Housed in a Grade II*-listed building originally designed by famed Mancunian architect Edward Walters, British Steak Restaurant The Cut & Craft Manchester has taken over the final extravagant palazzo style building in the city.

Open now serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks seven days a week, with late night drinks table service until 130am on Friday and Saturday nights.

Building great. Little dark, struggled to read the menu. Sides came later than the steak, so much so that one side was not billed without any comment from ourselves. Food was ok but not exceptional.

Booked quickly through OpenTable as the restaurant came high up in the listings and was nearby. It certainly looked like an interesting location as it was a restored bank. The interior was beautiful with cosy tables, high ceilings and marble. Service was impeccable, very welcoming from the reception staff to the waiters. I went for the oysters, ribeye steak with truffle fries and the baked Alaska. Oysters were small but full of flavour (apparently sourced from their own fishery). Ribeye was a good size and perfectly cooked rare as requested. The fries were sinfully delicious. The baked Alaska was the only thing that was a letdown, the meringue was fluffy and soft - it had been blow torched rather than baked. It was an expensive night out (I’d decided to treat myself) but nothing felt overpriced. I was asked twice by the waitress if I was ok to pay the service charge - first time I’d ever been asked that question. Of course I was, but did ask if others had an issue with it. Discretion prevented her from answering, but if anyone has an issue with paying a service charge with the amazing level of service that I received, then they should go in this restaurant l!

Quite disappointed in the steak as it was quite chewy and I didn’t get well done, the mash wasn’t very better creamy mash. The ambience wasn’t the best at all and was seated right next to where the Dj was so his behind was right next the table the fulltime and not the best sight. Originally from Leeds and been to the Leeds restaurant which blows this out of the water such a shame but excellent customer service on the hand

Lovely place to go into, beautiful building and decor. Portion sizes small especially fajitas . Great service though , everyone very professional .

The venue it self is lovely. The staff are average. If the food was as good a the venue this would be a classy restaurant. The steak we ordered, medium rare, was so tough we couldn't cut into it, and left it. The scallops, I have never seen scallops this small, looked like they were frozen. Our cocktails arrived, and they managed to spill them on the tray, and just placed them on the table and walked off! The noise level of the pumping house music at 3pm is not what iu was expecting for my lunch, totally missed the ambiance they are trying to set. Overall very disappointed for my birthday meal. We will. not be returning. Thanks

Mixed feelings about this place Incredible venue, lovely toilets (ladies you’ll understand if you’ve been), music not obnoxiously loud like so many Manc restaurants now, super helpful and attentive staff, a great gf menu (I’m coeliac) However food just average, reminded us of miller and carter with hawksmoor pricing. Nothing particularly special for the price tag
