The Daily Kitchen and Bar Restaurant-Carytown
Quite simply, one of the best restaurants I'e been to In Richmond. Relatively inexpensive, great tasting food, nice bar selections, attentive but not overbaaring servers. Highly recommend!
We loved our waitress, she's was awesome. The restaurant is very noisy but food is excellent.
We loved our dinner, food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. Having so many vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options meant that everyone in our party could have something they love. The pesto pasta was the only thing that wasn’t great, and the server took it back with a smile and replaced it with something that we loved. We will be back!
The restaurant was clean and bright. It was a little noisy for my old ears, but it appears they have made some real effort to keep it down by placing noise reduction panels in the ceiling.
Great dinner selection and strong cocktails! The food was incredible. I got the fish tacos. The fish was seasoned to perfection - maybe one of the best fish tacos I’ve ever sad. The salsa that came with it was very flavorful as well. My husband ordered the hanger steak and was raving about it! Great atmosphere and decor as well. Such a cool place. We will definitely be back
Great food and atmosphere. Vegan and gluten free friendly :)
Very noisy for this hard of hearing patron, but the food and service were excellent. Will definitely be back!
Awesome food for breakfast as we did. Fast service and friendly waitstaff. Definitely a must try for anyone in The area.
Nice place and food. A bit difficult to have a conversation due to noise levels .
We were seated promptly, and our wait staff was attentive, but had several other tables. Our food order was served in a timely manner, and our food was quite good. My husband had the turkey meatloaf dinner, and I had the tuna poke dinner, with a side of crispy Brussels sprouts. Our drink refills were not served until we were nearly finished with our dinner, which is my only issue with service.
The restaurant is quite noisy (we were seated between the bar and the front windows), so not necessarily the best place for an intimate conversation, but the seats are comfortable, and the decor is very nice. We would recommend it to others, and will likely return ourselves.
Food was good. Eyelash on water glass and lots of flies detracted a bit from experience
The daily once again delivered. Great food from the hamburgers and french fries on the kid's to the seared salmon. A very solid place to eat in Richmond
Fresh and delicious! My husband said his omelette was the best he'd ever had!
The food is delicious and the location is great. Reservations recommended.
Fabulous food, excellent service. Just a little loud.
Going away dinner
I love The Daily for happy hour. Even though I wish it lasted longer, it’s a beautiful space, the drinks are reasonable, and the appetizers on special are tasty. It had been a long time since I had been for dinner, so I was excited when my niece chose it for her 18th birthday dinner. I was completely disappointed. The pizza oven was down, so the already fairly limited menu (compared to what I remember from a couple of years ago) was cut by at least 25%. Two of our party settle for a bland burger and uninspired chipotle chicken sandwich, and another had the decent, but again, predictable hanger steak. My niece did enjoy her salmon with Greek-style preparation of feta, tomatoes, and quinoa; but my brother’s mahi was merely adequate and again, bland. I made the mistake of choosing the teriyaki bowl. While the blackened shrimp were a good suggestion from the waiter, and the vegetables served in the bowl abundant and fresh, all I could taste was the extremely heavy handed teriyaki sauce, which made the whole bowl a salty mess. I couldn’t finish even half of it. It was amateurish at best, and really close to inedible. I would have sent it back except for not wanting to cause difficulty for my party were I to have to wait for something else. The crisply Brussels were a hit a trhe table, though again, pretty hard on the blood pressure. The server was pleasant, but fairly inattentive, though I must say, it was kind of him to bring my niece a comped piece of chocolate torte with a candle for her birthday (and so, I’ll refrain from criticizing the torte). Overall, a truly disappointing experience. I will return for happy hour, but since it’s over by 6 or 630, I’ll have plenty of time to head somewhere else for a decent meal.
The food is just good, the ambiance is just good, but the prices are very expensive.
The food is fresh and delicious! We sat outside which was comin the shade even on a hot day.
The Daily always delivers a delicious meal with attentive service and a comfortable place to enjoy time with friends.
Fantastic food and friendly service.
Service needs to be better. Took to long to give refills on our drinks, and just to order our food. My friend and her daughter were not pleased with their food at all. My food was good, but they made my grass fed beef medium rare instead of medium like i asked for my Teriyaki Bowl. I may try Short Pump’s location instead next time. Im usually a decent tipper by myself, but our waiter was not that good. He was nice, but the procrastination was real.
Love coming to The Daily; great food selection with healthy and sustainable ingredients. Can't beat the atmosphere, especially in the summer with the windows open. Love this place!
The food was slow coming out, but the waitress was great and discounted our appetizer. We are vegan and thoroughly enjoyed the vegan options. Great Job Daily Kitchen!!
We had a great experience as always with friends.
Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable!
We tried different things than we usually eat here and were not disappointed.
Very nice evening and the front was open to the patio. We were seated at our reserved time. We were seated directly under an air conditioning vent and due to the nice weather, it was cold. We asked the waiter if they could adjust the AC and next thing we New, the vent was no longer freezing us out. Our server was delightful and he was attentive when we needed him. The food and drinks were delicious.
Visited my daughter for the weekend and this was my favorite dining spot. Food was delicious and service very good. Enjoyed the outdoor seating area with the canopy. Will be back when in town.
I used to love The Daily, it was my favorite restaurant in Richmond! They have made some menu changes that are disappointing to me, mainly the fish tacos which I always used to get. They reduced the amount of fish that comes with them, along with changing the toppings and decreasing the amount of salsa on them which was super disappointing to me! They still have my favorite brussel sprouts ever though! Hopefully they will change the fish tacos back to how they used to be!
We waited a long time between getting our waters/ meeting our waiter and getting our order taken.
Busy lunch crowd.
Noisier than I like. I probably won't return to the Carytown Daily, probably try the Short Pump location and hope for a quieter place. Hard to have a conversation w/ friends.
Menu is impressive and food is very good. Pricey but for the quality I understand the pricing.
avocado, tomato omlet was ok-ordinary, tomatoes tasteless and squishy, avocado not enough and lacked seasoning - ok but not as good as black bean bowl that I usually get.
We cancelled our reservation this morning. We meet family half way in Richmond. Two guests were sick so I called this morning to cancel. I knew the girl that answered the phone would mess it up as she was very uncaring. We want to return another time but I was rather out off by the email saying we did not show up.
Great food, good service but the noise level was extremely loud and not conducive to dinner conversation. If you are looking for a restaurant where you can converse over dinner, this is not it.
Mitchell was attentive and accommodating for our table. The food was clean and delicious.
I love The Daily. It has good options for all variety of diets, including gluten free, vegan, etc. Great location and ambiance as well. Definitely recommend making a reservation through Open Table so you will not have to wait.
Food and service are always great! Pretty setting, nice bar area and friendly atmosphere!
We were there for a family celebration.
My daughter's graduation. Everything was perfect.
Tasty and fun environment! Good brunch for vegans and non vegans. Frittata was good and avocado toast!
Service was positive.
I have been here a number of times and have always enjoyed everything about this place. Healthy yummy food in a fun location.
Ambiance is great! Service is wonderful! They have lots of options for those with food allergies.
