A nod to the contiguous Dawson Brothers Fireplace Plant of late 19th century Chicago, The Dawson's interior design draws inspiration from the history of the neighborhood and the industrial innovation of that era and offers an artfully stripped-down aesthetic, highlighting natural and reclaimed materials in unexpected ways throughout the establishment.

The food was delicious. We ordered a few plates but by far our favorite was the Spanish octopus highly recommended trying that if you’re reading this. For dessert we had the hazelnut chocolate mousse thumbs up. Our server Nick was awesome. First time here and definitely coming back.
The food was very good. The prices were fair given the quality (high prices but good quality and decent serving sizes). Good variety on the menu. It's the type of place that can accommodate vegetarians and meat eaters alike. My wife and I split an appetizer of mussels and a dessert of hazel nut chocolate mousse along with two entrees and we were sated.
The volume in the restaurant was very very loud. Very difficult to hear.
Cute Brunch place with some good food options. I love a place with bottomless mimosas
The Dawson was great, our server Fu or Foo (excuse any misspelling pls) was outstanding! Truly an awesome server and even honored our anniversary with champagne(thank you!)
The burratta and Brussels app is a must try,
We will be back!
My boyfriend and I went to The Dawson for Valentine’s Day and had a great experience! The fried lobster, fries, burrata and Brussels, green beans, and chocolate cake were all delicious. The restaurant is very modern and stylish and service was great.
The ambiance and service was great; however, the food was extremely salty, expensive for the quality, and small portions. I would not go back.
Best service and great cocktails!
Good date spot! Came for restaurant week. Duck wings and burrata were good! Paella was ok! Desserts were great! Black sesame ice cream . Flourless chocolate cake parfait
Always a spectacular dining experience, food and service is on point. Very noisy, though, so be mindful of that.
Nice brunch option in River West. Food and service was good. Bit noisy for a casual conversation.
Everything was great! I definitely would come back. The only downside was it was so crowded it was very loud and the service was a little slow -- to be expected though when it is this crowded.
Food was good, not great
Usually love this place but was disappointed! We went for restaurant week and 1/3 options for the main dish were sold out. Nothing to replace it. Even when I asked if anything else was available. Therefore I couldn’t do the restaurant week menu. My husbands steak was tough. Good cocktails though.
The service was outstanding and the drinks were amazing! Out appetizers were also really amazing but the entree portions were TINY for $35+ per plate! I'd recommend just doing drinks and apps here - the meal was not worth the cost. Our steak fries was itty bitty and way over done. We had the restaurant week sampling - duck wings were amazing, tortillini was really chewy and salty - gross! Dessert was just ok. My drink was amazing though!
I am always a big fan of the Dawson, especially their weekend brunch in the Summer, but their dinner menu for restaurant week was on point! Food was delicious and you got quite a bit, so for $36, it was an amazing deal. Would definitely recommend checking it out, especially for restaurant week.
Sunday Bottomless Burlesque Brunch was a wonderful performance. There was plenty of staff to be seen but my personal service for a table of 1 was very overlooked, that definitely determined whether or not i would take advantage of the bottomless drinks. Dawson please keep this Sunday Series around!
A bit pricy for the offerings but the food is good, drink menu is solid. Unfortunately, our service at brunch was just meh...
Great food and service
Visited for restaurant week, was delicious! Totillini were AMAZZZZZING.
Server and service was awesome as usual. Food perfect drinks outstanding.
Absolutely brutal halibut. I have had several times and is the dish of choice usually at the Dawson, but was incredibly dry and tasteless. Very disappointed.
Went here on a double date night and had an extraordinary evening. The night started well with a couple drinks at the bar and the old fashions are highly recommended. We then sat down upstairs and started with the empanadas and octopus, the octopus was good a little overly charred but the empanadas were great.
The main course's that everyone had were great, the pork chop and bone in filet in particular were amazing and cooked perfectly. We finished the night with some drinks and the cobbler dessert was great to be shared with everyone.
The server was great and did a good job of managing everything throughout the course of the night.
Overall a great place for a date night and would recommend.
Came for my boyfriend’s birthday, Charles was great! Excellent cocktail and food recommendations, had a really nice time, thanks!
This was a perfect evening with great service and food/beverage selection. I would highly recommend this for any occasion.
Great food and wine, service was attentive without being overbearing. Space is VERY LOUD but if you can tolerate it the food is worth it. Lamb shank was amazing as well as the burger and steak frites.
Too loud, could not carry on a conversation, the food was good but far too expensive.
The bar service was excellent. Because of the cost and noise level it kept me from ordering a lot more off the menu.
Bottomless mimosa brunch was a hit!
Excellent food and fabulous staff!
Food was really good and the mimosa bar was lovely!
The Dawson was an awesome experience! I’m already planning to come back this month.
We celebrated our friends birthday and the food and drinks were delicious! Everyone was so nice to us. We’ll definitely come back
Wonderful brunch w friends, had several food allergies and server and kitchen were amazing. One of our favorite brunch places
