Blazing sun, howling gales, she’s just beautiful. And fun. And friendly. And tasty.

Our chefs pack every mouthful with international and Irish flavours. We’ve also got a range of cocktails so good you’ll wanna work your way through the entire menu.
We serve breakfast and dinner 7 days a week. We do lunch on weekdays and brunch at the weekend.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Sophie’s! The staff were awesome. 😄 We ate: arancini, scallops, and their beef main dish; it was all delicious! The seafood in Galway is second to none. Beautiful view of the city. Thanks again!

My family dined at Sophie’s last evening (6/28) to celebrate my husband and my 30th wedding anniversary ! While the restaurant was very busy, our server Emma was spot on! Very accommodating , pleasant and efficient as was the entire staff. The food was a culinary delight and the view was spectacular!! What a gem in Galway! Thank you for helping make our trip abroad so special!

Unfortunately, our experience was quite poor. Having heard great reviews about Sophies, we decided to dine here while on break in Galway. The starter we ordered to share (scallops) were stone cold when they arrived. It almost clouded the fact that the scallops were so incredibly tiny. As someone who enjoys scallops, this must be the smallest portions ever served and for 17 euros, it pinches when you compare quantity and quantity vs price. We then had pizzas which honestly were no better. Supervalu do a frozen pizza with similar toppings which tasted better. We ordered cajun chicken for one, what we got was no where close to it. We actually ended up not finishing them. And this coming from two pizza lovers who've driven across the country just for a slice at different outlets for fun, this is saying something. The dining experience left such a bad taste, we intentionally chose not to try desserts. This is the first time I have written a negative review - it honestly left us so disheartened. The only saving grace was the ambience, the company and the roof top views. That and one particular server who came over with the drinks. She was so lovely, she brightened up our experience for the few seconds we interacted with her.

Great service, super friendly and accommodating staff. The menu felt somewhat sparing, I miss the croquettes, but the taste was delicious. Would highly recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised after hearing some negative reviews. Our waiter was very attentive, regularly checking in. The food arrived very quick considering it was very busy in the restaurant. I had selected the birthday occasion option on opentable when booking and had actually forgotten about this until the waiter came with dessert including a candle and birthday message. Thought it was very good of them considering I didn’t approach any of the staff to ask for it. The prices aren’t much dearer than anywhere else these days in my opinion. Lovely place for a group dinner - lots of birthdays / hen parties around us.
