Don't miss the chicken fried steak. The apple donuts for dessert were incredible. Too many flavors going on in the banana cake, and it was dry so maybe skip that. Other than that, my only complaint was the wall booth seating, which often means you'll be stuffed next to others like a sardine with little elbow room or space for an intimate conversation. But it wouldn't prevent us from returning.
Our second visit, and it was even better than the first. Love the cocktails - the Old Fashioned is just great! Did not want to eat heavy as it was the day after Thanksgiving, so we opted for the seasonal salad - one of us dded shrimp and the other added salmon. It was very tasty - a great blend of flavors and not overly dressed. Tony was our waiter and did an excellent job. Definitely a keeper on our list.
We had an extremely knowledgeable, kind and superb server.
We made reservations over a month ago and were seated where the wind blew in for a 11:30 lunch. There were 6 other open tables in the area and when we asked to move to another table we were told we could move to the back room! When asked if that was our only opportunity the hostess needed to go back to the front desk to ask permission - seems the hostess should be able to make this call. Additionally, the waiter told us we were ordering "too much" food - seems they should like this since the tip is based on the total bill. Very strange experience.
Great Food...Super Time
The kids loved the burgers. The seafood pasta dish was too spicy. I had chicken and gnocchi and thought it was pretty good. The service was really good.
Perfect spot before the theater. The meal was spectacular. The staff went above and beyond and gave us an umbrella because it was raining!
As always great unique menu. And the the cocktails are superb. One of the favorites in the city.
My family loves the Dearborn. We have dined here twice for dinner. The food is fresh, delicious and creative. Our server this past visit was phenomenal. He was professional, friendly and brought our daughter a surprise dessert, because he overheard us discussing it was her birthday. Beautiful interior and perfect location when you are dining downtown!
Lunch Server was very nice.
Service and food quality was superb! You have the best tofu!
My first visit to The Dearborn. A wonderful place for a holiday brunch, including live entertainment. The food was delicious and nicely presented. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the live entertainment, which we were not expecting (maybe only a Sunday brunch feature?). My friend and I did spend more than we usually do at a downtown luncheon, even not taking our drinks into consideration. Since it was our annual holiday outing - lunch followed by "A Christmas Carol" at the nearby Goodman Theater - we decided it was worth the extra expense. Despite that, we would consider a return to this restaurant. Additional note: the décor was very pleasing and the seating quite comfortable. The latter is important to me!
Bar area is the place to be. Outstanding food—the scotch egg was the best I’ve ever had. Ditto for the mussels, whose broth was so savory that it was all I could do to restrain myself from tipping the bowl up and drinking it. Wine list is good if a bit spendy. My favorite place in Chicago now.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday at Dearborn. Requested for staff to have a bottle of Champagne table-side and requested for staff to wish him a happy birthday. The service was fabulous. The crispy confit octopus and Rohan duck breast were phenomenal! The manager and other staff came to the table to offer their birthday wishes and even gave him a card.
Oddly enough, this neighborhood within the Loop is a bit shy of decent restaurants and The Dearborn helps add to the selection. Menu is varied and fits most budgets but the liquor and wine charges are steep.
Good brunch options. Service was a little slow.
Paul was a friendly, good server and our water glass was never empty.
Table was cleared often and felt rushed.
My husband and I came for dinner since we would be downtown after work. Our server Paul was great - welcoming and attentive. We shared an appetizer and salad. I that the pasta special and he had the chicken fried steak. All delicious! Wonderful evening.
All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals
Who gets excited about Brussels sprouts? I did. They were great!
Quick, professional service. Good place.
Service was excellent. Food was good. Curry chicken sandwich was very tasty. Brussel sprouts were very good as well.
Good beer selection.
It was kinda loud. Would go back.
Very nice people/good service. Food was tasty. On the Friday before Thanksgiving, it was very, very busy and so a bit noisy, but overall, it was a nice experience. Thanks.
Great service & great food! The Dearborn is in a great location with easy access from public transpo.
Whenever in town I try and make it a point to stop and eat here. Flavorful food and a phenomenal bar. Can get a little loud but still a great experience. Servers all around are well trained and know how to serve. A lot of restaurants can take lessons from this place. Cheers.
This family knows how to run a restaurant. Terrific combination of friendly service and hot, “true to menu” food combos.
Great service! Good for groups. The waitstaff accommodated our group size. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. His host also ensured we had refills of condiments and water.
Excellent place for having a business lunch, noise level is low allowing normal conversation.
