The Darcy Restaurant
We had dinner for 2 at the Darcy restaurant which has only been operating under its new set up for a couple of months. Joseph the greeter at the entrance to the restaurant and was really great. He was from Cameroon and had a nice french accent to his English. Bryant the server was great, friendly and very accommodating. The food was great - crispy chicken wings (1 portion shared) were really very good and flavoursome. I had the rib eye which was excellent. My partner had the fillet and we shared the roasted brussel sprouts which were very good. The wine (we got a "big" bottle of the Prisoner red wine - really excellent. Bottle better value than by the glass at US$21 each.
Finished with a creme brulee wich is my favourite desert and it was very good indeed.
The location of the restaurant a little off the beaten track compared to 14th street above P but really worth the efort. They in the early stages of reviewing theit marketing strategy and broadening their menu options. Crystal the beverage manager was great and filled us in on their future plans and we will most certainly be going there again. Fun, friendly and a very enjoyable evening.
Made a short-notice reservation and was treated exceptionally. Will definitely be going back.
