   Decor nice and could have a good ambience. The fire was lit but not tended. Food was moderate at best and priced a little high. Service was poor.. table sticky and had to go to bar to ask for someone to take our order. No cream on the premises and coffee machine broken. (Review from before Christmas said it was broken then, so still broken!) Overall a poor experience.

   Just not the same anymore. Food wa very average. No Steak? Service was just ok. Seems to have lost the buzz it used to have .

   Restaurant was closed and we could not dine there despite confirmed booking by you. Very poor service by Open Table and the Duck. Felt very let down as I had three elderly people with me, two of them on walking sticks.

   Main courses took 2 hours to get to the table, staff seemed tired after a hectic Christmas, nice spot but wouldn’t rush back for the food

   The fire was lit and we were the first customers. It gave us ample time to appreciate the art works on the wall. The stew we ordered came piping hot and full of beef, it was the best I’ve had for sometime. Everything was better than I expected.

   I booked a table for dinner and they served us the Sunday lunch menu so there was limited choice. We were disappointed we didn't get the dinner menu as some of us wanted the steak. They had run out of a-lot of stuff including basics like the fish and chips. We were offered mash as an alternative. They also ran out of toilet roll, which was pretty awful! I understand there has been a change of ownership and most of the staff are new. The drinks were very slow to come and service was poor. We did complain and the waiter said they would give us 10% of the bill and came back with the bill and said he's actually not giving us a discount. It was really strange. Hopefully things improve as it used to be a great bar with great food!

   What used to be a Gastropub has gone very downhill. The food used to be a cut above other pubs but now it ordinary at best. Still a great pub for the ambience but not what it used to be.

    Disappointed no coffee as machine was out of action and as we were not drinking alcohol . No alternative was offered . However we had a very pleasant server and that made up for that.
