Gerrard Street Kitchen
from the write ups....I was expecting a lot better. Starting with the table setting....but continuing through the quality of the food.
our server was nice and that was fine, however, the food didn't excite.
We had to go to the front desk to find someone to seat us. No one was around after waiting for several minutes to be seated.
The food was delicious and the presentation unique.
Service needs some come up !!!
Mains were subpar for this price point (steak, sea bass, etc.), appetizers about average. Drinks tasty and nicely presented. Service was poor, but I don't blame the waitstaff. I wouldn't return for dinner, but yes to the bar.
Excellent service and exquisite food. Staff extremely accommodating to my garlic allergy. Will definitely go back.
The sushi was exceptional. Desserts were also pretty amazing.
We found the food at Gerrard to be absolutely delicious. We are big foodies and we were so amazed that the food was that good. Even the appetizer and bar food were excellent. The flavors were truly international. Portions and presentation were also spot on. We will surely be back.
Nice, friendly service from host to waiter. Tasteful, comfortable ambiance in the dining room.
The food was disappointing and tasteless. The waiter only offered wine and water to drink.
There was no one in the restaurant at 7pm on a Saturday, which seems suspect. Also, I had a gift certificate and to verify it with the manager, the server TOOK MY PHONE. That made me so uncomfortable and I deeply regret allowing it to happen.
Hello, Thank you very much for your feedback and we deeply apologize for making you feel uncomfortable. This is never our intention and will be addressed with the appropriate team. The promotion you are referring to has just rolled out for us and we are making sure our servers know how to process the payments with accuracy internally and for our guests. We would love to have you back and enjoy our happy hour that has also just rolled out this past week. Hope to see you back soon.
I took my dinner group here one event. The restaurant was every accommodating, placing us in their private section. The service was fantastic. The menu selections didn’t lack variety, and the food was quite good. I would return.
Thank you very much for coming. We hope to be of service to you and your guests again soon.
Wonderful cocktails and a fun, tasty selection of small plates!
Thank you and hope to have you back soon!
We went there for restaurant week. Everyone from the front door host, to the lobby manager who offered me a bottle of water while I waited for my friends, to the hostess, to the waiter and the rest of the staff were all unbelievably friendly. The food came out fast but not too fast, and tasted great. Will be back!
I’m not sure what I was expecting, but GSK was not it. The atmosphere was eh and the service was confusing. The dishes were presented beautifully and the cocktails were delicious, but the overall experience was sub par. It felt like just another hotel restaurant experience, completely forgettable.
This was unfortunate. The place has potential, but service though very nice was very very weak. Entrees were average to bad. Needs a lot of work to operate in this neighborhood at this price point.
6:30 pm DJ was too loud. Food was delicious.
Small family dinner. We were put in a small alcove so nice and private. It was great, we were staying at the hotel Darcy, and had eaten their for dinner already so knew it was good. But this time we had a larger group to got to see what else they had on the menu. Lots of fun and good food!!!
Shayla was great. She was very pleasant.
Great restaurant! Great food, great staff, chef was frendly and came to our table several times when food and dessert was brought out. We will be back!
Good for group and/or business meals. Menu was good but not many selections (burgers/salads). Reasonably priced for the area.
We had dinner for 2 at the Darcy restaurant which has only been operating under its new set up for a couple of months. Joseph the greeter at the entrance to the restaurant and was really great. He was from Cameroon and had a nice french accent to his English. Bryant the server was great, friendly and very accommodating. The food was great - crispy chicken wings (1 portion shared) were really very good and flavoursome. I had the rib eye which was excellent. My partner had the fillet and we shared the roasted brussel sprouts which were very good. The wine (we got a "big" bottle of the Prisoner red wine - really excellent. Bottle better value than by the glass at US$21 each.
Finished with a creme brulee wich is my favourite desert and it was very good indeed.
The location of the restaurant a little off the beaten track compared to 14th street above P but really worth the efort. They in the early stages of reviewing theit marketing strategy and broadening their menu options. Crystal the beverage manager was great and filled us in on their future plans and we will most certainly be going there again. Fun, friendly and a very enjoyable evening.
Made a short-notice reservation and was treated exceptionally. Will definitely be going back.
